Every retail workers worst nightmere. But can we all agree we have served a customer like this at least once
Genuinely have no patience for these kinda customers and I work regularly with the public !
I think it's unlikely that customers like this exist in real life, its a comedy sketch
@@drewb1263 Trust me , they do!
I work in grocery retail..... We sold out of Easter eggs last Thursday, there is a VERY LARGE sign on the door, NO EASTER EGGS...... Another sign inside the door, NO EASTER EGGS. How many times do you think we were asked? why haven't you got them? We had them for months.......!!!
@@drewb1263 Oh, they do exist. My first job was in a shop that sold a huge range of greetings cards, all sorts of designs for all sorts of occasions. "Haven't you got any that say 'Happy birthday, Step Granddad' and have a picture of a castle by the sea on them?", "Haven't you got any Sympathy cards with puppies on them?", "Haven't you got a card like this one but bigger?"
It was always "Haven't you got", not "Have you got" as if we were being negligent in not having that exact card.
Please more of this, it's so good!
Walliams makes my skin crawl.
More like the most difficult retail exchange.
Without doubt, these two characters are my favourites from Little Britain. Timing, facial expressions and Matt mimicking word for word, Margaret is just hilarious. 😅
Inspired/stolen from a Steve Coogan sketch.
This is definitely an idea from the two Ronnies sketch. Not original
@@adambutterworth7608 it started monty python
Definitely.
Lies again? Sometimes when people are not slow, they will be daydreaming
I was in the audience right on the front row for the filming of the Birthday Card sketch. The whole place was howling.
He likes the Sea. Word.
How did the recording work? Some scenes were recorded/acted in front of you while for outdoor sketches they showed a screen to react to?
He must have gone back......@@Nekosphere

My favourite Mr Mann is when hes looking for a painting of a disappointed horse...😂😂😂

Brilliantly funny! 😂.
One of the most underrated sketches
Understated too!
"But in my time of life you can't afford to be picky" 🤣🤣🤣
This always gave me nightmarish flashbacks to my own time in retail... this is practically a documentary 😂😂😂
I worked in a model/ hobby/ games store. Some of the older customers were... shall I say, perculiar.
This is indeed a documentary for incredibly over-specific, impossible time-wasting customers, with zero social skills and a talent for making everyone feel uncomfortable.
The number of times I would spend 30+ minutes attending to someone's specific request for help with a project, find them a dozen products to help, show them tutorials on the exact thing they were trying to do, lend personal advice, and they'd look at the exact thing they needed and say "oh it's a few pence more expensive than I was looking to spend today" or "I think I'll get it next week" or the most infuriating one of ignoring all that advice and getting something completely wrong for what they wanted to do anyway...
@@AllThingsCubeyI genuinely believe that a big portion of the public devote their lives to aggrevating retail workers out of pure amusement
used to work in a big electronics and white goods chain. There was a guy one time that came looking for tires, used tires in fact. We were so amused by it that we just messed with him a bit: i asked for a colleague in the "tires and used tires" section of the store(which we didn't have), then left him there to wait while i explained the situation to a friend of mine. He came and asked him for minutes about different things regarding tires, even fake stuff. In the end we sent him to another store we didn't like very much, after pretending to check if they carried the specific set of tires. I would feel bad but we were fed up with people asking moronic questions. The store wasn't even large, you could clearly see we didn't have tires on display..
@@AllThingsCubeyYes, but i always found what i needed. 👍🥇
I'd watch that film starring Rick Moranis and Chevy Chase as a pair of cops who have to go undercover as rappers in order to foil a drug deal, certificate 15. It sounds entertaining.
I like to think that that movie does actually exist in an alternate reality, and it's a huge success. Certificate 15
@@emanueleg.4651
And it is very amusing
Me too.
You’ll have to wait
Such original comic material & really miss them.Hilerious
For anyone that's worked in retail, it's not original comedy, it's a documentary.

He looked more annoyed than anything.
They are GREAT . uniquely so

"I'll just wait" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I was hoping to watch Series 4 of Little Britain tonight, but it hasn't been made yet.
It's okay, I'll wait...
😂😂😂😂
*heavy breathing*.......
Love it 😂😂
It's almost as if Roy deliberately changes the contents of the shop to avoid him but still ends up coming back. 🤣
This is absolutely spot on as a typical British village shop, because every British person has been to one of these small shops where the bell rings as you open the door, & after a minute an old man appears, looking grumpy because you've disturbed him from watching daytime TV, & watches your every move. You feel like you HAVE to buy something. Oh, & they all seem to have a woman named Margaret upstairs who knows what they have in stock.
Not anymore, the English British shopkeeper, indeed Town Centre is replaced by Amazon.
@@bananabrooks3836 Why would anyone except the poorest of the poor buy something from Amazon, when you have to _wait_ for your stuff? Doesn't make any sense whatsoever. And obviously it's horrible for both people and the Earth.
@@VideoDotGoogleDotCom 'The poorest of the poor'! Are you channeling Dickens?
No such thing as British Village or British person
Or south asian grumpy old grannies and grandpas.
I was hoping to spend around £4.80 gets me every time! 😂
This becomes significantly less funny if you've ever actually worked in retail and know this is just what every second or third 40-60 year old acts like.
try ict helpdesk. you will beg for retail 😂
"A book on the history of medieval english music ranging from the years 1356-1390"

So specific like! 😂 And it seems like Margaret is the only one who knows!
My favourite is when Margaret says she doesn’t have any legs 😂

@@eduardo_corrochio😂😅😊 Oh I am laughing.
'MARGRET.... MARGRET.....' is my favourite line from all of the Little Britain sketches. Matt Lucas's delivery and subsequent look while he's waiting for her to reply is just spot on. These sketches always remind me of a 2000s version The Two Ronnies four candles sketch. Would have loved to have these two do a Comic Relief version of that.
It's so good isn't it!
When he asks her to come down and she says I haven't got any arms and legs!!!
😂😂😂😂😂
Margaret"YES"?
We called our cat Margaret after Margaret 😅
Does your cat know about the film with Chevy Chase and Rick Moranis as cops who go undercover as rappers..Certificate 15?
I swear, 60% of good comedy is so often the writers and performers tapping into the audience's aniticpation and expectation. We know what's coming because it's a reucrring thing but we love it every time. Margaret will always say "Yes?" when called--- eventually.
Same goes for "Keeping Up Appearances" whenever Elizabeth arrives for coffee at Hyacinth's. She will spill something, and it's just a matter of time.
He was definitely meant to be a one time character but they realised they had to make him a regular
Absolutely BRILLIANT!!! Like something Samuel Beckett might pen. I love the sets, fantastic display of models vehicles. Also, beautiful wooden counter in the last sketch. Well done on the attention to detail.
Legend has it hes still waiting for that Chevy chase film to be made
Roy the shopkeeper sounds like a parrot when he says "Margaret?! Margaret?!" 🦜
I really like the way an unskippable advert interrupts every punchline.
Me too, I'm sure this is what the original content was made for
For me the best sketch on all of little Britain series
Oh, I love it. I've never laughed so much before as I did at you Matt and David ♥️♥️🤣🤣🙌🙌🍀🍀👍👍

I think anyone who's worked in retail has encountered many, many customers exactly like this 😂
Folks, there really used to be a guy like this in my city! He always went to the local Holland&Barretts store to ask the poor customer service agents all sorts of stupid questions. He pestered them for hours - he never bought anything, he was just wasting time. Well, he really stood out because he never wore pants! Yup, he was always dressed in a suit jacket and... underpants!!! No matter what the weather!
No idea what became of him, I haven't seen him for some years now - maybe he finally got the help he needed...
I work in holland and barrett n yes we get people like this but fully clothed
No way! Just underpants? That’s so bizarre it’s funny.
@@janslehmann05 He looked ever so weird, as if he had just forgotten to put pants on - shirt, suit jacket, socks, underpants, shoes... but no pants. He was a very tall guy and one of the at the time very few black people in town, so he stood out all the more! The whole town knew about him! Wonder what became of him but I just hope he got the help he clearly needed.
Well we’ve got a Lindsey Williams? Absolutely no way 😆
He wanted something a little less piratey!
these sketches have to be the best retail training films never made
I’m so glad they uploaded the mr man sketches, easily the funniest sketch from little Britain IMO
The yardstick for comedy can be boiled down to the length of time between Matt Lucas shouting "Margaret" and the response "Yes?"
I don't understand your comment?
Can you explain in different terms?
Thanks
I don't know how they stop laughing 😂😂
I quote this when my board gaming friends and I are haggling over what we'll play next. 'Norman, I wanted something a little less piratey!'.
"Height?"
"She should have some height yes"
"Hair?"
"I do prefer it"

Never underestimate his determination.
Can't get enough of Little Britain! ❤😊😂
Tbf, im pretty sure the film he describes is almost 22 Jump Street, just minus the rapping part, its close😂
The one where’s he’s asking about the film is absolutely hilarious 😂
Brilliant, just brilliant 😂😂😂😂
7:23 The heavy breathing when he is looking at the pirate memory games.😂
Just comedy gold. Could you try and upload the Anne and Des Kaye sketches please? 😊
What a terrible customer and a delightful episode.
Did I mention she must have a glass eye? 😂😂😂
I work in home delivery and I’ve had 2 like this. One wanted an item upstairs but insisted we couldn’t come into his house and the other ordered a giant tv that turned out to be too big for his flat but refused to accept he needed a smaller one.
Did I mention she should have a glass eye ? 😂💀 4:40

Love Mr Man.
As a nerd who goes to model shops im so glad im not that guy👍 These two are grand, and davids books my kids loved when they were smaller, so funny this stuff, takes you back to better days

"Have you got anything a little less straigh jackety?"
Absolute genius because it's real. Brilliant
That sketch at the dating service is scarily precise in how we approach dating today😱.
Should of waited a good 20 seconds before saying "YES!" on that last "Mar-great!" 🤣🤣🤣
I bet someone with a chronometer was somewhere there backstage! 😆

Can we just take a moment to acknowledge Margaret's hard work? She knows all the pirate memory games, all the people looking for dates, all the films and all the birthday cards. Margaret is the best asset all these shops have, especially when difficult shoppers come!
Margret.............................................Yes.
Do you have any clips of Ting-Tong or Marjorie Dawes? Those were my favourite. Or are you afraid of youtube cancelling you? 😅
I feel like Linda Williams broke Mr. Man’s heart, they’re not speaking and he wants to be set up with her, or someone who can emulate her.
This is a celebration/commemoration of the hopeless, excruciating futility of life. The hopeless excruciating futility that gives life its fragrant essence.

That one nice model shop
As somebody who's worked in a charity shop I can fully confirm we often have customers very similar to Mr Man.
Yes. It's insane.
They walk amongst us!
I LOVE THEM BOTH ❤❤❤❤❤
I actually found a pirate memory game on eBay but it was very piratey.
Mr. Man was my absolute favorite I couldn't wait for him to come on

So glad to see LB back up on RUclips, and my favourite sketch series!
It's almost like Lou & Andy with the roles reversed...
Pure brilliance keeping a straight faces
with all these skits im starting to think he changed his business just to avoid him but as we all know it failed because He was there to torment him every flipping time
Sometimes I wish l could see a film that’s never been made, but I am not willing to wait for it as I’m not a very busy person after all.
Margaret Margaret it never gets old 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"Is there a shop that specializes in pirate memory games?"
"I'm not sure," Why not just lie and say no. I know people like this, i have worked in hospitality * food service; being difficult is why they got up that morning, just lie. If they have genuine interest in making a purchase, they will do it.
There is also a rather sad reality that some people are so lonely, with no one else in their life ,that making transactions last as long as possible is the only interaction they get in a day; so they pull stuff like this just to speak to a person.
I get it, i sympathize, but i am on minimum wage and i don't have the humanity in me to indulge it. Shame really tbh
"Did I mention she should have a glass eye?" "Margaret, Margaret (HELP!!!!)"🤣🤣🤣 They are so very versatile and gifted these two, and the British provide such an assortment of eccentric and mad characters!
Brilliant..
