I love gel on my pedicure but can’t really do it on my nails because I change my polish sometimes as much as every other day. This might be PERFECT for pedis at home again!
@@KelliMarissaOoo that would be so cute! But…that’s EXACTLY why I go for gel pedis! I just do basic care and keep my pedi clean, cuticle free and filed down gently and it lasts!! So funny that the exact thing I love about one nail style on my toes is the total opposite on my fingers. 😂 I’m extra about polish!
How easy is this gel polish to remove and have you done a video showing how? I’m really curious about this brand and technique as I’m dealing with a lot of health issues and it’s become very difficult doing my nails in my bed plus having to wait for them to dry. Tfs.
I ise a peel off base coat under my gels when I'm changing up my polish frequently. I do two coats and make sure it's completely dry in between each one.
you can use chrome powders with regular polish btw! doesn't need to be gel. you just need a sticky polish (like orly bonder) and a water-based polish (most people use peel off bases for this)
I have to say Le Mini Macaron did a really smart thing sponsoring you for this video because I couldn't forget about this product, especially the little lavender lamp that has the same shade as my earbuds! I even dreamt about it! So I finally bought it and then I also recommended it to my French colleague who may like the durability of gel. :) So I tried it last night! I was really surprised by how well the lamp worked, and that you don't need a base or top coat and no wiping off sticky layers whatsoever. The only thing I really had to get used to was just the idea of gel polish itself and that it stays runny as you work with it. I'm used to lacquer that dries right away, but I found that as I was cleaning up the gel polish if I applied too thick of a layer the cuticle would just re-flood, and if I held my hand too vertical, the polish would slip off the tip of my nails. So applying in thin layers and keeping your hand horizontal is the way!
Haha I'm so glad you enjoy that little macaron lamp as much as I do!! Gels are so interesting in that they're such a different painting experience than regular polish, but once you get the hang of it, they're so convenient (especially these one step systems) and they last really well!

I have always wanted to venture down the gel isle but....my fear is the aftermath of what happens to the nails. My coworkers salon gel nails ruin their nature nails they wind up very damaged and paper thin. I don't want to do that to myself after the damage I caused myself with dip products.
The damage from gels comes from the filing portion - so if you're filing down your nail plate to help the gel adhere, you're losing layers of nail over time. Personally I do skip that step, I know it means my gels won't last QUITE as long but tbh I've never had an issue with them without the buffing!

Do you have any concerns about the UV exposure? That's what scares me about gel. But so many people use them and have no concerns, so maybe I shouldn't worry about it?
The LED lamps they make now for gels are a lot less UV so it's significantly safer, but tbh that is one of the reasons why I love the mini lamp so much, I don't have to stick my whole hand into a lamp just my fingertip haha
Yes, our lamps are LED, which has a lot less UV exposure! We always recommend putting sunscreen on your hands before starting an application as an extra layer of protection! As most things, it's best to use these products in moderation to avoid any long lasting damage 😊
I have some concerns about the application for the chrome powder. So they say to apply the black (or other colour) base and then only half cure it (presumably so it remains semi-tacky for the powder to adhere to). And then apply the powder, then top coat and cure the top coat. But the black polish underneath remains only half cured? Since the top-coat cure will not fully cure the black as the black is now obscured by the chrome powder. It is so dangerous to under-cure gel polish and that's how you end up with allergies. So I'm really concerned that their instructions basically tell you to intentionally under-cure it.

Cool colors! Your nose is looking great. Hope u can Breathe better
Thank you so much Lisa, it's been life changing being able to fully breathe haha!! 😅
If these are true gel polishes, why are they in clear bottles?
They’re not clear. The bottles match the polish color very well!! I have about a dozen of these and only the Chai shade doesn’t match the bottle
Sorry yes they're not clear, they're opaque bottles that are colored the same as the polish within 😅
@@hannahstumpf696 they certainly had me fooled 😆
I want to post swatches on Instagram. I picked out a username, but I can't bring myself to actually post anything. 😅😅 (Not that anyone would see it)
You should totally do it! Even if it's just as a little nail journal for yourself to see all your manicures in one place - it's worth a try 😁
You should totally start! It's really fun to have a nail insta... However you'll buy more polish. 😅
@@JeniferJamesFarrell Oh no! 😂
@@KelliMarissaI wanted to come back & let y'all know I did start a nail Instagram... & I hit 100 followers today. It's been a great encouragement through a difficult season of life. 🥰
