Thank you all for your comments guys! I'm not on here often anymore but really appreciate reading through these :)
nice
This is amazing!
You are good! And this one respects the original. Thank you!
I've been listening to the FFX soundtrack for as long as RUclips existed and before, and for some reason I just discovered this video.
Gotta say this is the best cover of Calm before the Storm I've ever heard, I feel like some parts are even better than the original, like from 2:21 until the end.
And beside some orchestral versions, I can say that I never felt this way about any cover of FFX ever.
Good job !
Appreciate this comment. I heard the song and had a hard time placing it. I've played the game enough, it should of came to me 😢
I want to live inside of this melody and inbetween the notes, looking up at the grayish blue sky as the notes fly up and down.
The fact that this video is 2 years old and has only 511 views is a crime
Truly true
4118 views now.

@@BomberBoom glad to see this video finally got some traction!
Nobuo Uematsu has a very specific flavor in his music, the way he harmonizes triggers some intense emotions
Man, this comment is a little bit late, but your cover is my favorite. Great playing, I always shed a tear every time I hear this. Thank you!
Never too late for FFX tears friend
Yeah just heard this today... absolutely amazing !
Best version of this - stays faithful to the source. Awesome
That is freaking PERFECT! Why does it only have 3k views?!?. This is one of my favourite songs in FFX and you nailed it.
Still listening even until now. Great playing. Thank you for covering one of my favorite songs in FF series.
Thanks Angelo! And I totally agree, so serene and mysterious, I love it
I listen to this every day.
great playing! This video deserves far moooore views since it's one of the best interpretation on YT!

@@JorjMakesMusic there is a lot of hard work behind this 😉 I hope everyone notices it. Keep up the good work!
@@javier9310 Thanks chief, really appreciate it. And there'll be more as soon as working life permits 😅
Wow I love the ending you added! This was perfect tempo
This song is quite amazing and one of my top favorites of all FF songs, and you did it justice! Thank you!!!
Beautiful. Just Beautiful.
Great performance. The youtube gods recommended it to me. Love FFX.
Nice ending, cool video editing, great sound quality and beautiful interpretation!
Perfect cover
Really soooothing! O love the way you play the piano. I blame mine not making the same sounds
Thanks so much! Just keep practising and you'll get the sounds you want. Took me sooooo long to be happy with my sound but you'll find it's so worth the effort in the end
Wonderful performance! I only discovered it now. Very emotive and I like the extra personalizations you've added.
Very good arrangement (all of the guitar's subtle harmony seems to be here!) and excellent playing. Hard to do rubato well with a piece like this because the guitars are meant to sound like a consistent pulse, like a bed of sound-but you manage to make it work by having it be a gentle push and pull, like rocking a baby, or being on a calm ocean. One of the best performances of this on RUclips, but it not being on a good acoustic piano hurts it slightly.
Hugely appreciate this chief, and so glad you enjoyed it! The leaps make the constant pulse so hard to follow, so I'm happy you think the rubato came across well. :)
And completely agree, it's a shame about the audio. Just wish I had the space/money for an acoustic piano; it's the dream! Though I did upgrade the audio with a better piano VST a while back which you can check here if you like: drive.google.com/drive/folders/0Bz1dQrpqT2_od0c4eTlpVVZObUU
Thanks again!
@@JorjMakesMusic coming back to this nearly a year later, by accident. This is still so good. I listened to your other version... what VST is it?
@@thegoodgeneral Thanks again chief, I use The Giant from NI in my newer videos
@@JorjMakesMusic nice. Have you ever tried the Walker 1955 Concert D by Embertone? It’s incredible.
Not before, but I'll give it a look over :)
I saved this to my watch later list, that theme haunts me..
Please come back and do more. Please.
omg that's absolutely a m a z i n g
perfect!!
thanks for this beatiful video!!
Aw shucks, thank you!
このピアノ演奏は、ピアノクレっクションに収録せずに、残念だと思ったけど、おかげで、ピアノを始めたきっかけの曲の一つを楽しみにできます。
It’s wonderful! So very inspiring! Thankyou
Very very good. I’m gonna have to learn this now. The memories
This is superb!!
I will start learning this next year after I finish up my list of songs Im working on now
Nice performance, very much apreciated. :)
So glad, thanks!
Awesome!
you make me feel this one
liked your performance ! 🔥
Really great !! Thanks a lot !!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed 😊
Awesome.
wonderful!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THE RUBATO
Beautiful!
Great!
Awesome cover ! Only a few covers of this song on yt and you are one of the bests, surely.
If you're still active on your channel, I would love to get some tips to use right pedale the better way to learn this song ! :)
I'm a beginner but trying hard since a couple weeks on this master piece (I'm actually at the octaves part), and I think I don't use the pedale as well as it needs.
Thank you so much! All I could say to help with this piece is just to make sure you're raising and lowering the pedal on the first beat of the new bar, ensuring it's done within one note press. Feel free to take more time on the first notes of the bar if you're struggling to do that movement before the following quaver beat. It does take a lot of practise for it to sound natural, my pedalling sounded super robotic when I first got to grips with it so just keep it at it and you'll get it in time!
Hope that helps :)
@@JorjMakesMusic Ok, thanks for the tips ! :) May I send you a record one day to get some advices from you ?
Sorry for the late reply! (I'm awful, forgive me) Yeah sure! I can send you a few tips based on a recording if you like, just message me a link when you have it :)
@@JorjMakesMusic Thank you!
@@JorjMakesMusic that's some precious advice, even for not beginners!
I wish you made a video or a post about your recording setup, because the levels are really well limited, the dynamic is awesome, you have no peak noise, the sound is stunning!
Your videos are ear candy! Keep it up, man
my favorite ffx song yay!
Very good thumbs up
Big love 💘
This song is defiantly not for the faint of heart.
Hi, I was wondering what arrangement is this ?
Hey, it's by Vincent Lo, you can see it here ruclips.net/video/vge9WX8qiec/видео.html
adventurecraft journey to the aether brought me here
Do you have a MIDI?
This piano can connect to the computer via MIDI if that's what you mean?
@@JorjMakesMusic Really excellent work, no i mean. A MIDI file to play in apps like synthesia.
@@Jefrymarte89 ah then unfortunately I don't! All I have is the sheet music and audio files from the recording. Here's a link to where you can find the sheets if that helps!
ruclips.net/video/vge9WX8qiec/видео.html
can I have this piano sheet please?
I used the sheets from this video here: ruclips.net/video/vge9WX8qiec/видео.html
man i’m really late seeing this video, what a beautiful performance. is this played on garritan cfx concert grand?
Never too late for a comment like this ❤ These videos actually use the sounds from the piano itself which is an Arius YDP-140. I later used the same midi tracks to update the audio by running it through the NI The Giant software instrument and this is what's been uploaded to the drive folder link
@@JorjMakesMusic oh wow it sounds beautiful my man
