This has to be one of the best videos I've found on RUclips about this. I'm an intermediate player who's just struggling with chords being too bland and cheesy, and have scoured the internet looking for help. Thanks for being so in depth but still clear, concise, and straight to the point. Go Royals.

Pro Tip write down every chord from 1-8 (keep a journal for this stuff). Write it in a grid like you would an excel doc. I find that taking just a couple minutes to write it down first saves me a ton of repetitive work on the keys. Amazing vid here! 10/10. God bless.

@@jesunifemiale8619 I have a nice journal that I keep at my piano, just regular lined paper not a musical staff. I wrote 1-8 at the start of each line and I wrote the notes for each chord [CDEG] [CHORD NAME]. I find the writing process adds a new layer to learning. It really helps.

I've played piano since i was 10 (66 now) plus 10 years lessons w Allaudin Mathieu.
I couldn't stop watching this! It's so clear - and the presenter is so friendly.
It's NEVER too late and Always worthwhile to go back to the beginning. There's always something new to learn.
    - BTW an opera singer from UK traveled (many yrs ago) to India to study w the Dagar brothers. She was instructed to sing SA for a whole year - basically sing C for a year and nothing else.

This video just restates why this channel is called "prettysimplemusic".
The chords are pretty, then KC comes in to simplify them, the end product is - music that is pretty and simple.!

Peace and greetings to you good Brotha' and thank you kind for giving a clearer understanding to the type of chords that naturally come to my ears when I'm inspired to write.. Integrating these with chords that I learned and fell in love with from the early 70's that I personally call Hippy Chords is what enchants me to music appreciation...Thank you again Sir, for your sacrifices, and kindness...And By the way,...your teaching skills, and decorum are exceptional..

Good morning sir I really appreciate your generosity God bless you.
I have heard advance musicians doing some tricky moves in-between their fingers while holding a cord and I'm like what the hell is going on 🙆 would be grateful if you teach on that 🙏
