Happy New Year man. As a no longer new rider anymore after 2 1/2 years on my bike and about 18k miles in the saddle, I can confirm you are never done buying gear. I am always adding to my toolkit whether its replacing worn gear or adding something for a different use case or riding situation or temperature that I was not previously well equipped for. It's a constant expense anyone needs to factor into their budget based on what kind of riding they're doing.
