I'm seeing themes of 80s Punk, early 90s street wear of Paris, Old Hollywood, Sci-Fi Film (The Matrix) - its very expressive - The story of this collection (for me) is Punk Rock.
What an inspiring collection, every single look is a piece of art! But the last dress OMG and the cast was the best in years! Natasha, Mariacarla, Eva, Eddie, Saskia, Iselin ❤
The setting of the runway and sitting position of guests was so distracting though. Would have loved to see more of the model and the the garments without being so distracted by everything. ❤
The space wasn't designed for you or the spectators outside. It's designed for the couture clients. You don't really matter (none of us do) in Balenciagas equation.
As far as I know this was the house where the first runways by Cristóbal Balenciaga took place. Demna decided to bring them back to this place for the maisons tradition and since then they take place there again.

Yves Saint Laurent was one of the first to put denim on the runway back in the 70's. It was his ready to wear collection, but was still considered scandalous at the time. The shock has long since passed. In my opinion, whether it's actual, or faux, it needn't be couture.
