    The Black Baron from JS has changed Wooly forever.
    The Black Baron is JS favourite and most popular summer series board and there only twin fin. A performance twin fin with a modern feel.

    Got mine in 5’10” eps two days ago and surfed it at Trestles today in 2-4 ft midtide waves. I’m pretty amazed. All the other reviewers suggested going small, really small. Like as little as 5’4” for someone like me at 175lbs. Wooly here and the guy I talked to at JS both said around 5’10” (35L). I’m so glad I listened, it’s ultra light and loose, not chattery, and paddles well. Ive been trying out so many boards to find the balance of vintage and modern, floaty but agile. This one is going to stay with me.

      Yes the PU version would be great too. I planned to use the board in small sloppy waves so the EPS version is better for that. If I was going to ride it in slightly bigger surf I would probably go for the PU option.

      Hi mate,
      I think I like the Monsta Box would be better suited to those type of conditions. Also depends on your height - you have to go up about 1" to get the same volume in the Air 17 X so I prefer to ride the Monsta Box. Yeah the twin is super fun!

    Hi wooly, i am considering to take a black baron that but i want to know if u have tried the red baron and diferences. I am 69kg and 1.69cm and hesitating between 5.8, 5.9 or 5.10... I want a really good paddle power, because if not I already have a seaside 5.3 (27l) and dont want to have a similar range board, i want that board for weaker surf than the seaside, but dont know if having too much volum will destroy the amazing performance of this twinny... hope u can help me.

      @WoolyTV  4 года назад

      Hi mate, yeah had a Psycho Nitro a couple of years back. I seemed to enjoy the BB a bit more as I found it a lot of fun. The Psycho Nitro I had was the same volume as my Monsta Box so it didn't grovel very well for me. If I go back for another one I think I would go around the same volume as the BB! Yew

      @@WoolyTV It's interesting because I'm riding the Psycho Nitro a little smaller than the Blak Baron. The Psycho doesn't grovel as well but I found it a little easier on the backhand especially when it got a bit more bowly. Mine's in HyFi which is sick. Also got the Air17X HyFi and that board is so good for West Coast South Africa.Cheers mate. Great reviews. Spot on

      @andyfallshaw3069 4 года назад

      I'm so with you on this Nic. I was about to retire my Psycho Nitro as it had glimpses of fun, but the sweet spot was too narrow and it felt a little stuck at times as a thruster. I figured I may as well try it with the MR Twin & stabiliser before selling it, and now with that setup it's one of my favorite boards. The extra tail rocker and tuck (compared to the Baron) lets you lay it over a little harder, but the twin+ keeps it loose and sparky. How are you finding that setup compared to the Blak Baron? Is the difference as you'd expect?
