At night, when I know the water will freeze, I fill my cook pot, knowing the water will be where I need it when I start breakfast in the morning. Great tips!

Upside down. It works. I’ve never had an issue using this method and the motion of moving down the trail keeps the water agitated, also helping. Cheers to ya on 2024!✌️
Very nice ! I wish I knew that on my AT in 2017 definitely had some freeze up when I didn’t place em upside down , definitely a good method Happy trails
Still here. Thanks for the tips much helpful. I was thinking about going on a day hike at the Sycamore national forest just south of me. Small place to go but looks interesting to me. Iv been Hauling loads through that area for the past two weeks never knew it even Existed. Iv ben Through there many of times. I told my self im going here soon.snow on the ground or not. Its happening...........
