I've only been carp fishing for 7 months and Carl and Alex's videos have taught me everything I know and thanks to these 2 legends I managed to land my pb of 22lb can't thank you guys enough ❤
@apocalimp I've been fishing every weekend and any time I had of school and any time I now have off work, it's persistence that got me that biggen so that's the only advise I can give really 😂
I love your channel and your videos have helped out my brother and I so much! Recently we landed our new personal best carp in the middle of a Colorado winter with the tips in this video. Thank you so much for your amazing videos.
For a novice carp angler like myself these videos help alot more than you probably think. Can tell you how much ive learnt from watching your vids over the years lads. Keep it up. Cheers
Carl, i have to say of all the carp content i watch, yours often is the most no-frill and clear of it all. I recently started experimenting with filming my own sessions and your content is an immense inspiration. Thank you!
I used to do a lot of carp fishing 20 years ago. Dusted off my tackle last week with the intention to start up again and thought I should see how things have changed over the years, new rigs, methods etc. So glad I came across your channel boys. Your videos are very informative and the presentation is extremely professional. Looks like I will be binge watching for a while. Tight lines and thanks
Definitely the best fishing/tutorial channel on RUclips, though I think you guys could 100% move up and get a tv show going or something in the near future
Been fishing for a while but b only caught my first carp this year as I only started this year Carl and Alex has taught me loads alongside this channel I would recommend to everyone who is getting into fishing
I've been fishing since I was 5 (33 years now.... wow) and you 2 are braver souls than me! I will fish in all weather but snow is a bit much! Keep up the good work guys
Ur amazing carl I started carp fishing in 2022 and I used a whole pot of korda goo in my groundbait biggest mistake and waste of money 😆 🤣 😂 now I have landed a pb at 11.2 ibs I will be 13 in 2 weeks keep it up love your vids I have learnt to tie rigs cast accurately I understand pva and leads and feeders now because of you so thanks there is an amazing lake in Kidlington called greenhill leisure that I fish biggest in there is nearly a 40 i recommend
Just thought about how sad it is that the „main carp season“ is over, and i have to wait the next months. Now this video comes up and im looking forward for my next winter sessions. :) Thanks Carl&Alex
Top RUclips anglers 👍. Watched your videos for years. Felt a bit weird at first as I'm in my 30's and I was watching a couple of kids fishing, but the quality of the videos is amazing. you guys really have got something special...
A tip for the lazy amongst us. If you don’t fancy threading maggots. Strip coating of the braid. Tie on a size 14/16 hook. Thread through the foam or floating corn. Put the hook inside the foam/bouyant corn. Tie up hair rig as normal. Now all you have to do is expose the point of the hook by sliding down the hair. Hook some maggots. Place back in the foam/bouyant corn - job done. But, great vid
What's not to like about these young lads and their videos? I've turned 60 and yet seeing their enthusiasm and enjoyment still puts a smile on my face.
Last week I was at glasdir fishery doing a night fishing session before I went I watched your carp fishingvideos and I knew to be patient so on my first cast I had a carp on after 10mins of my float being in the water when I landed it it was the biggest fish I ever caught a 10lb carp
As a rank amateur I do enjoy these videos. Being disabled I can’t play sports I used to, so I took up fishing. I can’t catch a cold at the moment, but I do keep trying.
Blanked all this past winter whereas summer and autumn was on fire a my local Reservoir. These tips will be great for trying this coming winter. I also have a small local fishery with lots of overhangs and shaded areas, ideal to try these methods. Thanks for a great tutorial.
I think the most important thing carp fishing in winter is to try and fish well stocked fisheries. The thing I like most about winter fishing is most people stay indoors or fish for other species that means venues that would be rammed in summer are nice and quiet, some even drop the price of their tickets!
I've got a video suggestion as I struggle with this myself, I have been carp fishing for a few years and only ever used shelf life but would like to use freezer as give it a try but I'm confused with the likes of drying out,re hydrating. when to refreeze them, how long they can be left out. Simple questions like that it's just I cant find anywhere that explains it well. Thanks for reading anyway just thought I'd ask, keep up the great work 👍💛
Thanks for the very informative video!! I'm a stateside carp addict and have yet to catch any carp in the winter. I'll be trying some of your tactics this long winter!!
I fished the local canal this morning Carl. The water is unbelievably clear. Managed to bag a couple on 12mm singles but may of had more if I’d taken maggots. If you get a chance go take a look the water is like tap water.
Classic tips there that most anglers wouldn't think about before a fishing session. Also just wanted to say well done for getting on the korda podcast, really looking forward to it 👌 🎣
I haven't fished for 5/6 years and there wasn't as much content on RUclips or rather I didn't use RUclips then, just what I could pick up in improve your coarse magazine. I've been watching lots of videos and got the bug again,it's currently winter so this video should be helpful as I was always a spring/summer/autumn fisher, thanks
Thanks, loved this Carl. It would be great to have a tutorial on more of the info about how to know where fish are in a water please. You have so much knowledge and experience about habitat and water life, it would be great to hear more of that.
Great video I'm new to carp fishing and your short videos have been a massive help with ideas and tips and have made things so much easier. Thankyou much appreciated
Just found this vid and taking it all into account :) thanks for so many tips guys. Love your vids. Just finished your 3 hour 100 best moments, brilliant watching
After watching this vid I decided to try and catch some canal carp which I've been in pursuit of during the warmer months with a few coming to the net but a bit hit and miss. Your reference to light was a real key to success and for 3 evening's on the trot I put 3 fish on the bank👍.
I go to alot of the places in your videos, and it's crazy seeing a fishery like tanyards and recognising swims you catch from, I'm only just trying carp fishing properly and your videos are awesome, thanks so much guys 👌
Gamon steak works a treat for carp in the winter, last week I had it for dinner so I took some left over and cut them into squares and went out to my local pond, after about 2 hours of nothing I stopped using corn and stuck on a square of meet and hooked into a 12 pound carp
some brilliant practical advice there ' mum like' or not - you make a good points.....Ive watched you two mature into fine anglers...always bloody awesome films... Kudos to you both
I have never caught a carp in my whole life and never really tried to, but now I am HYPED to get to a lake and start fishing corn even though it is practically winter
I kind of disagree with feeding corn/mais...it will overfeed fish quickly cause of the carbohydrate...if you wanna use it take the mashed one going threw a blender :) this makes a beautiful cloud and the fish wont get filled up. great video. TL from austria
Apologies if you’ve already done it and I didn’t search hard enough but can you do a tutorial on fishing with bread. I’d like to see how to make it float and sink slowly. Would be really helpful. Cheers guys loving the channel.
I like to use a float and maggots or a pellet float and a sinking pellet. My favourite pellet is the 5mm soft bloodworm pellet because they stay on the hook well and the last winter I caught a 10lb in a half hour session.
A friend of mine is carping on about salt being the best winter bait ever. I use salt or salty additives/bait through the year, but not tried it in the colder months, i'm interested what you think
Have you got any tips for fishing in a small pond that’s 70m deep it used to be a slate mine and has underwater caves I went there today and saw some carp they went over to the bait then swam away I saw them jump a few times but never went over to the bait again I’m surprised I even saw them in winter and not rudd or perch there’s usually about 200 rudd and the surface and some huge perch following them
Brilliant set of tips! I'm doing my 1st session of the year in a couple of weeks will be putting all this info into action hoping to get a carp or two!! Keep it up lads!

There is a water in our club, that many years ago was a very good pond. But in recent times it has become very difficult to fish, no matter what time of year. Any tips on fishing hard waters?
Thank you for great videos! Is there some special reason why not to use maggots with thread on zig? Never used maggots before and planning to try during next few sessions!
