- Hello there today we take a look at unbricking your phone. My phone got bricked and was stuck on QUALCOMM CrashDump mode with no way of booting into recovery or fastboot
I was going to give up and just RMA the phone but Asus turned out to be greedy bastards and wanted to charge me 45 British pounds for the shipping and god knows how much for their bois to flash it.
So I said I will not get ass blasted by Asus today and thus went on a confusing journey to fix the phone myself.
The hardest part I would say is figuring out what the hell to do since there are guides and stuff that helped me immensely along the way which without I would not be able to it, but there is no one definitive guide.
I hope this video will serve as such. This way anyone can follow and dont need to know much background about Qualcomm flashing as it is all done here even making custom EDL cable.

my rog phone 2 never had dtsX symbol at start up.... it has qualcomm elite gaming symbol ... and i just peeled cut my original usb type C cable that came with rog phone 2... it doesnt have such collored cables inside!! two cables are very thin, white & Pink... other two are not so thick, same red and pink .. so i will buy new cable and try to find collored cables..
try finding a usb 2 cable. its easier since there is less wires to manage.

if phone still can enter Fastboot mode : flash raw firmware
if phone have usb debugging enable enter 9008 mode by : adb reboot edl
If the phone can enter fastboot you are lucky and it is not bricked. You can either flash raw firmware or use twrp to flash stock rom both will achieve the same thing

I've had to do this before on my OnePlus Nord N10 after trying to install Android 11 on Android 10 bootloader a lol; Ended up having to restore in EDL, take the OTA to 11, then reunlock the bootloader THEN install my ROM; Lesson learned after that one hahaha; It's nice to have a way to unbrick

i cant get it into fastboot menu 12:26 but i ran the 1ROG3_VFLASH_EDL.cmd script file and nothing happpened

Yea phone is pretty much as dead as the links these days. If you go over to my telegram chat I have uploaded edl there. Check the pinned messages

Nope don't have a Zenfone. You can try flashing raw firmware that solves all software issues

if you look at the phone in the wrong way it can go into crash dump :) It should only happen to people who mod with software but there are a few instances where it happened to people just using their phones normally
after i flashed in miflash and raw flashing then it will restart and just bootlooping i didn't even see the picking language part lol is it really dead? i tried going to recovery mode and its no luck too lol

Hello Sir, I have questions for my Asus Rog Phone 2. The device will not turn on no matter what, can I force it into EDL mode if that’s the case? The red light still blinks when I plug in to charge but the light disappears when unplugged. Is this a Motherboard issue instead?
Sounds a bit like your phone is already in EDL. You can check in device manager when the phone is connected to pc.
@@TerminalHeatSink it doesn't show up on my device manager strangely enough, I also had my phone taken to multiple repair shops, they were unfamiliar with the device but suggested I picked up a motherboard replacement then they'll replace it.

You can make your own edl cable from original cables there are loads of videos on this site showing how

Not sure about premade cables. You can try charging for a few hours maybe the battery is dead
Need help. In the images folder it only says "flash_all" but not "flash_all.bat" and says cannot receive hello packet
There should be flashall_aft.cmd. The other one is for Linux

@@mattikarkiabanes4825 download the right files. For this guide you need edl flashable firmware and raw firmware. Raw firmware has flashall_aft.cmd

If you can access fastboot then obviously you don't need to flash edl

yep 9008 is edl mode. so you can skip the first bit of the video where we get into 9008/edl mode

Yea that can be many things. There is sort of a list of things to try. Use different USB cable, use different USB port on pc and lastly use a different pc

if you can enter fastboot you obviously don't need edl. edl is only for repairing fastboot
it gives me an error when flashing. i tried to edit the flash all file as well..it some times says device disconnected. and some times it says object reference not set to an instance of an object
Make sure you have the Qualcomm drivers installed. You can also try using a different USB port, different cable, use 64bit Windows 10.

It flashed successfully on Miflash, but it doesn't enter into bootloader when I hold volume up and power button. I guess it's time to get rid of that phone.
If it flashed properly you can try to hold the power button and both volume keys to force shut down and then power button and volume up key to get into bootloader. Hold the keys for around 40 seconds also

Hello, I followed you're steps and it flashes and everything looks exactly like you're video posted however when I attempt to turn it off and fastboot (holding power and up volume) it will not load into fastboot and reshows the Qualcomm Crashdump mode. I dunnot what to do I have tried flashing more then once with different USB ports. Still same issue once trying to fastboot so to factory reset it just loads the crashdump mode.
Seems like miflash didn't flash properly. When you are flashing with miflash how long does it take for you until its finished?

Rog 2 itself turned off and switched to edl mode and did not respond, I wanted to flash it like in this video, but the firmware gave an error error failed to intelialize ufs device slot 0 patrition 1 felled to open device. Does this mean the power controller is dead?
Na probably just connection issue. it shows up in the correct mode and you have the qualcom drivers installed right

What happens if you flash it with "clean all/lock" option instead "clean all" only? 9:04 I did that without noticing and now my phone not entering download mode, its stuck in bootloader mode, no recovery, no start
No idea lol I just showed in the video what the guide on xda is saying. I think lock just locks the bootloader. You should be able to use miflash again though.

Always do regular backups. If you are in this mode it's too late data is already gone
You can try contacting a recovery service. I haven't looked into android data recovery myself but its a little bit more tricky than normal disk recovery for pc as all the data is encrypted

Make sure you have the qualcomm drivers installed and then try the following
1. Use the side port on the phone
2. Try using different USB cables
3. Try using different USB ports on PC
6. Try with another pc

That's because it was never in dev options. You need to use the apk provided by Asus to unlock the bootloader

Please follow the video. After miflash you need to flash raw firmware then factory reset. Please don't make up your own steps

Hii,I was trying to unlock bootloader through edl mode but I'm stuck at fastboot and Im at a loop where when I click reboot it keeps coming back to fastboot mode,I have followed your steps and have successfully come to Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008(COM4),but when I try to flash the image through mi flash at 19 seconds it says "write time out,maybe device was disconnected"
Try using a different USB cable or plug it into another USB port. If you are using pc plug it into the back of the motherboard

Hey bro it worked I restarted my pc and updated the Qualcomm drivers manually and then copied mi flash to 'C' drive and also copied the imagies in the mi flash directory and then it flashed

I unlocked the phone and installed twrp, then erased the factory rom, saw that there was no storage and even so I made the mistake of rebooting the system and when it came back it was written in red
Slot a is unbootable, error verifying image, your device will shutdown in 30s, I can get into fasteboot mode but I can't get into recovery, that message appears

If you can get into the bootloader you can simply flash raw firmware

Right click on the android and press update driver. Let windows update driver online. Then reboot pc

Once the phone is stuck on Qualcomm dump screen or just black screen I don't think it's possible to save data unfortunately

I'm having trouble getting my phone to show up on my computer as 9008, it always shows as 900e. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I've been putting the cable in while holding the button and waiting 25 seconds before unpressing.
Not sure I haven't used the premade edl cables but it doesn't always work on the first try. Normally when the phones screen is off that means you made it into 9008. Make sure that you have the Qualcomm drivers installed. You can still try to flash in miflash. If it's not proper 9008 mode it won't flash anyway so it's not a big issue
@@TerminalHeatSink I've been trying this more and I'm still having no luck getting it to show as 9008. Is it exactly 25 seconds? Should I try to be on the earlier side or later?
For a bit the qualcomm crashdump screen would show but in the last few months it has been unresponsive other than the red led when plugged in and on low power. Is this even the right fix for that?
I'm pretty sure the cable isn't the issue as holding the button does delay the device showing in device manager.

Sounds like you are in fastboot. In that case you can skip miflash and proceed with flashing raw firmware
