I guess the originality of his style comes from his own mental sketching, plus the right mix of instinct based presentation and preparedness. It's very honest, and maybe that's why Biswa may not have the largest, but surely a cult and loyal fan base.
Abish you know what, I am loving this section of your channel, Journey Of A Joke. Please don't plan to drop this segment of your channel in near future. It's really wow!
Biswa is without a doubt hilarious but I love how thorough and observational Abish is with the jokes. Your research and analysis of each aspect of the joke makes it even more informational. Great job!☺
I am a literature student and I have these ideas of how a poem or a prose piece works. I had no idea Art is kind of the same in all ways. Though I know stand ups aren't just easy peasy but this video just makes me UNDERSTAND it in a different way. Glad that this video exists. He is a funny man in a video and now we see how the funny man thinks. Great!
'bananas you can eat even if you are missing organs'.. xD (have patience, if you are reading further...) Just watched half the video and mind this, it is the first time that i have watched 'journey of a joke', it somehow felt like Abish trying to structure out, by tracing the formation of the joke, the whole 'act' or the 'performance', which is quite a logical thing to do: for it will help understand what makes a jokes tick and eventually help improve all the stand-up artists with their sketches. But Biswa's case is a bit different compared to others (I haven't yet watched any other video of this series, so just consider this a hunch) he has a very intuitive approach for the stand-up (have watched Kalyanrath on RUclips, haven't attended live sessions, but am presuming :|), when it comes to sketches he is more of an improviser than a pre-planner, that is why even if he cracks a joke in which nobody laughs, he can make them funny right then and there, this could be why he writes most of his jokes post-performance(he invents it right at the moment he has to deliver!). I could be wrong, but if the agenda of this video is to derive constants, then it simply won't work with the variables (and perhaps that is the reason Biswa seems a bit exasperated while conversing [him being anti-social could also be a reason xP]) Whatever it is I'm quite fond of his jokes, it just takes you beyond the humour and makes you think long after the session is over! xD (...bravo, you're quite a reader my friend)
I love when Biswa says, ‘comedy is a funny guy saying things’... I teach public speaking, and I see this every single semester. There will be that one student who gets a standing ovation from the class. That makes me believe though comedy and rhetoric can be taught, there is definitely an instinct for humor that needs to be there and that’s in-born... thank you Abish Mathew, for this video...
Abish, this is seriously an amazing idea to ask comedians to break down their joke, and I love that you're doing this! Thank you so much :) Really appreciate it.
Not performing fully prepared with a tight script is something very interesting and makes him more impressive. Some of the biggest stand up comedians have a very tight script (written material) of every single joke, even the small pauses and such, and they just prepare that material thoroughly. It's impressive that Biswa doesn't follow that.
Thank you abish for making us come even closer to our favourite comedians, great concept. Please bring Daniel Fernandez too.. And biswa was as always awesome to watch.
Comedians are the most intelligent and intellectual people. According to me, being caled 'funny' is a huge compliment. Not everyone can observe common things and present them in a way that evokes laughter. Great respect for all the comedians out there.
Abish yr! You are just great. It's awesome how you dissect their jokes and ask questions which are relevant and actually interesting to know the answer of. Plus you are collabing with my favorite Indian comedians so that's amazing as well. Loving this series. ❤
I just feel in my very regular unintelligent brain of a fifty two year old that Biswa's observation power is very very strong and he uses all that memory to make it relate to things that we all experience but just dont keep in mind.but when that is brought to us in his superb style of delivery and placement he becomes a hit!very intelligent brain.huge fan of Biswa.
Excellent stuff. He's a great comedian. His tonality on stage is extremely good. Also, I was really really impressed when he talked about the instrumental band God Is An Astronaut.
I like this series. Nice to see the thought process of stand up comedians. I felt the close-up shots were too many, or too close. It was getting uncomfortable to watch the angle from Biswa's chin, like at 5:44. I don't think I would have minded if it was zoomed out though.
Thank you so much Abish. This is extreamly insightful, it helps to understand comedy so much better. Great work, This is way better that Son of Abish. You bring out newer concepts. You are a great comedian.
something they are not talking about is his enunciation and use of his voice, which I think is very effective, he emphasizes the right places with his voice
Zakir and bishva are those who connect with audience that's why they most loveable.its not need to have punchline best you just have to connect to audience.
Really appreciate this initiative by you, Abish! I do want to tell you in a detailed manner WHY i love 'Journey of a Joke'.. but for now.. Lots of Love!
Neville Shah! his delivery and his anger on stage genuinely intrigue me. Plus he's also a creative director at OnM. so people could get broader insights on human behavior through him!
Biswa looks like the kinda dude who was born and raised in an Engineering College.

I guess the originality of his style comes from his own mental sketching, plus the right mix of instinct based presentation and preparedness. It's very honest, and maybe that's why Biswa may not have the largest, but surely a cult and loyal fan base.
"Stand up is not a guy saying funny things , it's a funny guy saying things."

I love Biswa's pronunciations! So adorable! "Pochchees!" 😂
Biswa is no doubt one of the best stand up comedians in India, but he has a very good taste in music too! :D
He has a taste in almost everything. He is an IIT'ian to add on.

Please, please do the one with "Introvert Extrovert". That's one of Biswa's funniest performances I've seen on RUclips. :D
Its called 'extroverts and chaos'. Its my favorite one
Biswa is without a doubt hilarious but I love how thorough and observational Abish is with the jokes. Your research and analysis of each aspect of the joke makes it even more informational. Great job!☺
Biswa is so damn creative.Seems he can talk on any subject with layers of storytelling....
So many layers and sublayers of a single incident.
"Write the Best Technical Joke "
- Jee Advanced 2099
Kya baat hai.. Analyzing Biswa's joke like Nolan's Memento.
I am a literature student and I have these ideas of how a poem or a prose piece works. I had no idea Art is kind of the same in all ways. Hey Abish, this series is really awesome. Please bring Naveen Richard for his "Predictive Texts" bit.
What everybody else learnt : Evolution of a joke
What I learnt : Banana is the carrot you dangle in front of bachelors...
Now I can begin my manhunt!
Biswa reflects intelligence...don't u think so?!!!
When you know its Biswa, you like it before watching.
2 of my favorite stand-up artists! Abish and Biswa!
Loved this episode.
Big fan of Biswa's work.
Thanks Abish for bringing him to us in this way
'bananas you can eat even if you are missing organs'.. xD
(have patience, if you are reading further...)

I never thought that comedy requires this much effort... !!! I have way much more respect for comedians now...

Abish great work... this stuff is so unique.. also to Biswa for sharing the inside story
