  • Only one team started a season worse thru eight games...the 1961 Redskins started 0-8 before finishing 1-12-1 (beating AND tying Dallas). 3-13 is the worst full-season team record in the 16 game era. Will this team win more than three games??

    Whats good Redskin nation, Redskin fan here for the last 30 years and i said we would be lucky to win four games this season. Just because of the QB position and coaching. We got rid of Jay, now we need a QB. I do not believe Haskins is the answer. When you have not played a professional game and your asking a HOF player to give up his retired number, your priorities are all F'd up. He reminds me of Jamarcus Russel, they even had the same kind of career in college. They can hit the WR if they are opened by five yards and if they have five seconds to throw. I just do not see him being a NFL QB. We need to solve the QB problem, hopefully Haskins makes me a believer. Thanks for the content and as usual Hail To The Redskins!

  • @prm5687

    Hail from the UK! You made me smile, I said the same thing - we are a rudderless ship. Moses needs to be gone, Trent needs to be gone, Norman definitely needs to be gone. In the draft, I would go, LT - TE - CB - WR - OL. (We still need an out n out edge rusher) I said it last year, we should've drafted a TE then got an edge rusher with the first two picks. I wouldn't have gone with Sweat and I'm still waiting to see anything from him. I wanted Jaylon Ferguson. Then sort out the OL without which, we go nowhere. That said, Flowers has turned out to a solid find. He's put his head down and put in the work and it shows.

    • @politicallycorrectredskin796

      I liked the Sweat draft. Physically he has the tools to be special. He just needs good coaching so he can develop his game. This is not the finished product, and I'm not going to get hysterical about Sweat until some time next year.
      Agree with Norman out though. I like him, but his head really doesn't seem to be in the game anymore. And now he isn't playing well either, and has lost confidence. With hindsight the trade for him was a mistake I think. It lost us Breeland I mean. And if not for the boneheaded trade for Alex Smith we would have Fuller as well. Fuller, Dunbar and Breeland sounds like a promising corner trio to me. And we'll never know, because Bruce Allen.

    First off great podcast 👍🏻.
    So to me the reason Haskins has not got the starting job at QB is that Jay & Bill Callahan want to win games 🤔 so Jay knew the only way he was possibly going to win any games is with McCoy or Keenan as starting Qb 🏈,same with Bill Callahan if he wants to have any chance of landing the head coach job at the end of the season he has to win games .
    Both head coaches will not take a chance with a rookie Qb unless Snyder/Allen tell them the Rookie has to start.
    I think thats what needs to happen Snyder and Allen need to tell the head coach to start Haskins.

    The team has a good roster, we cant keep them on the field first, Secondly, I believe our coaching has been poor. Steven A was right Jay was hired because he was a Gruden. The only other problem is we are lacking at QB. You need to develop your first round picks. There is a learning curve for QB's and itsthe most important position on the Offense. We are also running a Defense that relies on good LB play. We dont have the LB core to run the 3-4 hybrid or base. Buffalo ran it forever and it never worked. Trent needs to go and lose his yearly salary. Let another team pick it up. D. Green is right, "cmon big man"!

    • @sam21skin
      @sam21skin 4 года назад +2

      Stephen A Smith gets paid to blow things out of proportion and take sides on things. His whole show has an agenda. Sure he knew Jay was going to get fired. We all thought it would happen. And yet he still kept trying to withdraw any culpability from the prediction by downplaying his source. He doesn’t have a clue about what was going on in Landover.

  • @politicallycorrectredskin796
    @politicallycorrectredskin796 4 года назад

    It would definitely help if we fired Allen and hired someone who wouldn't, I don't know, spend three solid seasons goorming the best starting QB the team has had since Rypien and then give him away to the Minnesota Vikings. That's OK Zim, we've got you! We'll do all the growing pains and you get the finished product! Because why the fuck not!?
    I was expecting them to be this bad last year myself, and was borderline shocked when they won some games with Smith. But this year we finally landed where we were destined to go once we failed at resigning our QB. Back to square one, except it's complicated and the idiots responsible for it prefer to be in denial about everything.
    Considering the circumstances I don't get the Gruden hate at all. Just focusing on the QB position he has had one of the least enviable jobs in the NFL. Started with an overdrafted diva who couldn't play. Then had to face down the idiot front office to even get him off the field. Then three years with Cousins and no defense, before the FO fumbled him away and signed an older, less good copy of him for more money than they had refused to pay Kurt two years earlier. Then everyone breaks a leg, the FO draft Haskins against Jay's wishes and fired. Personally I think that if Jay had been consulted more he would have stayed invested in the job, which he clearly wasn't this year. Cousins, Peterson, Terry and this defense could have been a great team. They were bulding a great team. They just forgot to make sure the QB didn't disappear. When this team finally got a decent defense it didn't have a QB. And it is the fault of Allen, not Jay.

    I like to think I don’t give crappy takes so the following has been critically deliberated on.
    There’s still time for Bruce to get fired. Dan might just let him play out his duties and fire him at the offseason.
    I’m not a Callahan apologist but there’s merit to the commitment to the running game. Some quick numbers- Peterson’s record as a Redskin when he gets over 12 carries, 8-4 (7-2 in 2018). 12 attempts or less? 0-11. The Redskins have not won a single game with Peterson without focusing on establishing the run. I don’t take the game seriously unless the Skins force feed Peterson because they won’t win the game.
    And as for Callaghan, he’s fed Peterson enough (23, 20, 14 vs MIA, SF, MIN) but the issues are too much for one player to overcome, especially one that is essentially a role player on this offense at this stage of his career. It’s understandably hard to credit Callahan with earning a win against Miami. But to lose against two of the surefire playoff teams from the NFC? After inheriting an 0-5 dumpster fire?
    There has been a lack of scoring that needs to be addressed, but I think Kevin O’Connell deserves at least an equal share in the blame for that. He is the OC and he is calling plays. But Callahan should be able to have his guys on the line know their blocking assignments by now for whatever KOC calls.
    Do I think this is one of the worst Redskins teams ever? It sure might be. This is rough, but for those of us that are waiting this out, we sure can be proud of our patience lol

    • @politicallycorrectredskin796
      @politicallycorrectredskin796 4 года назад

      They don't win games when they force feed him either, so what's the difference? They can't score points. Hard to win any games when you can't score points. Mathematically impossible, in fact.

      Because of Alex Smith? That guy? His inability to overcome a point deficit across nine and a half games was unacceptable. Colt McCoy was able to overcome a point deficit the first chance he got in relief vs the Texans.

    This is certainly the worst team of my lifetime. What are your thoughts on Chase Young? I know LT is big need for us, but Young can be a game-changing edge rusher. To me, he would be hard to pass on if available. We would probably have to switch to a 4-3 if we did get him. We'll need to draft a QB in the late rounds as a backup to Dwayne, because I can't see Colt and Case being around next year.

    • @politicallycorrectredskin796

      That would be the most Redskins thing ever btw. We've run a 3-4 for eight years without having a nose tackle. Until drafting Payne. So now that we finally have one, let's immediately change back to 4-3! The more I think about it the more convinced I become that this will be exactly the offseason silliness they engage in in 2020. It is just too stupid and counterproductive to pass up really. Hail to the Redskins, hail to idiot billionaires and their flunkies!
