    THIS IS SO HELPFUL.
I'm a traditional artist so the first painting I did with Krita was done with an oil technique. The approach is very GREAT in trad, but it looks different in digital.
I've been looking for a coloring technique and yours is the one closest to what I do in trad, thank you so muchhh

Beautiful painting just wanted to say that i noticed that you said you accidently merged the character with the background and krita actually has a very easy way to prevent that from ever happening which i found out recently! You only need to do what i describe once, basically when you create a new canvas before pressing create go to contents and press "as canvas layer" instead of as raster layer. Then go to configure toolbars (its under settings) and search back it should show you "fill with background color" just press on it and add it to your tool bar by pressing the right arrow. now when you press the icon of it in your toolbar it should pop a color picker window which changed the color of your background :D its impossible to merge anything with that bg because its not considered a layer so its really useful. Hope i helped!

Very lovely art style, and very realistic! Thank you for sharing this tutorial, it really helps to see how others approach drawing, because it can be so easy for me personally to get stuck in the same loop when I only draw how it comes naturally to me. Your concept of being simple with shading and highlights and creating shapes is very helpful, as I usually struggle to achieve a realistic effect in that regard. Also your voice is not annoying at all, and is very clear and understandable. Very helpful tutorial!

Since I got back to digital painting, I find it difficult to look for any sort of Krita tutorials... Software is just not that popular. It's similar to PS, but maybe it would be wise to do some of the tutorials about how the software work itself and how those tools can help during the process. U kinda explained how u did it in that specific painting but those tools could be used in many different occasions.
I struggle not only with tablet (hand is not used for it yet) but also with software options... what to do step by step. This video helped a bit so thank you very much!

If in the future you want, it would be cool if you could explain a bit more about the settings and technique you use with Krita. Especially in the shading area. Possible pen techniques. I know we can pause the video for settings but not for your technique. I know some will apply shading then drop the opacity of the layer. Others will use Overlay or Difference modes.
