- Welcome to our biggest carp fishing challenge yet, the Reservoir Diaries. Fishing a 280 acre reservoir trying to catch the big carp which live there.

We first started these diaries back in late September 2014, but it was only Spring 2015 when we finally started catching carp consistently. In this video we show all the bait, rigs, tactics and locations we fished, to catch some of the best carp we have ever caught. Hope you enjoy watching!

After having watched probably 80%+ of the carp videos on RUclips, you have topped them all with this one, such a unique view on fishing and not to mention a unique place to be allowed to fish, tops the park lake campaign and even the secret lakes special little linear's, the wait was sure worth it, thanks for the great watch, keep it up lads!

I've been waiting for this....i'm a 42 year old Carp angler who's been fishing for Carp for 27 years, i've done and seen a lot within the sport and I own a fishery in France.....BUT, this still blew me away lads. Awesome, epic, exciting, adrenaline pumping. Stars of now and the future. Thankyou lads.

Fishing since 11 years old and started fishing matches at 15. Consider myself a well rounded angler having had a go at most styles of fishing and always enjoyed surface fishing for carp and not taking it too seriously. I have to say I started following your channel this year having watched your deep res video and after watching this one I just can't get my head around the level you guys were at even 5 years ago! Anyway long story short I've been inspired to spend a small fortune on carp gear and I'm preparing for my first 48hr session this coming weekend, hoping to smash my pb...Keep up with the inspiration.

In a crowed market full of very talented film makers this reservoir diary series is amongst the very best,I find myself watching the full series over and over, I hope you don't take for granted how good this series is. Finally got around to watching ... thought I'd watch five minutes and ended up having to watch it all from start to finish!!!! Epic stuff once again - great filming and great presenting and great angling -- I love the attention to detail and the numerous fill-in shots - and getting the takes and fish showing on film, that is so difficult ..... you've raised the bar yet again but inspired me to go out with the rods and the cameras ... very well done both of you :-)

@@fishwithcarl Boys! i went to the res near me finally...apparently a 38 got caught few months ago but very little people fish it, on my 2nd night about 300 people turned up for a rave on the field behind me...i woke up to some1 sniffing my tent. WTF LOL

I drove past this reservoir yesterday I won’t name for respect of the members but I was amazed by the immense size of this place remembering your videos on it I came back and watched both again honestly a truly amazing pair of videos on a water that could throw anything at you much respect you deserve the success you’ve both achieved

The wait for the upload of this video was well worth it. Well done lads, you really have worked so hard to catch these memories for yourselves, if I'm honest, I underestimated the amount of work that would be put in. +Carl and Alex Fishing I am a 12 year old fisherman I started fishing because of you and my uncle who liked fishing but infortunatly died my spellings arnt very good.please could we maby meat up at Aston park fisheries in north yorksher as I hope you can teach me a lot because my biggest fish is only about 15ib and I use a drennen method feeder and a method feeder rod that isn't as good as yours. I am hoping to start a RUclips channal like you but I haven't got a good camera or laptop to up lode it on.
As an American carper, I love your videos. (I'm in Grand Rapids Michigan, have fished the Holland Channel, Lk. MI, and Lake Mac many times!), I just can't imagine the dedication to working out a location where it can be days between takes! Honestly inspirational.

There are not many videos like this. This video is 8 years old and I am still watching it over and over again. And I know It's hard to fish a venue with zero information. Good job!
Was just thinking lads, you should offer media lessons for those passionate about RUclips or producing better content for they're business. You'd do very well and get to share your exp for a fair price 👍

I watched this video in 2016, it was what I can only describe as perfect, the filming the music the hole shebang is just brilliant. I have been Carp fishing since the 1970's and have never watched such a well crafted video in all my times. What you boys have done here is brought experience that you would expect from men of twice your age, men who have been fishing for decades cant bring what you have done here. So back to 2019 and Im still coming back to watch this video again, was an inspiration in 2016 and is still one today. I just hope you can get round to doing this again sometime, fishing the same venue and catching more of the fish the place holds, it was back then and is now a pleasure to watch this video. Good luck

Simply amazing, loved how you did all the hard work (new and old maps) to find out the best places to fish. A great insight on how we all can do this, instead of casting in to the unknown.

I'm 57 now and used to fish for carp way back when I was a youngin’ like you guys. Watching your videos is such fun and brings back amazing memories - makes me want to suit up again and go back out!

As a follow up to last year’s comment, I'm 58 now and I think I've watched every Carl&Alex video I could find (including the Tutorials).
I've learned so much from your videos - they've helped me become an avid carp fisherman. I also fish mainly using UK-style gear/baits/tactics/etc…
Many thanks for all the helpful tips you've offered and such great entertaining carp fishing movies to watch over and over!
Tha past year has been truly amazing (I even caught my first Winter carp last week👏 which was an important goal I set for myself last Autumn).
