As a returnee to fishing after 50 years I have found these delightful films utterly engaging, informative and aesthetically crafted. The river koi carp caught next to a main road is rather something else altogether. Well done gentlemen. John K
Love what you do guys really enjoy your videos, I've been angling for 28 years and feel you bring a really great vibe to angling and love the music in your videos keep up the great work
Use to fish farlows about 35 years ago. Was a head of its time with a cafe and tackle shop. Haven’t seen anything of it since your video. Glad to see it’s still going strong, and the m25 as loud as ever.
I always get to see interesting techniques here on this Channel. Heh. And by the way -- as always -- great editing, man! Your videos are so heartwarming. Tight lines from Philly!
Any chance you guys would consider doing a video for beginners explaining the different ways to set up your tackle for float fishing, surface fishing, bottom fishing ect...? Loving the videos lads
Your videos are always inspiring and your editing is always on point! I can't begin to imagine how much time you guys invest in these videos when you get home and while you are fishing... Such a beautiful channel and hopefuly one day I'll get to England and I'll be able to share a session with you two. Keep up the good work!
Once again chaps, you've exceeded all expectations! Great video, the soundtrack really did compliment the footage. And the fact I didn't even hear a weight of any of those fish until pretty much the end, was so refreshing! Not all about catching the biggest. Aslong as fun is had and they're scaley pretty ones! Great job👍
I went surface fishing for the first time last weekend. My daughter and I caught 4 up to 9lb and loved it! I loved the video, you guys are enthusiastic and it's catching. I'm going looking for bigger cats now tomorrow 😀 thanks 👍
My name is Barry I have been fishing since I can remember , whats brilliant is you attitude towards your passion and the total respect for the fish you catch Big or Small, keep it going totally inspiring
I spent the vast majority of my childhood down at farlows, Iv had so many great fish and great memories there. I live in Australia now and havn't been able to see this place for 9 years. Thanks for the trip down memory lane lads, great video.
well done guys another great video!! We've got a few now as well, including our trip to the Ebro last year. Some great surface fish though guys. I totally agree that there isn't a better feeling than hooking watching the carp engulf the bait off the surface!
Great job guys! I love catching large mouth bass in the US but you guys make it carp fishing in the UK so much fun! Im thinking about swimming to other side of the big pond and fish with you guys!
+Fishing with Us thanks man!!! We are thinking about our next abroad trip we want to make a video about fishing for large mouth bass as it looks so exiting! :)
I will have to try some carp fishing in my channel then :). Any way, keep up the good works guys and maybe one day we can catch some monster bass together in the U.S!
Might sound daft lads but I have booked 4 nights fishing at woodlands lakes lodges. 1 June until the 5th. Feel free to come up to Yorkshire for a spot of surface fishing! It’s gonna be a heat wave and you can stay in the lodge if ya want!
I do wish you could mention the weights, most of the carp I catch at my local ake seem to be under 7lb, my PB is only 8lb 11oz, but there are carp up to 20lb in the lake...
YES! So happy to hear someone is trying it in the USA! You have lots of incredible water to fish for carp in! I think most people use Pac Bait and corn over in the US. Best of luck to you!!!
Thanks mate. Just watched your fishing across the pond video from back in 2015. Pretty interesting how UK carp don't seem to like pack bait as much. Our fish go crazy for it! :-)
+Carl and Alex Fishing your very welcome, you two are going far, got too say one of the best fishing channels I've seen, much better than that korda crap ;)
what stunning scaleys at Farlows , if I ever get enough money to travel to England this will be on my list to fish ...hope someone will guest me 😁 ...another cracking vid lads ...keep it carpy
Carl and Alex Fishing i know !!!!! I really want to work for nash and do what Alan does when I'm older I'm already a really keen angler and loves carp!! In actual fact I'm going carp fishing tomorrow!!.. Love the content you give us thanks guys!!
+MBGames Quite a wide topic, anything particular you would like to know. The main thing is that you get your bait where the fish are, keep walking watching carefully for signs of fish as that's the best tip I can give. :)
If i may ask, what exact rod is Carl fishing with? That parabolic curve is fantastic! It looks like it would be fun to catch big carp on a float with it too. Never tried surface fishing but i think the adrenaline boost from seeing a carp take the bait directly is very similar to the feeling i get seeing my float rise and then sail away... best drug ever
That's interesting keeping your line floating, I go fly fishing and whenever i am fishing flies on the surface i try to have my leader sinking or just under because a floating leader tends to spook trout.
We mostly keep the line floating because as soon as it sinks the bait pulls close to the float and you need the line to be straight to hook the fish better! :)
Another top video Carl and Alex, your editing is real class and those drone scene's really finish thing's off. It's great watching your video's from your early day's as young lad's to see you both growing up. I have a question about those Diawa reel's that you have been using for year's, including in the episode, How do you rate them and how do they compare to the Shimano Bait Runner's please. Best wishe's Lad's.
The daiwa reels are nice, we've used them for years now, not as hard wearing as the shimano baitrunners, but they are a little lighter I think and nicer in the hand. :)
great video as usual lads. a quick question, I also use Vaseline when surface fishing but I'm not sure how often to put it on? at the moment I add it every 4-5 casts.
We normally add it at the beginning of the session and then maybe top it up after a fish if we catch one. If your line is sinking it may be due to the line being a sinking variety rather than a floating monofilament like ZigFlo.
cheers lads I do always use mono hooklength for surface fishing was just curious as to how often you add Vaseline to the line as I sometimes fish large distances and find it hard to see the lone presentation. thankyou for your advice, tight lines fellas !!
A GoPro is quite a good place to start, quite reliable and have alot of uses, underwater, chest mount, head mount, even put it on your rod whilst you fish... If you have more budget take a look at something like the Canon 650D :)
