    Really appreciate the review! I don't like the idea of not having base and top coats, but I have very thin natural nails. I find more coats add strength and protect my natural nail.

      Tysm! I think they r seen online as this “cute little thing people make fun pretty videos with” and people don’t realize that it’s not a gimmick and they actually are a fantastic and useful gel product. I don’t think they market themselves so much like this and more on the “pretty” side. They r more than a cute and pretty lil set. This product is very useful for at home manis!

      Hi I had a quick question since you have this brand! My friend bought me the red and pink set that comes with the full size lamp. I tried using it and no matter how many times i used the LED lamp, my nail polish never cured. It didn't come with a gel top coat, but do I need that? it doesn't seem like anyone else needs it to be cured with a top coat but I used extremely thin layers and I never got it to work :(

    Hey I was wondering if there maybe is an update on these? I heard some were saying they last only 7 days, and I didn't get aome of the comments saying it's a nightmare to take them off. How was your experience? Thanks a lot!

    • @PolishLabRat
      @PolishLabRat  Год назад +1

      I haven’t used these anymore, but I have specified in the past (don’t recall if I mentioned it in this video or not), that I find them stubborn to remove. If you wear a gel base coat from a brand that’s easy to remove, it will alleviate the removal process. As far as staying power, I definitely got way more than 7 days. This will depend on nail prep, and whether the person doing the gel nails knows how to prep, etc.

    i just came across this video because i was searching for an honest and complete review of this kit and i can say i genuinely appreciated your tips and tutorial. you said the base coat would help taking the gel off more easily. how would the steps shown in the tutorial change when adding a base coat? would you wear it after nails scratching? what would you do after putting your base coat on, would you wear your gel ? thank you for your help in advance

    • @PolishLabRat
      @PolishLabRat  Год назад +1

      Hello! Yes, the base coat would be applied exactly as the gel color. So before the first layer of color, you do one layer of base, cure that, and then proceed as usual. So basically all the same as this video, but a layer of base coat goes before the first layer of polish 👍🏼

Great review but yeah, they should have sponsored you. TFS! Oh, do you have to scrape your nail if using a peel off base coat? That might be a game changer for me.

    Hi Larissa! I’m so happy you did this review 🤩 And I’m glad you covered your thoughts on BC and TC. I was wondering, however, do you think I’d definitely need the TC for a French mani? If I have a base shade down and then a layer of colour on my tips only, would I need something to sort of level out? I hope this makes sense 😅

    • @PolishLabRat
      @PolishLabRat  2 года назад +1

      Hi, thanks! Yes it makes sense, otherwise the tip might look out of level with the base. you can technically even just add a thin layer of top coat to the base area, cure that, and then one final coat to the entire nail to even it out. However if the top coat consistency is thick enough, you might get away with just one final coat. TFW!

    Sorry to come in on an older video but what's the removal like? Harder than other soak off gels? How do you think just a normal polish would perform? Do you think their sheer color would be good for an easy newbie overlay? Sorry a billion questions over here :p

    • @PolishLabRat
      @PolishLabRat  2 года назад

      So, this brand is a soak off gel. I have found these to be stubborn to remove (buy not 100% stubborn, just not super flakie easy). I recommend to use a base coat and this makes removal easier (even tho these don’t require a base coat be used). I dont understand what you mean by “how would regular nail polish perform?”. I dont know what sheer color of theirs you are talking about either, I seem to have more questions than you 🤣 DM me on IG so we can chat. 💕

    Oooo this makes me want to go see if my TJ Maxx his this in stock. I wish gel polish had more color varieties like indie polishes but I understand.
    Does anyone else have experience with using regular polish and a gel top coat to make it last longer? How does that work out?? I am curious.

    • @PolishLabRat
      @PolishLabRat  3 года назад +1

      It works. Just let the regular polish dry a lot. Idk a number of hours but a lot like, 24 hours haha then top coat with gel and it works. It’s a hack, I mean it won’t last like a true gel mani, but it does work.
