      Lalatendu Nayak Sir, I can't speak for the rural parts of the state but I come from Stewart School in Cuttack. Yes. The original one. Not the knock off. Not the branches in Bhubaneshwar and other districts. We had smart classes and state of the art teaching tools, & teachers who were actually interested in teaching. Do not disgrace the entire state based on your limited experience.

    The school where I studied from LKG to 10th didn't allowed kids to go to any coaching and not even it's teachers to do tutions. They made sure that we get quality education and co curriculum enough in school only. Where as now when I have changed school and I am in 11th currently , I can say that my new school is full of corruption. There teachers are allowed to do coaching so they don't teach in school and always advertise their coaching centers ,demand money for marks in class etc. Now I know why my old school had no corruption and best environment that a school should have.

    • @dharabarot4033
      @dharabarot4033 7 лет назад +3

      Most schools in India are corrupt. The education is not learning but a business now, its very sad to see, plus all that money you spend goes to waste because india's education and degrees aren't valid outside. I studied there until year 6, now I live in Australia, about to finish year 12, and the education here is so much better, its not all just learning the answers to questions asked in exams, its about building the skills to be used in everyday life and builiding the skills to be able to.answer questions on your own

    One problem with this podcast is that there should have been all engineers here. Biswa being a part of this whole IIT coaching and Kota system is telling some really messed up shit happening in our society. But KT and Kautuk are not able to provide good insights to his arguments as they have never seen this hardcore coaching system of India. I have been part of this whole Kota coaching system and can completely understand what Biswa is trying to say. Kota is not at all a healthy place to be. That place reeks of sheep culture, competitiveness, depression, anxiety, confusion. Students are committing suicides and nobody is giving a shit. These directors of coaching academies are making crores of rupees every year. Residents of Kota are making a shit tonne of (tax-free) money by lending their houses as PG to students every year. There is no space for creativity and innovation. Its a bloody rat race. And then there are winners of this rat race (so-called toppers). But what everyone forgets is that even if you are a winner in a rat race you are still a rat. This has to stop. We need to change the pattern of IIT and JEE (mains) exams so that these coaching classes perish. This is MADNESS.

    One of the best I have seen in a while! I really feel our education system needs an update.
    Just another example, compare any two private colleges you know, they might differ in infrastructure, in courses they offer, in facilities they have, but there will be one thing, that's almost similar in every college, and that is how a 60 minutes lecture happens. They come to class, read out things, shout maybe, make us take down lecture notes and leaves. Why don't we see college advertisements telling how different their classroom sessions or how they teach in a more effective way than others, even though "to learn" is why one attends a College.
    But now it's all about best infrastructure, 99.9% placement! And then the employer says that the student is 'unemployable'. Of-course he is, because his college life was all about passing the semesters not about understanding or creating.
    And take our Schools, are they really made for all students, no matter what their passion are or just for the ones who prefers STEM subjects or Commerce?
    because, getting a basic school education in India is about learning to Solve Math equations, or Newton's equations of motion and not basic Traffic Laws, How to file your tax or Open a bank account etc (there are lot of such things) or even about about building a good character.
    For a wannabe Engineer or for a person pursuing a career related to STEM subjects, learning about vectors or differentiation would most probably come in handy while pursuing your job, but what about an Actor or a Lawyer. One has to understand, that all of these students attending a school, have to study the same subjects (in the school I attended) till they reach 11th grade where they are allowed to choose the stream of subjects they prefer.
    But till then, if we are to teach them STEM related subjects, wouldn't it be really fair if we have 'equal' number of hours for say topics dealing with acting, law etc. Even though we have some time allotted for it, the grades one acquire in them aren't given much preference like we give for Mathematics or Science subjects when it comes to passing to the next grade. But even then, there will be an actor thinking of what to be done with this calculus knowledge he has acquired but at least at the same time, there'll be a software engineer thinking the same about his acting skills.
    If it is any good to those who are reading, I'm a person who is interested in STEM subjects and I find them really interesting, but my other really creative friends who currently after a lot of struggle, is having a really good time with their life (an amazing actor and an awesome musician), where considered not so good at school by a lot people. Why?
    because they weren't good with numbers. No one would call a math geek stupid if he can't compose a song, why should it happen the other way around.

    I am one of the few fortunate people who took a gap year after 12th and I am really thankful that I did and also that my parents weren't pushy about it. I ended up deciding what I really liked and wanted to do for the rest of my life and have been doing that for more than a year now, making video games.
    I have one thing to say to people who are in college and/or school, don't let someone else make your decisions for you. Do what you are passionate about and stick with it. And don't worry, there is time.

    why do they release this podcast in parts?

  • @vedashembekar884
    @vedashembekar884 7 лет назад

    Definitely agree with the last part. I chose science in high school and didnt want to pursue it. Finally convinced my mom in the february of my 12th year. Scored lesser than you need to enter mass media and now am repeating by giving my HSC through arts again. The stigma around this is so much that I was almost discouraged by everyone except my mom and my sister. Has to be the best decision I made because arts is literally helping me study consider the last two years I didnt study because I didnt understand much. So many of my friends are repeating to give their JEE and their MBBS exams again and so many of them are under immense pressure. All I can do to help them is just talk. Nothing else. They dont undertake activities ir fun hobbies for their mind to have a break because they have so much more to study. Laakhon mein ek was literally so relevant. Not to me personally but I'm looking at my best friend going through the same and I ask her to take a day off and just relax and she cant. She absolutely cannot because she goes even behind on her syllabus. Shes more than just smart but is constantly discouraged by herself as well because her test marks are around 15-30% which is most of the students there but she needs to be at at least 50%. All they do is study 6 hours go to class or not repeat their classes and study for all of their day. What about the kids who dont like studying? Or arent as good at it? All they can do is try to understand or just mug it up.

    Can this bald guy get familiar with facts? He doesn't know what he's talking about. Education system in the US, especially for-profit schools are financially backbreaking scams, not opportunities.

    Biswa 'Mast Aadmi' blends intellect with comedy so well. It would be interesting to have him more on such podcasts. SnG pod casts has some really interesting topics and his take on most topics would be great to hear.
