Good afternoon, dear Paul! Feeling like all your followers and those who leave a comment below your videos are already a BIG Clark family! We all are waiting for these magic Wednesdays for a good dose of art, learning and enjoying 25 mins of turning the white paper into a Masterpiece. Thank you for a great tutorial as always! Greetings from Moldova. Lilia Birnaz 🖌☀🎨
A Pelican Poem for one of my favorite watercolor mentors! Well, actually it's a limerick, if anyone remembers when limericks were recited. When I was a girl, my brothers and I loved this one, and we giggled when we recited it because we thought it was quite wicked to say some of the words. Of course, we didn't dare recite it around our grandmother, who would have probably washed our mouths out with soap.😀
A wondrous bird is the Pelican.
His beak can hold more than his belly can.
He can hold in his beak
Enough food for a week,
But I'm d*amned if I know how the h*elican.
See ... after all these years I still have to clean the words up. It's all so innocent compared to what today's young ones sometimes say! 😉
Wishing you well in your recovery and pleasant times on your retreat.
So glad to see you recovering well
Thank you for this lovely tutorial. The glistening water and the wood plank are too beautiful
Love these birds ❤ thank you for the tutorial. Can’t wait to try it. Used to be I’d say “omg no way could I do that!” But now after watching and learning from you,Paul, I’m so much more confident and adventurous. Thank you for being my teacher and for putting so much in to these amazing videos. Wishing you a quick and full recovery. Have a lovely working holiday.
Best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery. Thank you for continuing to teach and inspire us. The cropped photo became a beautiful painting through your eyes and paintbrush!
Good morning Paul so glad you’re feeling better. I’m a bit selfish to say my Wednesday morning would not be the same without seeing your videos❤! I love this composition of the pelicans. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent!
Have to watch and paint later. Please take good care of yourself, Paul.
Good morning and thank you so much for your time! Safe travels and good health to you!! I really enjoyed this process - I find "planning" is so key to painting - where to start, and where to go next - a puzzle for the brain!! Sometimes it can be daunting, but maybe that comes with time and continued painting. Love the washes on the pelicans creating the layers of feathers and the misty background. Amazing how you get the pier or dock to come to life!! Thank you again and enjoy the Canary Islands and take in some gorgeous sunsets with Margot!! :0)
So pleased you're making a good recovery, Mr. C. Lovely painting & gorgeous colours. The wooden pier looks so realistic. Thank you for sharing.
First and foremost- wishing you a speedy recovery and I hope you are feeling better! Just a beautiful painting and I can’t wait to have a go at it! Thank you for bringing color into our lives!
Good Morning, Paul!! Oh! I was a little worried about you. Best recovery for you!!!! This painting, as always, is really beautiful. Have fun on the trip and hello to dear Margot. :))
Awesome painting as always! And that tee shirt.....I can't even😅😅😅
Good afternoon dear Paul! I’m very glad to see you again, as always, on Wednesday in the watercolor studio! I would like to see a video on how to correctly draw underwater pebbles, small stones and boulders of a mountain stream or mountain river under water, so that it looks natural. Now I have a lot of work and sometimes they order me paintings with mountain landscapes. I really hope that such a video will appear with us soon. Thank you Paul for today’s lesson and I wish you all the best, good luck and health! I like 👍 and say goodbye until next Wednesday! Bye.. .bye...♥️♥️♥️🖐️😊🖼️🎨👏👏👏💖💖💖👍👍👍I'm glad that you are now recovering from the operation, and you look very cheerful and in a good mood. Sorry Paul, I kept thinking and wondering - why didn't you answer anyone in the last lesson? But now you're OK now and that makes me happy .P.S.What beautiful pelicans!
Good morning sir. I'm from India. I'm a fan of yours. Just want to learn how to draw এ perfect portrait by water colour.
@@swapnawriterarpaDear Mr. Swapna Writer! You are mistaken. Your comment reached me by mistake. You probably wrote it to Ser Paul? Please write him your comment again in a special line for viewers. Hello Paul,
Glad you are recovering from your surgery. It's commendable that inspite of the surgery , you still took time to make this video. 🎉🎉🎉.. your voice though was sounding tired , as if losing energy. .. hope you are not straining yourself. Please take care 💖
Loved your tutorial as always. In particular the amazing shadow work on the deck to give it the 3D effect as well the posts and Pelicans looking soooo real. 💯
Love all of it. Will definetly try. Probably first in portions to practice the beautiful shading.
Have a wonderful time at the retreat. Looking forward to more lovely tutorials upon your return. A big Hi to Margo. 💖
Ciao for now. 💖💖💖
Thanks again for the lovely tutorial, Paul!! 🙏🏻 I hope the next two weeks will go smoothly for you; I will have to re-watch more of your tutorials while you are away.
Good morning Paul, I hope you are healing up well ! These Pelicans are beautiful! Thank you , This is another amazing tutorial and very appreciated, I can’t find anyone that teaches quite like you! Thank you !

Hi Paul sorry to hear you have been having a problem but you look like you are recovering well and the sunshine will do you the world of good. I look forward to your tutorials of your visit on your return. Best wishes Judy ( one of your friends/pupils from Powder Mills)
Hello from Vancouver Washington! Paul, glad you are doing well! Your pelicans are lovely. I appreciate you so much. Your book and tutorials have taught me so much. You're a wonderful teacher and love your style.
Safe travels and hoping that you can rest and recover quickly in lovely La Gomera. Thank you for another great tutorial!
Enjoy the retreat. I'm happy you are well and that your surgery was a successful recovery. Still respect the healing process no matter.
I love this subject and the portrait format. I'll definitely give it a go and look forward to seeing your retreat inspirations. It's always fun!
Hi Paul, greetings from the USA! This is one of my favorite paintings as I am partial to birds! Thank you for all the wonderful tutorials - I learn so much from them, and love seeing everyone's posts of their works as well. I know the videos are not all 'real time' but I find myself rushing to try to mirror what appears to be speedy painting often with less than satisfactory results. I need to slow down! I can't wait to try this one of the pelicans! I am sending wishes for a speedy recovery and safe trip to La Gomera. Regards!
I agree with you. I find myself rushing to be as fast as the video ! I would love to see a real time video of a complete painting.
Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial. So beautiful and lively.
Get well fast and enjoy your retreat.
Very beautiful.
For past few days, cattle egrets that were seen mostly on the ground in the open spaces around, have been roosting on trees, lampposts and even rooftops.
I have been wanting to paint the scenes but didn't know how.
Maybe I can make an attempt now😊
Thank you for the tutorial.
Glad to see you are feeling better. A bit of trivia, from Door County Today web page: "A group of pelicans is called a pod. Actually, there are many other names for pelican groupings - a pouch, a scoop, a squadron or if they are fishing as a group, a fleet." Didn't know that. Lovely painting.
Glad you are ok and up and about. This is a great tutorial. As we will miss the next two weeks I will try to put it to good use and actually do some of these paintings!! Enjoy your time away and take care of yourself.😊
Hi Paul, thank so much for your videos every week. They are the best. I would love to see some more spring tutorials soon:) thanks again
Glad to see your on the mend, safe trip.x
I follow many watercolor YT channels and I love them all, but your channel has a unique charm, not sure why maybe due to the friendly introduction, or the commentary during the painting process or maybe due to something else...I admire your channel and your paintings ❤
Thank you very much, Paul. It´s an amazing video, THANKS 😊 I am very happy you are better.
Happy New Year Paul 🥰 another wonderful painting I can't wait to give this a go 🤩 keep up with the great work 👍
Thanks so much, Paul! I've always enjoyed watching pelicans and but I enjoyed even more watching you paint them. Best wishes for your recovery!
When you said, "while the water is still wet," I had to chuckle!
My favorite part of Wednesday! 😊
Really love this. I reciently watched "Jonathan Livington Seagull "and I appreciate this scene. So beautiful with lots to earn . Thanks
Very beautiful as always!! Great job!! Love it❤
WHO knew we were going to the Florida Everglades this week? Another fabulous painting chocked filled with paint tips and tricks. Love it! Take care Paul. Enjoy your time in the Canary Islands and we will miss you indeed.
Thanks for another great tutorial, Paul. Enjoy your stay in the Canary Islands, probably the best place for the quicket recovery after your surgery. Take care.
Just happy to see you back! Well recovering!😊
Very glad you're on the mend. The water sparkles inspired me to attempt this effect. It's 20⁰f here and I'm missing the beach, birds and warmer temps. Thanks for another helpful tutorial!
Love the layering and the depth of the dock. Just what I've been looking for to use with some of my plein air. Thanks!!!
Beautiful painting. I hope your surgery wasn't anything serious. I will send you healing energy. Have an excellent healing trip.
Excellent lesson. really ready to start this one. Have a great time on your painting holiday. Looking forward to what they paint this time. Sherry
Hope you are feeling better! Please take good care of yourself.
Lovely! Hope your recovery is quick and complete
Ohh so glad you’re doing better & are able to head out to the painting retreat soon. Margot has been doing a fantastic job with holding down the teaching there! This is definitely a wonderful fun looking painting to give a go. I might be able to get caught up on some of the past tutorials that I have been wanting to do with the 2 weeks break then. Life has been crazy busy here lately like there. This one combines some of my favorites subjects birds, water, & textured wood! Thanks for sharing this wonderful video. Continue prayers for good health & safe travels for you & Margo!
Great demo as always! Good health and have a great time in the Canary Islands!
I love your pelican painting. I love anything nautical. I would like to add that I have gotten different tools you use. (i.e. magic scalpel, credit card, gouche)My favorite tool I have is my rigger. I had to have one since you usually paint with one. I absolutely love the details you can get with it. I have used liner paintbrushes but they don't seem to do the trick. Thanks for all the expertise you share with us.
So happy to see your smiling, handsome face again! So glad you are feeling better. Brilliant video as always. Thanks as always for your time and expertise! Stay well. 😊
Such a beautiful painting, thanks for sharing the tutorial with us! Take care and have a great trip! 🙂
