- After working on my BMW M2 for over a year now, I've noticed many things "Easter eggs" and such. Here's 16 things you don't know about your BMW M2
My first ever video (downpipe install):

Those two little bumps on the inner part of your side mirrors is to delete any helicopter wind noise when the window is down.
Gotcha! Thanks for this man, I'll pin it so everyone can see. That definitely makes sense, but it's interesting the M2C/M3/M4 mirrors don't have these. Any idea why? Maybe the winglet that comes stock fixes that?
After watching God knows how many M2 vids, yours are always educational, like this one and the one about bulletproofing the M2. It's like all the useful lessons from scouring forums for hours can be found here. Thanks! Keep up the great work and don't change. :)
I really appreciate that vara and I'm more than happy to hear you're enjoying the videos! I may be making a part 2 to this video after seeing how many people enjoy this type of content. If there's anything specific you'd like me to go over, I'll be happy to do it!! I'll be posting every Thursday and maybe soon Tuesdays as well!
This is one of the best content creators out there, keep it up 👍
Really appreciate it man! I'm happy you're enjoying the videos!
This video gave me a lot more information than the past 100 video’s i’ve watched about M2’s!
I'm more than happy you found the video helpful! I'd love to make similar ones if there's anything specific you'd like covered :)
Nice vid bud ! Hope u still have ur m2 tho...
Hey bro! Thank you and sorry for my late response. I do and plan on keeping it forever
U can also pull the fuse to keep the valves open
Congrats on hitting 100 subscribers man. Can’t wait to see you in the thousands or even a couple of millions. Also, gonna have to try that donut trick. Which meets do you mostly go to?
Thank you! It means a lot seeing you and everyone else coming back for each video :) Definitely a couple million and you've gotta try the donut trick haha. Do you know the La Paloma meets?
@@collectingms3803 of course brotha! I sometimes go to them when I have time though
Love this
Hey bro! Thank you, I'm happy you enjoyed!
Excellent vid! Weren't you worried about the tires blowing out and you mashing the 763m rims on the road?
Thanks man! Happy you enjoyed. This was when I still had the stock 473m rims and the tires only had 4mm of tread left. I haven't even thought of doing a donut with the new 763ms lol. Wasn't too worried about the tires blowing out - my friends were gonna tell me if I was down to the belts. Looking back at it, probably not the best plan
Hey, where did you get the m2 seats?
Hey! I did a trade for my OG M2 seats. If you're looking for some, try eBay.de or other European eBay extensions. If shipping is too high for those listing, can always contact supplier directly
Hey , have you bought 2 new struds?
Hey! Do you mean the hood struts? Yes, the original ones I had much more resistance (for an aluminum hood) and the new ones are off the M4 GTS (carbon hood) so that the hood can open and close without any damage :)
Miss ur videos and miss darryl
Wait, those donuts are with stock downpipe? Anything else done to the car at that time? I gotta try this out myself haha
Yessir! It does take a bit for the cat to get "warm" enough to shoot flames though lol
HUNTER!!!!! DONT DESTROY YOUR CAR DOING THIS!!!!
@@serverch duly noted pal!
YOUZ DA REZEN I GOT AN M2
Congrats bro!! How're you liking it??
Someone somewhere must know what causes the blinker/indicator problem? Mine does it about once a month. I think it might be water ingress? I’ve had mine swapped and now it’s out of warranty it’s started doing it again. I heard if you give it a good hard bang it stops it. Doesn’t work for me though 🤷♂️
That's what I thought as well, but the issue normally clears up the next time I use the turn signal. Maybe the lights get hot enough to evaporate it? Then again they're LEDs, so I'm really not sure lol. How bad is yours?
@@collectingms3803 how much water? Huge amounts! It was washing around in there - about half a cups worth! I’m not sure if it was getting through the rubber bulb seal at the back or a very fine invisible crack I have on the moulding line at the front. I have now drilled 3 holes along the bottom edge of the casing to let the water drain out if it collects. In fact I will show you on DMs if my insta (I just starting following you) @dunstablem2
The rear indicator fault is caused from bad grounding which is why if you give them a thud it clears for a bit. There’s a separate issue also with water ingress from the rear window/roof runner seals which then runs down and collects in the trunk/boot - specifically on the left side where the amp is which recently blew my HK amp even with the amp cover which was installed by BMW, all replaced under warranty or should be of out of warranty under good will
@@mike_kokuz17 Thank you for the explanation! Happy to hear BMW covered your amp - they covered my lights as well thankfully
How to programme home into your satnav, destinations don’t seem to want to type in but if I say the address it works fine 🤷🏼♂️, this really does help I’m not into tech I just drive so watching a vid is way easier than learning things on the fly I’m not into sitting on my drive and figuring shit out, rain sensitivity you could of added too I had to RUclips that 😂 theirs a lim mode that means limiter accidentally hit it and it won’t go past the speed set even in a manual … doesn’t mean limp mode and you don’t need to switch your engine on and off and think your cars fked 😂
Really happy to hear you enjoyed the video man! I've never heard of lim mode before, but I'll definitely talk about that if I ever make a part two video. It's funny because after making this video, one of my friends pointed out a bunch of cool things too. If you look at the idrive screen for sport + and sport, the road is slightly different, at least on his car. I found this video for you on setting the home address: ruclips.net/video/msix6wErfYA/видео.html&feature=emb_title
@@collectingms3803 thanks man really appreciate it 👍 it’s on the steering wheel it says lim, Iv never had a car that won’t accelerate over a speed limit before and would never of expected it in a manual, I got the m2 because I didn’t want tech but it has its fair share of tech in it in my eyes 😂
@@collectingms3803 ok so had a play on the drive got my kid to do the tech bit 😂 turns out the button on the steering wheel to speak to the car does pretty much everything, quick search isn’t quick search what so ever so is useless, it’s not for typing postcodes in like I thought it was 😂 you have to type in Starbucks and things like that misspell it and it doesn’t recognise it what so ever, might as well just use the speak button for everything which is handy to know since Iv never used the bloody thing 😂
@@rscholey85 For sure man! Yeah that's definitely really weird.. does it go away on it's own? Gotta get in the e gen cars if you don't want any tech haha. Even the driver's cars nowadays are filled with a bunch of tech features. IMO the M2 is still beyond a fantastic car
@@rscholey85 Ah I just looked the lim thing up. It's just the button on the left side of the steering wheel right? The quick search is definitely a bit tricky sometimes. I normally use the idrive wheel to select everything, but I'll give the voice thing a shot.
Im looking to buy my first actual good car. My uncle offered to sell me his 2017 m240 64k miles for a good price. I know bwms can be unreliable but its such a sick car. Should I look for something new or go in on the m2.
The M240i is a great car - Darryl (my camera man/dad) had one for a year and it was great. No issues whatsoever, with a decent amount of driving. The M2 is also a fantastic car and I've put about 30k KM on mine without a single issue as well (besides the tail lights. A common issue). The M2 is definitely a much more fun car IMO, with the rear wheel drive and overall set up. I'd say test drive both and see what you like ;)
I’m not willing to burn up my tyres for 2 and a half mins Michelin PS4’s are expensive lol
They were already down to 4mm and I parked the car for the winter so I thought why not haha
Surprised you didn’t show how to use launch control my man.
Honestly thought most people with M2s had launch control figured out on day one 🤣
@@collectingms3803 haha yea fair, great vid anyway mate!
@@BEAR_S55 Appreciate it man!
That turn indicator fault you need new rear lights Bmw replaced both of mine under warranty. It’s a common fault with the m2
Thanks man! Never thought about getting it fixed. I'll have to get that done soon before my warranty is up. After being replaced have you had any issues?
@@collectingms3803 no mate I had one done then the other side broke a few months later so both replaced under warranty and that was about 2 years ago and Iv not had a problem since.
@@jim8462 gotcha. Gonna go down to BMW sometime soon to get that looked at. Did your signal do this constantly or intermittendly?
@@collectingms3803 it did it intermittently sometimes wouldn’t happen for a week or so. But it got a bit more frequent and as was under warranty I just got it booked in. They will have a shock when they see what you have done to your car lol 😂 far from stock .
@@collectingms3803 Maranello replaced mine 2 times already. I’d take it to Autohaus or a dealer you already trust. Autohaus put a new one in for me
watched until 0:50 then he tell how to ruin your M2
Poor car, in what hands it happened!
