The reversed crucifix is just as holy of a symbol, immsmr. Even more so for the Anglican Church. But yeeeah, that scene is chilling. I remember watching it for the first time, and let me tell you, it was a DARK period of my life, and god, if it didn't send shivers down my spine. And then came the 9th OVA, that (never expected that) beat even the glorious 4th in my personal list and forever made Alexander Andersen one of my favorite anime characters.

The tragedy in this song is so perfect for Hellsing. Those characters and their motivations... Alucard, Seras, Integra, Anderson, the Major, Walter, Maxwell... I have barely seen so much character deepness in any film or series ever.

Stand up to Alucard in term of strenght perhaps. But much like Alucard the werewolf captain was a monster. And therefore he would not have been able to defeat Alucard. Anderson was the only one in the end that Alucard admitted that he woudl've been able to truly defeat him. Not even Walter who sacrified everything or the Major who carefully planned his war for 50 years with the sole purpose of defeating one man were given such praise from the monster itself.

Out of all the fights in Ultimate this is the one that disturbed me the most. I really felt so sorry for Anderson, I almost wanted him to win so that his sacrificing his very own humanity would not be in vain :( . Seeing what he became after jamming the nail in his heart... I almost just about cried, and the music really brings home the magnitude of what he'd done (T_T) *sniffles* .

Every time I die... this is the vision that greets my eyes. And every time I think... how lovely that sunlight... which I forsook so many centuries ago...
Okay, I have to say it; out of all the saddest scenes I've seen in anime, this has got to be, in my opinion, THE saddest. When I saw what Anderson had done to himself, I couldn't help but tear up. He was a character that I rooted for more than alucard, and when he stabbed himself with the nail, I got so mad, but at the same time, I teared up. He was one of the best rival/nemesis characters in anime, and I don't think there is someone who could outdo him. R.I.P Anderson. You were a true saint, and we all miss you.

Love this show. I waited a whole so inpaicently for every episode. It was horrible. I started with the german version, which has by far the best voices, sadly it was canceled after the 4th Episode. However the Production is continued, wich is awesome. Because for me the voice of Alucard will allways be the german one. However, I like the accents in the english version, this is something you simply can't pull off in german

Okay, in all seriousness, this was a powerful and heartbreaking scene for me...Anderson was the only one who could beat or stand up to Alucard, and in taking away his humanity...he doomed himself, and that was the best and worst moment of the show to me. Rest in piece Father Anderson...

I want nothing more than to be a bayonet, a bayonet wielded by the hand of god. I would of been happy to of been born a storm, or a divine threat. A mighty explosion or even a terrible hurricane. A divine force of nature without a heart or pity.
I'll just point out that the Werewolf Captain also could stand up to Alucard.
Stand up to Alucard in term of strenght perhaps. But much like Alucard the werewolf captain was a monster. And therefore he would not have been able to defeat Alucard. Anderson was the only one in the end that Alucard admitted that he woudl've been able to truly defeat him. Not even Walter who sacrified everything or the Major who carefully planned his war for 50 years with the sole purpose of defeating one man were given such praise from the monster itself.

Out of all the fights in Ultimate this is the one that disturbed me the most. I really felt so sorry for Anderson, I almost wanted him to win so that his sacrificing his very own humanity would not be in vain :( . Seeing what he became after jamming the nail in his heart... I almost just about cried, and the music really brings home the magnitude of what he'd done (T_T) *sniffles* .

Okay, I have to say it; out of all the saddest scenes I've seen in anime, this has got to be, in my opinion, THE saddest. When I saw what Anderson had done to himself, I couldn't help but tear up. He was a character that I rooted for more than alucard, and when he stabbed himself with the nail, I got so mad, but at the same time, I teared up. He was one of the best rival/nemesis characters in anime, and I don't think there is someone who could outdo him.
R.I.P Anderson. You were a true saint, and we all miss you.

Love this show.
I waited a whole so inpaicently for every episode. It was horrible.
I started with the german version, which has by far the best voices, sadly it was canceled after the 4th Episode.
However the Production is continued, wich is awesome.
Because for me the voice of Alucard will allways be the german one.
However, I like the accents in the english version, this is something you simply can't pull off in german
