Rest in peace, Dolores O'Riordan, you'll be forever missed. I can't believe that it's been 4 years since she passed, her haunting voice will forever linger on. 🥰😇
I’m 37 but I just really discovered them a few years ago and literally played their stuff over and over again. Her voice was absolutely incredible and had so much emotion in it. My favorite song would have to be you and me.
I loved Dolores's Limerick accent, so beautiful. I remember watching an interview where Dolores said that the record company wanted her to sing with less of an accent. She said no, she wanted to sing in her normal accent, which made her unique. The record company was worried that no one would be able to understand her, but I never had an issue. I thought it was very neat to hear how she sang and pronounced certain words.
Knew nothing about The Cranberries apart from the fact that they were the band who made the song 'Zombie', so this video was really interesting. Thanks Mr Beat, and rest in peace Dolores O'Riordan
No matter where I am ... I'm always hearing her music even after her death. I don't know whether to feel heartbroken or flattered by those vocals but she really was a gift to the world by God.

If you’re looking for another subject, I think folks might love a Jason Molina (Songs: Ohia, Magnolia Electric Co.). The story of the unrehearsed, live recording of ‘Farewell Transmission’ alone is staggering.
That haunting, weird warbling at the end of 'Dreams' always did make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I wish that part was a bit longer, but still I really love that song.
Before I got into the sundays I would’ve said the cranberries were my favorite band. They were a fantastic band and I still think linger might’ve been the greatest song ever written.
@@mattbeatgoeson I find when Throbbing Gristle (a band with an extremely interesting history) pulsates my ears in a harsh sense and takes me to an out there world, the Cranberries do that in a warm sense. It's equally as intense. Just in different moods. My dad primarily was the one to show me Cranberries, along w Ramones, Black Flag and Violent Femmes. What a great guy.
Love the cranberries and have been a fan of them pretty much since birth. Really. My dad would put on their music and noticed that I actually listened to it and enjoyed it. Also Denny Cordell died three days after I was born. RIP to him and Dolores.
Oh man this one is gonna be tough :( I had the opportunity to go see them back in 2015 or 2016 but I was busy with college so I decided not to... man I wish I had that one back 😭 Delores imo is one of the greatest singers ever and one of the most gentle souls ever. RIP

I really don’t think Dolores O’Riordan get’s enough credit. In my opinion she’s one of the greatest female vocalists of all time, she can sing pretty much any genre. And she really wants just a beautiful soul inside and out, and she didn’t need to sexually exploit herself or wear Trimpi, skimpy skin tight outfits to get her point across or make a statement. I was exposed to the cranberries through my mom as a kid, she had a cassette of their first album everyone else is doing it so I can’t wait, and she had their next two albums on CD. It wasn’t until a few years after she passed away, that I really started to get into their stuff. these past two years or so I feel like I finally have found a new found appreciation for them I’ve always loved and enjoyed them, but I I feel like as I’ve gotten older and matured and since she’s passed away rest in peace, i’ve gained greater respect for them and since then they’re one of my top three bands of all time next to the Beatles, and the Smiths.
I only know two songs, Linger and Zombie, but I remember when Bad Wolves came out with their Zombie cover and hearing the backstory with Dolores and her death and how the almost never released it. It's a great cover and Bad Wolves is within my typical music preference.
I was in high school when No Need To Argue came out and I cannot recall hearing any song, at all, not even once, off of that album that wasn't Zombie. I'm surprised there were other hits? Like, where? The UK?
They were massive basically everywhere... 'Ode to My Family' was a big song from NNTA as well. The other two singles not so much... but 'I Can't be with You' and 'Ridiculous Thoughts' were always massive bangers live. That whole album is strong although Zombie is not as representative for it (I actually skipped Zombie a lot back in the day, cause you would hear it on the radio anyway)... it has lots of softer moodier songs... 'Ridiculous Thoughts' and 'I Can't Be With You' are the other two uptempo ones. 'So Cold In Ireland' was left of that album (it is on the Complete Sessions and Deluxe 25th anniversary one) but is actually the most comparable to Zombie...
Great moment in time was listening to No need to argue on my walkman as taking the ferry from Gallway to Aaran island in 1996. It was grey and squally with light snow and I stood on the bow feeling very Irish (but in actual fact an Australian tourist).

In 1997 Dolores was asked if she would do the vocals for Titanic. Sadly she was not keen on doing it since she was so burnt out. Sissel did them instead.

Who should play the bandmates? And which studios should distribute the film or should it be a series?
