Cj I’ve had my Ninja for a year now. I feel like I know what I’m doing. YET….i still find myself going through old videos of you just to make sure I keep to my roots. Awesome vids man
I tried this today but I smoked them until they were like well done 71 degrees C then seared them on high but they came out really chewy. Is this because I should have pulled them about 42 degrees then grilled them high up to 72 degrees? All help appreciated brother 🤙🏻
Do you know by any chance when the Woodfire is set to " grill " it displays Hi Med and Low what is the actual cooking temperature of them all as it doesn't display the temp. Thanks
CJ....you understated the smoke flavour in the steaks. Absolutely amazing. Your videos convinced me to buy the Ninja and my first smoke cook was simply amazing. Thank you
Great video man. I WANT one of these SOOOO bad, but I already have four grills. LOL. I LOVE the Ninja products though. I'm so tempted to pre order one NOW. If I do, I'll use your link.
First off, it was great joining you live for a cocktail last night... Always fun! So, question. Do you think this could handle a small turkey, say 15lbs? I would love a full on smoker, but have limited space in the city (and my griddle isn't going anywhere!) This seems like a good, practical solution.
I’m not too sure on that one. I’m going to start with a chicken and then see where we’re at. I might have to break up the turkey into parts and cook like that.
@@CookingWithCJ Just got mine and first cook tonight. I agree. I think it cooks too fast and the smoke flavor is just fine for what it is and how convenient it is. I wouldn't say it is "as good" as pellet smokers or stick burners but I was very impressed with what I got without any effort. Some people don't like heavy smoke anyway. Thank you for your video's!
I’m kind of late getting to this video CJ! When I saw the thumbnail I thought what is ninja come out with now! I definitely might have to invest in one of these units. It will be perfect for when I’m out at work and staying in my camper! Great job brother.👊🏻😋🍻
One more winner for ninja this is so awesome this was definitely going on my wish list I love my Traeger but I think this will be more our speed for right now awesome
I find that having the temp probe isn’t all that necessary, the one on my indoor grill isn’t the most accurate. I’m more into just getting an instant read thermometer.
Interesting… First, how many pellets will the hopper hold? Is it not using them for heat and only for flavor? Also, I like the technique but I bet if you finished them in the air fryer setting instead of the Hi Grill they might have been even better… higher temp. Thanks for sharing.
It hold a half of cup. And yeah mostly for flavor. I should have let the grill pre-heat and not skipped it. I think the char would have been a lot better. But, air frying my be an interesting way to try. Thanks!
Yehhh..we are hope that the ninja WOODFIRE is comming to the Netherlands. We have also the NINJA FOODI AF400 eu, NINJA FOODI OL750EU and the NINJA FOODI DT200eu at home...yehhhhh, Happy in the Kitchen !! Greetings from the Netherlands
Ordered the "pre-Order" yesterday I plan on using it with my RV . I am assuming that you can add more pellets on longer cooks does the manual address this? Hopefully I will get mine soon, I will be watching for more videos of different and longer Cookson this grill.👍🏻
Hi CJ - I was thinking about getting a pellet grill combined with griddle/ sear feature. How does the Ninja Woodfire compare with the above mentioned equipment.
@@CookingWithCJ I'm a bit worried about the size. I want easily transportable, in a car trunk, Bigger smoke pellet box..... suggestions. I love Ninja, But they should put in a larger pellet Box or drawer. In My Opinion.
Hey CJ, Greetings from Scotland! - just got the woodfire Grill and i LOVE your attention to detail on the channel on all things BBQ, reverse searing and the way you do the ribs is just so good. Really enjoy your channel. Laughed my ass off at your TOFU cook off. Really made me laugh. Keep up the good work dude, you have another subscriber all the way from Edinburgh Scotland.
This is my first video of yours, but do you not own a meat thermometer that measures your temps constantly rather than having to constantly temp check?
I think ninja is on something good because single people in an apartment could definitely use that. But I think I’ll wait on the next version is always another version coming up with ninja
Smoked a good (small 7 pounds, trimmed to fit) Texas brisket on one. I went 225 for 7 hours and you have to keep adding pellets for the full 7 hours. Wrapped after and finished until tinder. It had a small smoke ring and tasted good! Watch it carefully so you don't get a grease fire!! Also I used my 100% flavored wood pellets and not their cheap kind.
Nice!! Just curious that everything went smooth because it says not to re-fill the pellets more than 2 times so that had me wondering if I wanted to cook a 5 lb. brisket and I wanted to use smoke the whole time. I think I'm def gonna try that out and give it a go for myself. thanks for posting your method!!
Can you take a video of the amount of smoke coming out of it when it’s full blast? Also when you opened it after smoking there didn’t seem to be any smoke in there. Asking because I have to use a propane grill on my apt porch. I used a little cage with wood pellets to add smoke during the cook. Sometimes it’s quite a bit of smoke doing that. I have a fan that blow it away from the building so it doesn’t bother other tenants. I was thinking of maybe switching ti this grill some day.
No offence but a real steak cook goes by the feel of the steak not by using a thermometer you are letting the juices run out I've been cooking steaks for 41 years and I can tell how done a steak is by the feel.

This is crazy! Just when you think there's nothing else for Ninja to do!
They definitely think outside the box.
I suggested it on their instagram but I can’t believe they did it either. They are now making outdoor cooking better
Right just ordered mine I love my ninja foodi it does pretty everything, hoping this is just as good
Next-level steaks. My father approves. Thanks man!!
Appreciate it!
Followed along while I cooked mine, first time I ever cooked anything on it and they turned out perfect! Thank you!!!

Still debating on the pre-order. I love a smoked grill piece of anything.
It seems easy to operate. That's what I like. Thanks for the tutorial CJ.
Thank you!!
I just got one of these grills and on day 2. Made pork shoulder this morning, chicken, and burgers. I can’t imagine food without smoke now!
Awesome!

Right on! Thanks!

Do you flip the steaks while the smoke is on?

Hopefully you’ll do a longer smoke like ribs , I want to see if it actually produces a smoke ring
Just got ribs at the store. Will work on it next week.
@@CookingWithCJ Great idea..
Bro I’m really grateful for your videos! I tried the ribs from your other video and it came out great! Gonna try steak today

Thanks brother!
I’m convinced. I’m getting one of these grilled. Thanks for sharing 👍🏿
Right on!!
Man you have all the newest toys bro!!!
Always want the new hotness!
Hey CJ, how long did it take for the steaks to reach that 110-115 temp when you had them on the smoke setting?
I believe like 10 min
Amazing cooking video on RUclips ✌️ 😎
Thanks!
COOL TOOL, especially if you have a small place, apartment/condo, this could be a useful tool in cooking.
Definitely! Thanks!
I wonder if smoking in the air fryer basket would give better smoke penetration? What do you think?
Not sure it’s be so much you’d notice.

And the model with the temp probe is definitely something worth looking at for sure

Not impressed with thus
@@davidwright1492 Why?
Looks good. Can you set the grill to displY in Celsius?
I will check, I didn’t notice one way or the other.
Looks good. I didn't see a smoke ring, could you do a full cook just using the smoker to see if a steak gets a ring?
No smoke ring on the steaks. Doing ribs this week, we’ll see what happens with that.
This grill looks awesome and is perfect for my needs. It's pricey but looks well worth the money.
Very cool.

Does the grill stick? I’d it easy to clean?
It’s really easy to clean the grill plate.

Awesome! The manual says you should only need a half cup of pellets per cook, but I’m not sure that’s actuate. I’ll definitely put that to the test.
Thanks CJ 😁
Hi CJ - I was thinking about getting a pellet grill combined with griddle/ sear feature. How does the Ninja Woodfire compare with the above mentioned equipment.
It can smoke and sear with the grill. They have a griddle plate that you can purchase separately. It’s just not as big as most pellet grills.

Is the grill plate on when ur on smoke mode?
No, not unless you set it in grill mode.
Awesome cook…can you tell me the wattage draw, I might be able to use my small Solar generator camping. Thanks
I think he mentioned that in his unboxing video!
It’s 1760 watts

How long can you smoke on this for before having to refill the pellets?
So far it’s like 30-45 min before it burns out.
I’m tuned in friend 😋
Awesome! Thank you!!
But wait there’s more ..love it!!
Yes!!
Nice vid man. Never heard of Denver steaks before. They look good.
Thanks bro
HI CJ...
Is this grill electric or is it but pellet use only
Hi, it’s electric.
Can you use any pellets? Or they have to be ninja pellets?
You can use any food safe pellets
This is my first video of yours, but do you not own a meat thermometer that measures your temps constantly rather than having to constantly temp check?
I own plenty, just didn’t use it for this cook. Thanks for watching!
Steaks look great!😋😋
Thank you!
Why do you remove the streaks after the smoke just to put them back in 20 seconds later?
I patted them dry, to remove the moisture on the outside, so they sear up better.
Hey C. J. You need to put one of those steaks on your eye. LOL.
Lol
Yum, those steaks turned out great! Awesome grill👍
Thanks Bobbi! ❤️

When this.grill come in France ?
I don’t know. I heard it’s in the UK, so I have to think it’ll be soon.
What is the minimum smoking temperature for the unit?
200 I think is lowest, but I’ll test it.
Can you take a video of the amount of smoke coming out of it when it’s full blast? Also when you opened it after smoking there didn’t seem to be any smoke in there. There’s a fair amount of smoke at the start. I had let most of the pellets burn through and smoke clear.
How low does the smoke temp go ?
I think 200. I’ll have to check next time though.
My temp spike is really not working , worked twice in 5 cooks really not good
You go cj looks delicious

I think I’ll still use my pellet smoker and charcoal grill to do my steaks.
All good. Trust me I still have all of mine!
Can you grill without the lid down so steak doesn’t overcook? That’s my only concern.
Yes you can! On this grill, it heats from the top and bottom.
@@CookingWithCJ Seems like it turns off once you open the lid?

Yep! Even the heating element that gets the pellets smoking is electric.

The coating on the grill plate is flaking off after using it four times. Clearly a defect in the grill plate. Beware, warranty does not cover this.
OMG. Is that a Australian stumpy tailed cattle dog in the back ground?
Nah, he’s a frenchie pug mix.
Hardly saw any smoke! Thought they copied a proper smoker or bbq
It’s my fault I let the pellets run out and the smoke clear. There is plenty of smoke though
