When you look at how much Sony 16-55G cost ($1200) and it comes without lens stabilization, Tamron 17-70 is an absolute bargain. It is not just for ZVE10, its size suits FX30 perfectly, and FX30 owners will be more happy to spend $800 on a lens hence I say Tamron 17-70 is the only lens you need for FX30.
Yes. I may make that FX30 17-70 video, waiting to get the Sigma 18-50 to compare. I may make an FX30 17-70 and 18-50 video all in one. I can't recommend the 18-50 on the ZV-E10, due to the lack of lens IS.
I prefer the 10-18 and 18-105 combination. Rarely need to change lenses, and when I do, it is to put on a f1.4 from the Sigma 16, 30, and 56 trio. That way I get power zoom, OSS, and low light performance with a smallish kit, and if I need to take just one lens, the 18-105 f4 PZ OSS is the most versatile lens for my kind of work.
@@markwiemels It is a great lens, and f4 is only one stop slower than f2.8. The power zoom is really useful for this zoom range, and 105 is useful reach.
@@artistjoh The 18-105 is a decent “do-it-all” lens but I’m a little disappointed in the sharpness (especially at the edges around 18mm) and the minimum focusing distance. It’s not terrible but I wish it was a little better in those areas for the price
@@Nicksperiments As you say, it is a decent performer, that while not perfect, it is the compromiser that becomes a "do-it-all" lens. Perhaps for stills photography the sharpness can be complained about, but lets face it, this was designed for video, and buyers are buying it for video, and it is plenty sharp enough for video resolutions, especially for RUclips. I also remember writing a message to Sony support before I bought it asking if it is parfocal or not. They answered that they had asked the engineers and they said it is not optically parfocal but is designed to communicate with the camera AF to keep it in focus as zooming so it is effectively parfocal. That was plenty good enough for me. There are plenty of technically sharper lenses that are not parfocal, and behaving as parfocal is what is most important to me. And the optically parfocal ones tend to be expensive. It also has a focal range that is very useful, from wide enough to use it as an only lens, to excellent tele reach on APS-C. And the power zoom is worth its weight in gold. At its relatively lowish price point it has to have compromises, but when balancing price, size and weight, parfocal behavior, power zoom, and good enough sharpness for video, it is a great choice for video shooters with limited funds. There is good reason why it tends to be well liked by most of those who use it, and most of us agree with you that it is "decent" and "do-it-all." and are happy with that :)
I had a 17-70 and for some reason it got ruined with just a year of purchase and is filled with humidity in the front element. It is by far the worst lens i've had. I had this lens stored in the same place as a sigma 30mm 1.4 which doesn't have weather sealing and 0 humidity. The humidity fully ruined the lens and all pictures look dirty and hassy and warranty doesn't cover the damages and is expensive to repair, maybe i had a defective weather seal, but it is a big issue that made mine useless
Hey Mark. I plan to buy the zv e-10 mainly to do home/family/vacation videos. Would you say this lens is appropriate or are there better alternatives for video with similar functionality? Thanks
Do you recommend this lense for shooting RUclips beauty contents? I’m totally new to this and I need something that gives professional quality videos while it’s beginner friendly 😅
From memory you put it "on", just not in the active mode with the huge crop. "on" or standard, should just use the lens IS, active turns on the Digital with the huge crop in.
I just got my Sony ZV E10, I am new to photography. Is there a cheaper lens you would recommend with good quality? I pretty much will use it to take pictures of me and my wife now when we travel
Commenting here for the same, just jumped from the mobile photography using ZVE10 bought it 2 weeks back, cannot afford pricey lenses since its not my primary profession, just warming up as a serious hobby so one day i would do professional stuff with this!.
Hello marks! Thanks for the great video, it's just what I needed. Do you think the sum of the lens stabilization and the Zve10 stabilization will be good for video shooting of my excursions to abandoned places, or is a gimbal necessary? If don't need a gimbal, is the crop on the image for stabilization high? Thank you very much in case of a reply!
I bought this lens and have been wanting to compare it to the sigma 18-50. The range and stabilization seem better on the Tamron but I live abroad and wonder how much the smaller form factor of the sigma would impact my usage vs the loss of range and stabilization. I love this lens and got it for 400 dollars barely used so worse case scenario I can sell it and buy the sigma. It’s a nice problem to have though having a lens this nice and versatile
Me too. Same two lenses bought together (selling my Sony 18-104, my old Sigma 30mm and the 16-50 kit). The 17-70 is pretty good, but I really love the 18-300.
I have to ask, are your photos on the video from the Vic Alpine area? (Bright/Porepuinkah/Mount Beauty etc.) Some of the landscape looks very familiar.
when you factor in the crop factor the f2.8 is like f4.2 on full frame? then the full frame 24-105mm f4 has more range and is a tiny bit brighter at the same time?
From a light gathering standpoint, f2.8 is the same on crop or full frame, so that's the point I was referencing. when it come to DOF it does get a bit more complicated, and the f2.8 on FF is better than APS-C.
I don’t know if I should get one. I have the sony a7 i rarely ever used but I just bought a tamron 28-75mm 2.8 last year for it (full frame). I really wish i could use those lens without spending $1000+ on a new body for 4k video.
Just purchased the ZV-E10 but really tight on funds for lenses. I also purchase the Viltrox speed booster for EF to E mount. Would the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM Canon EF be a good lens?? Any thoughts for lenses in my situation using the Viltrox??
Compared to sirui nightwalker/sniper, which one should I choose for all around use? Mostly I need to use it to make indoor content, but sometimes for family trips
Might be a stupid question but I’m just getting into golf course photography. I bought this lens for my Zac-e10. Is there a video on how to set up this lens or do u just plug it in and go?
Hey @markwiemels , please recommend me some good sony or Third party budget lens for sony Zve10 . Or should i buy this with kit lens . Any other suggestions lens to buy while not buying kit lens and buying only body can save some money and can be invested in a better lens that can give good results than tha kit lens itself. WAiting for your suggestions..
I’m looking to buy the Sony A7III or A7IV but im not sure if I should stay with the kit lens or get something like the Sony 18-105. Also can’t decide between the Sony 85mm f1.8 or the Tamron 85mm f1.4 series II for portrait shots
I have both, and have been meaning to do a comparison video. Very hard, both are great. The small size of the Sigma is pretty great. Image quality is just as good in both, Sigma gives your a better price and smaller size, Tamron gives you more range and image stabilisation. If you are big into portraits, then the Tamron is a clear winner with 70mm, but the portability of the Sigma is so good for travel and be far more inconspicuous.
7:46... No, not exactly. The "f" number is not a unit and does not represent "how big the opening is in the back of the lens". This number is the result of a ratio, between the diameter of the front lens element and the actual focal lens of the item. It is a relative value, as opposed to the "T" number, more common in the cinema industry, which is the actual light transmittance capability of the item. It is crucial to be accurate when speaking about iris and all things related to, otherwise it creates this whole huge misunderstanding we see all around us about lenses, apertures, intensity of light reaching a sensitive surface (film or digital sensor).
I would grab this lens for sure if I didn't already have the Sony 18-105. The f/4 on that Sony lens isn't the best but other than that it's a great lens.
I have this lens and ZV-E10 but recently bought the Sigma 18-50 and a Sony FE 85 1.8. I feel the 18-105 might not be needed anymore, the other two make a really great compact dual-lens setup.
@@maryaiky Sigma is tiny so if weight is important the first choice, the Tamron has vibration control and a longer zoom but is much bigger and heavier. Both give superb images in both photography and video. Try both and see what suits you.
When you factor in that the Sony 24-105 f4 full frame lens has the same reach (1mm wider actually), the same light gathering capacity (FF is at least one stop better compared to APS-C), optical image stabilisation, superior focusing, similar weight, then the only thing that stands for this lens is the price.
I have this lens on the Sony FX30. I like it over all, but I don't like the Bokeh. It is not a dreamy blur, it has the image doubling effect. and it has a strange effect where you can have things close to the camera and the distant images has the same amount of out of focus blur. And the Stabilization is wonky on Tamron. It locks and jerks weirdly. Common to Tamron. But beyond that it is a great lens for the price.
It has some great features/specs but as you noted it is so big for such a small camera, the challenge of having the equivalent of several lenses in one. Might even be a good fit for handheld video with the proposed Sony 6700 if it has decent IBIS as well! Great overview!
Hi! A newbie question about lenses. I have the Sony ZV-E10 and I need a wide lens that won’t be a fish-eye lens. Maybe an 11mm or so. How can you tell if a wide or super wide lens is a fish-eye lens? When you go down to 10mm or so, is there necessarily a fish-eye effect? How can I tell that a lens is “normal” (no distortion around the edges)?
Fisheye lenses will be called fisheye, as a rule. Have a look at the reviews, on RUclips, of any given lens, for exactly how much distortion, or what kind of images, you can expect.
have you compared this to the Sigma 15 - 50mm for the Sony?? I am really struggling to choose between the two... Primarily used for video but I also want to do a little more photography.. I also already have the Sony e11 ultra wide lens already but with that I am really missing the ability to ZOOM into some a little further away when filming. thanks
I just go it, but have not used it yet. If your camera has ibis, then the sigma is a viable option, if not, the lens IS in the Tamron is a huge advantage.
Excellent review and exactly what I was looking for as I also want to purchase this combination. Remains two questions though. I have read a few times that the stabilization of the camera and that of the lens work against each other in video (strange image wobbles). Is that true? I don't see it in your images. I want to start stabilizing the video images that are too shaky anyway with the free Sony software: Catalyst browse. Do you have any experience with that? Thanks for your reply and greetings from the Netherlands.
dang, I was looking at the sigma 18-50mm but saw you just got that one too? Keen and interested to hear your thoughts between the this tamron and the sigma 18-500mm.
Hi Mark, I've t watching a lot of your videos and Have a bit of a choice dilemma. I'm stuck between choosing a canon M50 M2 or a Sony zv E10 as a starter camera for RUclips, I've tried both . The lack of touchscreen on the sony is annoying , but the canon 's 30 min limit is also not great. What do you suggest
Your review deserves better amount of likes. I have relative question: is this camera have a feature in the monitor to display token photos vertically?
Hi, I have Sony zve10 but I really can’t decide best lens for my camera. Are you sure this lens has best for photography and video? Specially for night mode?!
Jup, great lens! Although I recently went with the combo of Sigma 18-50 2.8 and Sony 10-20 F4. Same size, much wider. But, that's for the a6600 of course :) No OIS! I'll be adding a 70-350 Sony later for sort of holy trinity for APSC. And there is a lens that has all those features on FF, the Sony 24-105 F4. The close-up option is less good but still pretty nice, especially with an extension tube.
@@markwiemels thank you for your response. It’s really appreciated. We bought our 15 yr old son his first camera. I wanted something entry and hybrid that was versatile for him. I bought it with the kit lense since time was running out coming into Christmas. But my question also is in your professional opinion. What are two budget lenses for the Sony zv e10 in regards to replacement for the kit lense that would allow him to shoot close or extend out that has image stabilization with AF/Manual mode so that he can be ready with one lense instead of swapping to get a shot. And on the second lense, the best budget lense that has a f2.8 though full zoom with the same AF/Manul mode and features as I stated on the other lense. We are new to this and there are so many lense options but are trying to keep price point down for him but also get him into gear that is beneficial. Sorry for being so long winded.
This point you make at 2:49 is kinda false information 17-70mm equals 25.5-105 on Sony APS-C F2.8 equals F4.2 on Sony Fullframe. So basically this is like the famous 24-105 F4 from Canon, just this one is only 200g more, got more features and is a full frame lens
f2.8 on APS-C is the same size opening and light throughput as it is on full frame. So while we can debate some equivalency to full frame, the 1.5 times thing is oversimplified, not exactly true.
@@Miguel-fm8xh if they are actually using the same scale as all photography lenses then yes. I suspect they are the same, but I think the focal lengths they quote are not the same (I think they are doing the equivalency calculation). So they may call it a 28mm when it’s actually a 4mm or something crazy, but I’m not really a phone camera expert, so not entirely sure.
Hey Mark! Great video as always! (Keep it up) I have a question. I'm studying to be a filmaker and I need a camera. I'm searching for a cheap one but that can last me a long time. I don't need 4K for now so it's not a problem. I want a camera that looks like film, not for vlogging and that stuff. If you have any suggestions please tell me! Thanks in advace!
I would get a used mirrorless and adapt vintage lenses. Maybe a Canon EOS RP or an M6 Mark II. For even less, I would look at an old Panasonic, like the GH3.
You forgot to mention the kit lens is 7 times cheaper than this nice lens. And 2,8 not super bright too for night shots. But yes, lens is great ! Kit lens perfect beginner lens with nice practical results. Looks reviews.
This is actually a common misconception. The argument could be made that the performance is similar, but f2.8 on aps-c is the same as f2.8 on full frame, same size opening, same amount of light.
Damn I wanted to order Sigma 18-50mm for my Fuji but now after seeing your review on that Tamron (which is also available on x mount) I feel like I should shell out a bit more money and buy this beast. Great review as always Mark.
The extra range is huge, and you get IS. I have ordered the Sigma 18-50, and plan to do a comparison video. It was on back order so not sure how long it will be before I get it and make the video.
I decided the Tamron was too big, heavy and expensive for my ZV-E10. You won't regret buying the Sigma eiher. My opinion is that the choice is not that easy. If you are used too a heavier camera the choice for a Tamron becomes more obvious.
@@markwiemels I will wait for the video then, very curious about them. Will probably end up just getting both eventually but seems like Tamron offers more for just a bit more. Sigma main advantage is definetly size.
I've been binge-watching a number of your videos and they're great, your presentation is amazing and you got a great presence. But dude what does it take to find out what freaking lens you're talking about? Consistently and almost every video it's ridiculous LOL. It's not in any chapter if you have a chapter, it's not on the screen you don't show it anywhere and someone that might want to let you know scroll through quickly can't find anything until what a microsecond maybe even near the end. You got to do something about that it's very frustrating. Otherwise you're great.
There is no fullframe lens like this? You must be kidding. Every 24-105mm f4 will give you exactly the same results on fullframe. It is still nice to have it on APSC. What you're saying it just not correct. The crop means that this lens is equivalent to a 25,5-105mm f4.2. So This is actually just 95% of what the 24-105 gives you. But for example the Lumix version or Sony versions are slightly sharper at f4 than this one is at f2.8...
Full Frame equivalency does not effect light transmission, so f2.8 on crop is the same as f2.8 on Full Frame. So this is f2.8 AND has IS. If I need an f2.8 zoom, with a hugely versatile range, and IS, I use this lens, even on my full frame cameras. There is no Full Frame Equivalent.
@@markwiemels But why would you prefer a f2.8 APSC over a F4 full frame, if full frame gives you much cleaner Images at higher ISO's. On the ZV E10 Iso 800 is comparable to Iso 4000ish on most modern full frame cameras. Some are even better, for example A7S III, ZV E1, S1, S5, S5 II, just to name a few.
@@MarvinDeufrains People generally shoot APS-C based on price or size, and some APS-C, or super 35 cameras, do out perform some Full Frame at high ISO. F2.8 is twice the light of f4, and as an example, my S5 II might be better than my Fx30 at high ISO, but not twice as good (anecdotally, I have not done a side by side test). Plus, you can shoot this lens on full frame in crop mode, which I do on the A7IV.

I have the same setup and I also have the Tamron 70-300 and that’s all the lens I need! The ZV E10 is a beast with this lens and focal range
I want to check out that 70-300 too, looks good. I'm a big fan of the Tamron lenses.
I have the same set up
I'm using the Sony 16-70mm F4 lens with Optical Steady Shot inside. Should I turn Steady Shot off or leave it on Standard for the ZV-E10?
From memory you put it "on", just not in the active mode with the huge crop. "on" or standard, should just use the lens IS, active turns on the Digital with the huge crop in.
Which lens?
I bought this lense last fall, it is great. I also bought the Tamron 18 to 300mm for outdoor.
Me too. Same two lenses bought together (selling my Sony 18-104, my old Sigma 30mm and the 16-50 kit). The 17-70 is pretty good, but I really love the 18-300.
Also picked up both lenses for fuji 2 weeks ago. Payed $1000 for both! Crazy value and I love them both. What a bargin!!
@@AllRedLFC a bargain for real! I paid more or less the same for both. The 18-300 was second hand, while the 17-70 was new with cashback
Me too with Tamron 17-70, 18-300 and Viltrox 23mm f1.4
I have to ask, are your photos on the video from the Vic Alpine area? (Bright/Porepuinkah/Mount Beauty etc.) Some of the landscape looks very familiar.
Tasmania.
when you factor in the crop factor the f2.8 is like f4.2 on full frame? then the full frame 24-105mm f4 has more range and is a tiny bit brighter at the same time?
2.8 on APSC is 2.8 on FF (or MFT for that matter) as far as the amount of light let in. The difference you referenced relates to depth of field.
From a light gathering standpoint, f2.8 is the same on crop or full frame, so that's the point I was referencing. when it come to DOF it does get a bit more complicated, and the f2.8 on FF is better than APS-C.
For brightness factor it is 2.8, but to compare it on the basis of quantum of blurriness it can produce it is equal to f4 on full frame body
This for sure.
Might be a stupid question but I’m just getting into golf course photography. I bought this lens for my Zac-e10. Is there a video on how to set up this lens or do u just plug it in and go?
*ZV
Hi, do you have any video to fix “not recognized the lens, attached it properly” warning for ZVE10? Or someone can tell me how to fix it?
Would you prefer this lense over the Sigma 18-50 f2.8. I am not sure which one to buy, both look great! Shooting couple of videos too.
@@markwiemels That are my thoughts. I guess I just have to go for one and think I‘ll choose the less pricey option.. Thanks for your help!
@@god0t honestly, there is no wrong choice here, both great lenses.
Hi , rly nice Video , this lens or Sony E 15 mm F1.4 G >?
Thanks for the video! Do you need an adaptor to use this lens with the ZV-E10?
no.
I connected my Tamron lens to Sony zv e10 and I’m not getting any focus beyond 17mm. The focus ring doesn’t work. Any settings I need to change?
I got the exact same setup with the Smalrig cage and my cage is also kind of empty, not built out. :D
I would grab this lens for sure if I didn't already have the Sony 18-105. The f/4 on that Sony lens isn't the best but other than that it's a great lens.
It's a great range, but agree, in some situations f4 isn't great on APS-C, but I bet the 105mm f4 images looks really nice.
I have this lens and ZV-E10 but recently bought the Sigma 18-50 and a Sony FE 85 1.8. I feel the 18-105 might not be needed anymore, the other two make a really great compact dual-lens setup.
@@Sonic-Boom so which do you think is better, tamron or sigma?
@@maryaiky Sigma is tiny so if weight is important the first choice, the Tamron has vibration control and a longer zoom but is much bigger and heavier. Both give superb images in both photography and video. Try both and see what suits you.
@@Sonic-Boom thanks
Hello, I would get a used Sony 18-105 mm F4 for my Sony Zv e10 from a friend for €300, would you still go for the Tamron 17-70mm?
This lense and off road video action, can you still reconmend it you think?
Great lens review Mark! I'm from Tasmania and the highlight of your video was recognising some of our beautiful scenery in your photo's 😃
Oh, that's cool! We love it there.
It has some great features/specs but as you noted it is so big for such a small camera, the challenge of having the equivalent of several lenses in one. Might even be a good fit for handheld video with the proposed Sony 6700 if it has decent IBIS as well! Great overview!
Thanks, yes, it can replace a bag full of lenses.
Plz suggest the all rounder lens for cinematography + photography plz suggest all rounder lens for sony zv e10
Dos this lens have auto focus? I, looking for a lightweight zoom for my "cinema" Sony FS7 Mark2 an ASPC camera. Any thoughts?
Yes, it does.
how if sony zv-e10 use Sony FE 20-70mm F4 G lens? its good? or the lens to high?
@markwiemels
How does it compare to a sigma 24-70mm f2.8 art sony
I would probably gimbal it then when filming.
24-70 is not nearly as useful on APS-C, as 17-70.
@@markwiemels thank you for bringing my wishes into Christmas tree price range ❤️
can anyone tell me about this lens - tamron 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD (Model B061) is an all-in-one zoom lens for Sony E for SONY ZV E 10?
Hi. Would this lens still autofocus on my EV-Z10, when needed for moving subjects, even though it’s not a Sony. Thank you.
Yes, just like a Sony lens. This company is part owned by Sony.
@@markwiemels Thank you so much!! You have saved me tons of time. Apparently my Google skills are in bad shape. 🙂
What lens would you reccomend for someone on the PC like a Gamer?
@@markwiemels Thank you! Wishes for all the best Mark.
I really like that camera. I want to use it for RUclips videos and pictures when I travel. Is that lens good for those 2 things?
Yea, for sure.
Please do review of sony 18-105mm lens. Awaiting for your review❤
have you compared this to the Sigma 15 - 50mm for the Sony?? I am really struggling to choose between the two... Primarily used for video but I also want to do a little more photography.. I also already have the Sony e11 ultra wide lens already but with that I am really missing the ability to ZOOM into some a little further away when filming.
thanks
I just go it, but have not used it yet. If your camera has ibis, then the sigma is a viable option, if not, the lens IS in the Tamron is a huge advantage.
@@markwiemels I have a Sony ZV-E10
thanks for your reply :)
Really enjoying your videos. Do you like the Sony A6700 I first purchased the ZV-E10 and exchanged it for the A6700??
I love it
Excellent review and exactly what I was looking for as I also want to purchase this combination.
I have ordered the 18-50, just so I can compare them and make recommendations. The lens is on backorder, so not sure how long until I get it in.
Do these lenses also work for car photography and posing?
Yes.
Hi Mark, I've t watching a lot of your videos and
Have a bit of a choice dilemma. I'm stuck between choosing a canon M50 M2 or a Sony zv E10 as a starter camera for RUclips, I've tried both . The lack of touchscreen on the sony is annoying , but the canon 's 30 min limit is also not great. What do you suggest
I would get the Sony, but you should also look at the Canon R10.
Your review deserves better amount of likes.
I have relative question: is this camera have a feature in the monitor to display token photos vertically?
Very useful video, thanks a lot! Quick question, does the image stabilisation on this camera crop in like t he Sony steady shot? Thank you
No, the lens based IS does not crop.
Hi, I have Sony zve10 but I really can’t decide best lens for my camera. Are you sure this lens has best for photography and video? Specially for night mode?!
Yes
what difference does this lens have compared to the kit lens? would it be worth picking up?
Should be able to tell from the video and samples. Everything about it is better, other than it's bigger.
I have just ordered the sigma 18-50, looking forward to checking that one out.
Could it be used for shooting sports for a beginner trying to keep low budget?
Yes. As long as 70mm is zoomed in enough for what you are shooting.
What is a good Like this one that offers automatic focus and Manuel focus with the same feature set
Would this lens be good for the new Zv-e1 interested in getting it
Thanks for the review! I'm starting in nightclub photography, do you think this lense would be a good option? Thanks!
It depends on how much light you have. You might also need an f1.4 fixed focal length lens too, like a 23 or 35mm.
Which gimbal would balance the ZV-E10 and that Tamron lens?
Thanks
WeeBill 3s might be your best best. None of the really small gimbals will do it.
I own the a6400 and fx30 this lense covers both my cameras 🤷♂️🔥 thanks for reaffirming my purchase 🤩
I honestly could not recommend it highly enough.
This point you make at 2:49 is kinda false information
17-70mm equals 25.5-105 on Sony APS-C
F2.8 equals F4.2 on Sony Fullframe.
So does this mean F1.4 on phones equals F1.4 on real cameras in terms of light?@@markwiemels
Thanks for this video. Sigma trio or this one?
Very Hard. For travel, I prefer the zoom, for the ease and versatility. In a studio setting, I use prime/fixed lenses, so the trio for that.
@@markwiemels Thanks for your reply.
How many frames you use, Or do you use a high shutter speed?
For Video do you mean? I shoot 25 fps for video.
hi. what do you think about the tamron 18-300mm?
Have not tested that one, but I have been impressed with every Tamron that I have used.
how to activate vc tamron on sony zv e10?
Does anyone know if this lens has a matte box that fits it?
Truly a very versatile lens 😲
How is the auto focus with this lens ?
Thanks man ❤
@@markwiemels Thanks a lot!
the new $3000 Canon 24-105mm f/2.8 Z lens now has these features half a year after you made this video.
You forgot to mention the kit lens is 7 times cheaper than this nice lens. And 2,8 not super bright too for night shots.
But yes, lens is great ! Kit lens perfect beginner lens with nice practical results. Looks reviews.
This lens is truly a homerun.
You have royal Enfield bike ?
You’re the best dude!!!
Thank you for your kind words!
actually is a 24-105 f4 in fullframe numbers
This is actually a common misconception. The argument could be made that the performance is similar, but f2.8 on aps-c is the same as f2.8 on full frame, same size opening, same amount of light.
Great lens, but I actually prefer the Sigma 18-50. That being said, both are great. Be well Mark. Hang in there bro…
Thanks, yes, I have both and they are both great!
Great video as always. Keep up the good work.
Thanks again!
Sigma main advantage is definetly size.
i think this lens not for gimble users ?
You would need a mid-sized gimbal or bigger.
Enter Tamron 35-150mm F2-2.8
I couldn’t vlog with this tho ?
17mm is right on the cusp of wide enough, you can.
I ended up getting 18-300
I just wish the aperture was a F1.4.. it will be the best lens on the world
I've been binge-watching a number of your videos and they're great, your presentation is amazing and you got a great presence.
You look like the guy at the camera store that sold me on this camera lol
Thanks for buying the camera from me. It’s nice to hear from you again.
