- In this VladTV exclusive, Luenell interviewed comedic legend Sinbad and got him to open up about his upbringing, career, and personal life. Sinbad recounted stories about playing basketball in college and being recruited to play at Air Force by the incomparable Gregg Popovich. He talked about hosting "Showtime at the Apollo" as well as what he learned from Bill Cosby. Sinbad also touched on some of the current events, primarily the social fallout from COVID-19 and how it is going to impact the comedy world.

He was one of our VIP guest at the Loews hotel in Miami Beach where I was working as a concierge back in the days. He was a very big deal and yet never treated anyone with arrogance if anything he was down to earth. He was nice, polite and very respectful to everyone from the housekeepers to the valet and everyone in between. When he sat at my desk every other and employee that was around would come closer because he would make people laugh so hard. In never impose, expect or demand things because he was famous. To this day we still remember him, he’s smile and kindness.

Lunell was not how I expected her to be. I expected that she would, at least, cut up with him a lil, but she sounded like she was trying to be a interviewer or a journalist or something. She developed herself in one way and switching to some othe persona, just when it was getting good. No doubt, get your paper, but don't change who you've always been..Keep your legacy in mind, because you DO have one, and its that friend of your woman or your mom that always had something SPICY to say..I dont know, thats my take..

Luenell pulled off a great interview with her comrade Sinbad. But Sinbad's clean comedy is way funnier than the whole lot of so-called comedians of today. The proof is in his pudding and he never fails year after year after year. He is what you call "quality".
Always loved Sinbad his take on Bill Cosby was honest truthful and food for thought. Sinbad his humor is only surpassed by his common sense, love for his people and being a damn good comic. Love and respect to you and the knowledge everyone who grins is not your friend.

He opened for Luther Vandross at Madison Square Garden in the 90's that was the funniest performance ever! I screamed to Luther, " I Love You! " he replied, " I Love you too! "
I started crying uncontrollably, my mother had to take me to the bathroom to get my composure. That was my first concert!

This interview is like a comedy show. Sinbad doesn't have to force it, funny comes naturally to him.
I've got a nephew like him. He talks about gettin' spanked by his folks, but I bet he was one of those kids who just laugh when they get spanked, and following his big brother who was straight As, they probably worried about him. Just somebody you can't make do anything he ain't inclined to do.

People forget...the reason comics come up with those jokes on the fly is that they are incredibly brilliant and quick witted.
Oh, yeah, Sinbad is incredibly smart and so quick. My wife and I saw him in Charles Town, WV a few years ago. He just wings the whole show and somehow without any duds. Just great joke after great joke. Incredible... I wish I had done some ab exercises in advance as my midsection was sore for days following the show.
