Bob Odenkirk is in another level of acting. Even his posture changes when playing Saul.
Yes he's great!
He’s my second favorite character on BB and BCS, Mike’s my favorite lol
But Bob did a awesome job on playing Jimmy and Saul!
Criminally underrated. I still can’t believe he hasn’t won an Emmy I don’t even know what to say. He’s phenomenal.
@@cocob0l0 They had to cater to the mindless masses who think GOT season 8 is good.
Both actors here give fantastic performances and really get back into their Breaking Bad characters. It's great.
I love how close this looks to breaking bad. The film grain, the handheld camera, the sad ominous music in the background. It’s like a scene that was pulled straight from the original show.
Yeah they actually filmed this with 35mm film (like BrBa) instead of digital like better call saul.
Nostalgia really hit me in the gut.

knowing all those ups and downs in Jimmy's life, I find this scene somehow heartbreaking.
I did too. Jimmy got in over his head with Walter and he underestimated how evil Walt truly was.
It's very heartbreaking. In every path that he chose, he could never make it as a lawyer. Whether that be Chuck, Walt, or Saul/Jimmy's own natural inclination towards *chicanery*
What happened why did he need a new identity?
@@imposterblockade1826 because he is walter white's lawyer, and walter is a very big drug dealer who just got caught
given all that we know about Saul and Francesca, this scene was definitely heartbreaking. i almost wish she had hugged him and just cried it out, but unfortunately it just makes sense that she wouldn't do that at this point
The crack in his voice when he says "That's it" gets me. He's holding back tears as he realizes it's all over.
Ya shoulda said “Saul over”
So sad. You see how Francesca's first meet with Saul is so warm and loving in BCS. Then you go through the BB series and see how things have changed. Then this scene you realize she has no emotion for him at all. Like not even anger. More like she could care less if he dies. But then again she did take the money so maybe a bit of dirty Saul rubbed off on her. So sad.
She could be slightly disgusted by him because of his hitting on her and pervy nick names like HT. She's just had it officially, I guess.
The original MRjguill me made her choice. She chose money and security over right and wrong, she black mailed Walt for 25k as well. She’s no angel
So sad? She should be rich by this point if she budgeted properly, I wish I could find a Saul to work for
I think that you hit it on the head. Though a part of me wonders if she ever really liked him all that much. When Kim and Jimmy had to let her go in BCS season 3, I noticed that her goodbye to Kim was a lot warmer, I think even including a hug, whereas she only gave Jimmy a quick glance.
0:52 watch that part.
she has some deep inside respect or care for him. She sees he has failed but she sees he is a good person deep inside and still would do that for him....
The music really made it feel like Breaking Bad
@Gurry Singh nope, that's a scene from Better call Saul
@Gurry Singh Season 4, episode 5 - right at the beginning
@@Fenixias I mean still technically it IS Breaking Bad. we are watching a scene that takes place in BB territory, long after the events of the show took place.
@@EpicGamer-fl7fn Yeah, but that's obviously not what he meant ;)
@@EpicGamer-fl7fn not long after... walt and saul are in the same room as they await the vacuum guy to give them new identities. this takes place before the 2nd half of season 5.
This literally just feels like a deleted scene in breaking bad back in 2013
Except Bob looks less fat and if anything the “film” look really showed his age at this time, he looked at least a couple years older compared to BB, but the attention to detail was still an amazing effort nevertheless.
@@princebpolar8429 meh, it's not so noticeable here. Now, by season 5 and 6? Definitely noticeable
They shot this scene on the same type of camera as breaking bad, only time it’s used in better call Saul
@@DewNotDisturb I was hoping they would shoot on film for season 6’s depiction of the events of BB but it was cool how they rather tried to replicate the look of the film. The scene in Saul’s office where Mike reports to Saul about his info on Walt and Jesse, it easily looks like it could fit in the season 4 or 5 cinematography of BB, they still did a good job nevertheless recreating the look and feel of the original show.
Not 100% but for a scene filmed 5 years after the original show it’s very close.
I just got why saul asked Francesca to drop them off in separate dumpsters. It's because he was able to build his case against sandpiper by going into the dumpsters and retrieving them.
I've done that with a cheque I wanted to destroy. It was to join a certain club, and, I realized I wasn't going to get anything out of it. My cheque had not been cashed and was right up on top. I made it obvious I was not joining, without saying anything, by picking it up and ripping it in half in front of them. I think it was because of this scene, I tore it up more and more as I walked away and tossed all of the pieces into 3 garbage cans.
Yeah no shit
wasnt that hard to figure out
Every single detail of this show is carefully planned. It's insane
@@QUICKBOOKS1 or just burn it at home but cool I guess bro
Looking back at this scene, I realize how sad it is. Jimmy getting to this point in his life, have to throw away everything. He’s basically a man that’s been through the ringer... and he didn’t win
He did make a ton of money and kept much of it. Ofcourse he can't flash it around though, and has to lie low.
he became a multimillionaire escaping from the cartel, and the dea, while almost all of his clients either died like dogs ( walt,mike,nacho...) or ended up with no money like jesse
trafalgar gunner well Jesse did end up with some money but not clear how much ..his story ended relatively well

I don't know why, but that moment of hesitation in his voice really got to me. He's been so consumed by his "Saul Goodman" persona that he seemed to have forgotten his actual name. Or at the very least is so disassociated with Jimmy McGill he barely remembers who he once was.

Dam. How upset he looks after the call. Glad to see more of Walt’s destruction on the lives of everyone around him
Walt was like a goddamn wrecking ball!
Brutalearll Saul, Mike, Jane, Jesse, Francesca made their decisions. Choosing money or drugs over right and wrong.
Saul did choose the wrong path yes, but what have we seen? Drug king pins, crooked police officers. Jimmy turned a blind eye to Walt’s poising of brock. And the whole drug thing. But in the grand scheme of things. Since the season 4 finale. It makes sense why jimmy wants to defend the low life’s or the shoplifters. He sees himself in them as slipping jimmy. And sees that they deserve a second chance. And really Saul was in it for the money. As there’s no shortage of people doing dumb crimes. His fault or not. I love this character. And seeing him broken is a dam shame. No matter how happy jimmy is. It all leads to this and gene. Amazing show. Just like BR BA
He had a look of , “ I’m gonna miss all of this ....”
@thelunaticfringe yea it's sad but saul kept wanting to push it.
Saul Goodman's office has now been turned into a sports bar; as for Los Pollos Hermanos, it's turned back into Twisters.

Duh. I just realized he just referred to himself as Jimmy in the Breaking Bad years
starbuck4774 in the “Better Call Saul” episode it makes it ironic because he talks about “Jimmy In-N-Out” going to prison
Zachary Yan he also tells Walt “my real name is McGill”
Arian Serrano then for some reason that’s the last time in the series we hear that name ...
@@zacharyyan4898 Jimmy took 80.000$, 50k for Jimmy and 30k for Jimmy. Then, Jimmy goes to prison and Jimmy contacts the cook to cook more so that Jimmy can make more money from the sidelines. Also, Jimmy defends Jimmy in court so that Jimmy doesn't sit in jail as long and can go to jail for Jimmy's clients again.
RIP Ed 😔 what a great actor..

Robert Forster played "Ed" the vacuum sales guy. He passed away the day El Camino released on Netflix
he'll be on BCS season 5
Legend has it, that he called in for a new dust filter for his Hoover Max Extract Pressure Pro model 60.
Yeah, but I think just for the first episode in season 5, I dont think hes in anymore after that, maybe well get to see how jimmy finds out about him, I have a feeling nacho will be Ed's first client
Bob Odenkirk is simply phenomenal. From the difference of Jimmy and Saul’s speech down to something as small as his mannerisms, he seriously nails it.
It’s kind of weird that while Saul is panicking here he’s still got things under control and meanwhile Walt and Jesse are going through their own personal hells.
The ironic thing is that he has an exit strategy with a fairly smooth landing pad, but what he's entering really is his personal hell - a life where he must avoid the spotlight and avoid being memorable at all costs. A life where fear isn't a wild dance partner, but an ever-present enemy. A life where he can use NONE of his natural skills except maybe the having a decent head for numbers, and even then all those numbers are doing is counting cinnamon roll sales.
And if he had just taken the job from Howard, he could be living the high life AND helping some people along the way. Instead...
@@pantslesswrock While I do agree with almost everything you’re saying, I don’t believe it was possible for Jimmy to accept the job offer from Howard, if you’re talking about the one in season 5. At that point Jimmy was already in too deep as he had already done a job for Lalo and was on his way to becoming a “friend of the cartel”. I don’t think it would have been possible for him to just stop interacting with Lalo and go be a regular attorney and one of the biggest law firms in the state.
@@nickraad77 That's a really good point! But that's also absolutely not what's stopping him. Like, he, the king of justifications, never even hints at that being the rationalization.
I feel like once again, we have a Gilligan protagonist that may have quasi-justified reasons for doing what they are doing, but pride and envy are the real reason and the downfall.
Also, I feel like if Jimmy had been able to transition the TV show of his life from a prestige crime drama to more of a Good Wife-esque funny sexy law procedural with big twists that Howard was pitching him, him getting arrested would have been the big cliffhanger to Season 2, but by that time he's got enough people on his side that they are able to get Jimmy clear and back at work by the next mid-season finale.
OOH BUT IN THE THIRD SEASON FINALE WE FIND OUT SAUL STILL EXISTS AND HAS BEEN DOING CRIME STUFF AT NIGHT WITH JIMMY'S BODY

Anyone else watching this scene on a Breaking Bad binge between Ozymandias and Granite State?
You can tell he's holding back tears when he calls Ed. While he is talking they film a black hole where his life and excitement used to be. That's his heart, there's nothing left inside.
This scene was such a treat! 🎁
There is something about Jimmy that makes me wanna hug him during this scene
I totally thought the phone call would be to Kim confirming that she didn't die by the end of Better Call Saul.
Idk why everyone thinks she has die but it makes laugh. They're most likely going to break up once Jimmy goes full Saul and she can't take it anymore
She dies in Episode 8 of Season 5. Jimmy gets mixed up with the Salamanca Cartel when he helps Emilio out, Lalo ends up killing Kim while looking for Jimmy because Jimmy knows too much and Lalo cannot trust him. Lalo is killed in Episode 9 by Nacho and Mike, but Gus cannot have that become public Knowledge to anyone so he makes Nacho leave town via the Disappearer, and since Mike wont leave his Daughter in-law and his granddaughter, Gus makes Mike swear secrecy, there is an underlying respect but Gus also implies consequences should Mike break this secrecy. So Mike cannot tell Jimmy that Kim was avenged, and Jimmy now believes that the Cartel will still be after him. Mike suggests he leaves town via the Disappearer as well, but Jimmy refuses. He is mourning but he isnt afraid to die.

Things only got RED HOT for Saul aka Jimmy after 2 DEA agents went missing...presumed dead. They even took Skinny Pete in and tried to give him the "hard sell" but it was awesome getting El Camino a fitting end for Jesse, and next year we finally wrap up this saga for good with the conclusion of Jimmy aka Saul aka Gene. Ah, the satisfying sound of the cell phone breakage.
He really wanted that hug from his busty assistant and I think she knew it lol
You know, you just made that part a lot more creepier and, unfortunately, it's probably the actual reason why he wanted to hug her.
Whole lotta waiting only to find out this scene only led to some trivial breaking bad closure and some not so good other details for Jimmy. But I guess it connects the dots on what seems to be the end of Gene (and the series for that matter). Let's hope for the best.
Going through BB last time for a long time. Watching this just before starting Granite Slate is perfect

Ryan Shead ding ding ding!
Funny you should say that
One thing i never fully comprehended - why is Saul "red hot and has to disappear? He was Heisenberg's laywyer, not really an accomplice. Kind of yes, but then every criminal's lawyer would have to be afraid of prosecution, they all help them to get away with crime. And I don't think anybody wanted to kill him, Fring's operation was gone and the Cartel pretty much as well.
This is a really good question that I've also wondered about. I think it may have to do with the fact that at this moment in time, Hank and Steve Gomez were just murdered and Saul was somebody who dealt with them frequently and represented Walt (now openly known to the world as THE Heisenberg) and Jesse and Mike and pretty much anybody else that was involved. I don't think Saul would've had to run if the murder of two DEA agents weren't involved. That is what exploded the whole situation. He knew the cops were going to question him and detain him at least for criminal conspiracy, because of what's happened and how little information they have other than Walt's phone call to Skyler. At this point, nobody in their right mind would represent Saul in court and only a guilty man represents himself. Saul ALSO has loads and loads of dirty money, which the cops would've indefinitely found sooner or later, which incriminates Saul absolutely.
So I think the reason he ran and said he is "red-hot" is because he wanted to keep his money and he didn't want to face the heat that would've unfolded on him once the cops started looking into everything. Walt already ran at this point, nobody knew where Jesse was except for Walt, Saul was really the only person that the cops would've turned to for detailed information and once they started digging, he knew that he was going to get fucked eventually.
Bro Saul is screwed. The DEA or FBI don’t give a jack if he was a lawyer or not. They know Walt & Jesse were his clients and that he was aware of their doings. They are after him
@Matt Sandelin
I don`t think that cops could ask Saul to give them any info about Walt, attorney-client privilege ( both attorney and client are protected). You could admit any crime to your legal defender for that matter. The only liability for Saul at this point is Jesse, and as you said he can be accused for criminal conspiracy if Jesse talks. I don`t think dirty money is a problem for Saul, it`s just physical problem because money is not in the system ( laundered yet), and can easily be hidden.
In terms of evidence, DEA didn`t have any material evidence against Walt, except Jesse`s testimony and latter his buried money, so I think that only problem for Saul is Jesse ratting him out eventually.
mikkel hansen that’s a good point, but if that’s true, then there isn’t much of a reason for Saul to be saying he’s “red-hot”. He might be afraid of Jesse ratting but I also think he realizes the reality of 2 dead DEA agents and that the story will end up coming out one way or another. I don’t think attorney-client privilege will hold up if they find anything on saul i.e. his safe full of dirty money. This incriminates him and rids his status of legal defender and makes him an accessory, and a facilitator. Of course he can launder that money and be okay, but there clearly isn’t enough time for that and he can no longer do that in Albuquerque because of what’s happened. Which is why he runs with it elsewhere to turn a new leaf, or atleast try to.
He is a lawyer, he knows there is no material evidence against him, in this scene he actually destroys what is left of the documentation that incriminates him and takes the money out. He is afraid of Jesse, cause he knows DEA got him. In "Rabid Dog" he proposed to Walt to kill Jesse, but Walt denies.
On the side note, why do you think he asks Francesca " Where`re you gonna be on November 12th 3pm"? That is beginning of a new plot, something that happened while Walt is in New Hampshire.

@@adamobrien9019 I'm interested. Up to date
@@ChArLie360115 okay cool didn’t want to ruin anything!
Well firstly I think that after what just happened to Howard, I think Kim has now decided to leave jimmy. I don’t think she’ll blame jimmy for what happened as we know his heart wasn’t in this plan against Howard, he thought it was over the top, unfair and that he didn’t deserve it, she was the one who pushed it all the way. I think that she will feel like even though she loves jimmy, she hates who she’s become/becoming around him, and that he does bring out a side of her that she doesn’t like (similar to the flashback scene we saw of her mother when she got caught shoplifting) which has had disastrous results.
I think they’ll be forced by Lalo to help him which will take up quite a bit of the final episodes, jimmy will think/hope that when they finish with Lalo that they can go back to normal but she will say they can’t, things have changed and she needs to be away from him.
Without Kim around and also the pain of losing her, there’ll be nothing left for him to lose, no risk or worry about his actions and he’ll just go full Saul and turn into what we see in breaking bad
@@adamobrien9019 i think the same way.
Many people are theorizing on kim's dying, but i can't see that happening at all. There is no way jimmy would stick to his criminal lawyer life if kim died. Especially if it was because of his actions regarding one of his shenanigans and criminal life.
@@Aswar211 ya I think there’s a near 0% chance that Kim dies. There’s just no way after everything we’ve seen that he would just carry on as the Saul goodman we see in breaking bad, her dying would completely destroy him. I know why he wants them in separate trashcans. He doesn't want to risk overflowing them with paper. I'm assuming it's a windy day and he doesn't want little pieces of paper flying everywhere. It's too hard to pick up.
No. It’s because in season 1 he picks the sandpiper shreddings out of the trash can
3 years ago? Holy shit
The speculation around that damn phone call. It was just Jimmy catching up with Francesca. Everyone thought it was going to be Kim or Cliff lol.
I have a feeling that Francesca's attorney will be Kim
Same
Onre of my favorite scenes.
1:49 the moment Jimmy/Saul became a fart in the wind.
I’ve just watched a video about colours in BCS. Red represents the criminal world. Blue represents the legal world. In this scene Jimmy is wearing a purple shirt, straddling the legal and illegal worlds. Is he in the criminal or legal world? Both. He can’t fully escape either one. Interestingly, Francesca is wearing red. Not blue, or orange, yellow, or brown, which are used to signal characters who are ambiguous or who are touched by the illegal world but not in the game. What she is doing for Jimmy is illegal. She accepts his cartel money. She is fully in.
Have not seen this theory. What if the phone call Saul was talking about is actually himself calling. To let her know where he is, so she can pass it along. They don't know where they are going when they call the vacuum guy at first do they?
jesse what the fuck are u talking about
We all know Saul has done some very serious things here and I can't wait to see what happens next.
I really wanted to see what really happened to his office when Saul had to leave town and of course on how what really happened to Francesca, and we all know what really happened to his bodyguards such as Huell when he is forced to stay in his safe house.
Also his whole office has now been turned into a sports bar.
some ppls says huell is still waiting in his safe house...
Nietrich I really hope we get a resolution to that. I’m dying to know how Huel is
Huell is still in that goddamm safe house btw, and even started a family and tv show in it. Huells rules.

What if someone _actually_ needs a new dust filter for their Hoover Max Extract Pressure Pro, model 60?
Then Ed galbraith's business is doomed
I think I heard somewhere that the model doesn't have a dust filter. Could be wrong.
I guess the key word is "Red hot".
I need to call a vacuum place and say that iconic line
Where was Kim during the Breaking Bad era, and will she return to help Jimmy and both of them meet up with Jesse after El Camino. Crazy but I hope so.
November 12th is Jimmy's birthday!
This is the moment saul became gene takovic
