Thanks for the post. I'm exploring gas options as I'm in the same boat as jwgraham77. I've been making my own coal but it takes too much time. I'm looking forward to the insulation and burner builds.
Good video... But why aren't you working on a bench? It always fascinates me when people work on their knees from the floor. Surely you have a proper bench/worktop in your garage? Could you make a video explaining what insulation you used along with fitting instructions? All the best.
Those hinges leave a lot to be desired. I would count this video as a way not to install hinges. Facing the "Front of the Forge," the "L" should be facing up towards the sky, because the way you have it, when you open the door, gravity will take effect, and the door will just fall to the ground. I'm very surprised it did not happen while demonstrating the door. As for the right side hinge, what a night-mare just to open.
Right you are Stanwood Dave. The L facing up would be much better. I have been forging quite steadily and only have had to use the door once on a sword build i just finished. Thank you for the comment.
At a glance, the burners appear to be Michael Porter designs?? Are/have you going/posted the burner video? How's the temperature and fuel economy with two burners? Thanks, for the post; more ideas are always better!
The link is now posted for the burner build in the description. It has no problem reaching forge welding temperature and in my opinion the fuel economy is great. I recently forged a sword from a large coil spring with one tank of fuel or less. The forge needs to be much longer for Heat treating long blades I found out :(
Joe M Mams well gawd dam It he was supposed to make this vid just for you. How about you search for what you actually want to learn. Damn there’s a thought huh?
Sorry for the late post I followed the video for a bit and did not see many views and now there are quite a few. I posted my burner build which the link is in the description and will very soon post then insulation part of the forge build. Thank you all the support.

I have forge welded many times with it very easily.
