      As I described in a previous post, all living organisms create hormones and compounds that can be carcinogenic in large quantities. These very same compounds can also be detrimental to health when not enough is being made as well. Estrogen is an example of chemical hormone that is necessary for human life, but also is classified as a carcinogen because excess can cause cancer. Low amounts can cause osteoporosis, heart disease, cardiovascular disease, infertility esc. There are many compounds in nature that have beneficial properties in low quantity’s, but can cause cancer in large quantities. Organisms require a balance, hence the saying “everything in moderation”. I indeed believe meat is a fantastic easily absorbed source of nutrition, however small quantities of different foods is ideal. The trick is find out what works for you. Everyone’s genetics and micro biota is different. Everyone’s ancestors depending on region consumed something different, therefore we are all uniquely adapted to eating certain foods.

    I get what Dr Chaffee said. Still there are people who have lived for centuries eating nearly only coconuts, and who were perfectly fine. People in Greece/Italy eat plenty of olives, and sure they also eat a lot of meat, but they are still pretty fine eating olives... I don't think that eating small amount of strawberries or blueberries whent it's the season has a massive bad impact on my average health. So I take all of that stuff seriously, but I think it can be balanced with other datas.

    • @Zenivore
      @Zenivore 6 месяцев назад

      Well, they may be "perfectly fine" but they didn't thrive like the carnivorous tribes and places in our history. Dr. Chaffee actually has an awesome video explaining 2 tribes...one survived on mainly meat and one survived on mainly plants. The meat eaters had the best health.

    • @ceejay1532

      @@Zenivore What do you mean they didn't thrive? They are still here and maybe that's what is meant to be.
      To all you beautiful ppl.
      The one question everyone on both sides of the isle need to ask is "What is in the food that we eat in the USA?"
      The meat in tribal countries is not processed in any way so of course they survive on it, they have no dis-ease or weight issues. You can see videos all day long of tribes hunting and killing monkeys and wild boar, and preparing them for dinner, all with no seasoning. In some cases they eat meat raw. I doubt they will survive long on the meat from USA.
      The environment and where you live has a huge impact on the quality of the food eat and the life you live.
      Allegedly they are foods and chemicals here in the US that are banned in other countries? Why is that?
      You could also apply the same argument for fruit and veg.
      My parents grew up in the islands and ate both meat and veg. The had farms and grew their own food. Untouched by the the processing companies.
      One of the reasons you have advocates for both sides is because we are all different.
      Ultimately do what works for you, but don't dis all the other options because it didn't work for you.

      As omnivores humans are adapted to eat a variety of foods. Some foods contains a certain amount of substances that are not good for your health. But as long as the amount you eat does not exceed your limit, it is safe to consume. When giraffes eat the leaves of a tree, the tree responds by producing more toxins. The giraffe is eating these toxic leaves, but once it has reached its limit, it goes away to find another tree. We are adapted to deal with many of these chemicals. We just have to make sure the intake of them does not exceed our upper limit on a daily basis.
      Bitter substances are bad for you in high doses, but actually healthy in small doses.

      Thats because if someone switches from a SAD diet to eating just plants or meat or both, healing still occurs, but that does not mean plants are not causing harm. Even if you think the plants you eat daily are not harming you, they are, and it will catch up to you eventually. The only thing not harmful is the meat and fat from ruminant animals and water, assuming your water is completely clean, free from deuterium and microplastics and such.

    • @miklimecat9636

      Some say it's because anyone coming from the crappy Standard Modern Diet (processed foods, junk foods) will start to heal if they eliminate all of that and start to eat real whole foods only.
      But long term, those who go plant based may have to deal with nutrient deficiencies, as well as potential toxic overload. It depends on how careful they are to supplement for nutritional deficiencies, and how careful they are to avoid or limit toxic plants as well as pedticides, etc. This is my guess, anyway.
      You just have to choose what gives you the most healing and what allows you to get stronger long term. Personally, I'd do carnivore or very customized ketovore (only eat a small amount of plants my body can deal with).

      While I am just asking, can someone explain to me whether plants were that bad for Adam and Eve. I know that Noah after the great flood ate meat more because there were no enough plants immediately after the flood so they survived on meat. So, my belief is really about eating some selected plants, meat, fish, chicken, guinea fowl, eggs + intermittent fasting.
      I think also that, our human system's response to whether plant based diet or Canivor diet is different. Dr. Talked about natural toxins in plants, which plants do not have natural toxins so we can concentrate on those plants + Canivor diet 🙏

    Love this subject!
    Dr.Chaffee i wish you could do a video on all the anti-nutrients and what they do in the body, also
    talking about does for them too to where they would be more toxic and cause issues vs low exposure.
    I know Sally Norton's book "Toxic Superfoods" and Judy Cho's Book "Carnivore Cure" talks about these things already,
    but i would like to see a video done by you talking about these things more in-depth.
    I think people really should know and understand what these plants, vegetables, fruits ect,. have and
    stop scoffing at the idea that they cant harm you, we need an eye opener on the subject to explain
    why and show somehow why such "foods" are not meant for human consumption.
    Its like the mustard plant, i think theres 5+ vegetables grown from it which are all man made, and
    "eat the rainbow" as they say though the rainbow all comes from 1 plant, ok, but this subject imo is not talked about
    enough, people will still go eat a salad thinking its healthy.
    Eat a salad with a steak and what happens? The proteins may not get absorbed or you may get reduced absorption,
    things like that, the real issue is this lack of knowledge, but also that in our culture we like to mix and add everything
    to our foods to make it taste great, its understandable, but we also need to know that adding ingredients, like spices,
    or eating certain foods with other foods, may or have an adverser affect.
    See what people dont get is, lets say you had something happen to you and you had to stay in a hospital for a little bit,
    they would give you iv's of water, and some "medication" a chemical of some sort. So most people can accept
    these chemicals as doing something for them whatever it may be, and they "trust" and accept this reality, yet
    on the flip side when you eat something, your body is literally processing, converting what you ate into chemicals, and
    these chemicals ... doi things, react to things, ect,. in your body.
    It might be subtle based on the "amount" you ate, but again if you were in a hospital they are giving you a dose
    of a certain "medication" a chemical to create a certain response, body does the same thing, except the dose
    is the amount of whatever your eating. Lets bring this awareness to people because food is treated like food
    im not saying to deny it but, come to an awareness that if you feel terrible that something your eating, in
    whatever amount, daily maybe has a chemical response inside you, hence the term biochemistry.
    Learn about what to eat, how to eat, when to eat, and what not to eat, its like drinking alot of water or any beverage
    during your meal, your literally doing yourself a disfavor by diluting your food, your stomach acid cannot properly
    break down and utilize the nutrients that is able to be acquired if you did not dilute your meal.
    Drink before you eat, then sip during the meal, absorption and assimilation is the key.

      I thought we were supposed to drink after we ate

    • @Gunter_Severloh
      @Gunter_Severloh 5 месяцев назад

      @@anneiconex1473 You would be diluting what you just ate, then the stomach acids cant do what it supposed to do.
      Drink alot before you eat, sip while you eat, sip after, you'll never see a wild animal after eating a big meal going down to the pond or a river and chugging down a ton of water.
      It defeats the purpose of what your stomach acid is for. Part of the process of digestion, aside chewing thoroughly, is the gallbladder squeezing out the bile to emulsify the fats you ate.
      Then there are enzymes that come into play to digest such as protease which digests protein, lipase which digests fats, and theres insulin that will come into play at a low level if your only eating fats and proteins, leptin, and other hunger molecules.
      Then the most important of all the stomach acid, hydrochloric acid itself, this stuff is so potent that if your stomach were ruptured or punctured and the acid got out and spilled inside your body cavity, it would melt everything in its path.
      So the point being is if you mix that with another chemical such as h2o water, and anything other beverage and a large amount, then the acid cant properly break down the meats and fats you ate, nor can the bile properly emulsify the fats, so you end up with this undigested food particles which may not get absorbed because their to big.

      The carcinogens are mostly due to fungi, especially saprophitic ( wood decomposers) being bio absorbers of carbon compounds ...
      Secondly, while it's true a few mushrooms will definitely kill you, people who can't guess eating an " angel of death " is a bad idea, really have no business remaining in the gene pool 😂
      ...
      3rdly, fungi, are a major player in our food and nutrition, and also, there would be no land plants, or animals without fungi.. a joke? Hardly... many of the world's most critical symbiotic n similar biology relations are involvkng fungi ..
      Glib falsehoods aside, fungi deserve better than this punch line treatment. Seriously...
      Lastly, there are several species of mushroom that are highly medicinal.....
      Fungi do indeed operate on a biochemical level.. some of this is poisons, some of it is more subtle..
      Polyphores ( Maitake , hen of the woods and Turkey tail are all polphores , and medicinal... ) are basically NEVER dangerous.. a couple are disgusting.. most are not..

      Very very bad. Acidic toxic bean soup full of antinutrients, and the effect cafeïne has on hormones and sleep quality is horrific.
      Quit it, have 2 days of headache (as with ANY DRUG) and enjoy a happier and more energetic life.
      Been there

    Plants create fruit for this reason. Fruit are your meats. Most of you on this carnivore diet are going to find out the hard way on your long term health. What feels good isn’t always good. I think a balance is good and eating intuitively.

    Talk to scientists who study the diet of early humans. Humans have been eating all sorts of plants since we began walking upright. Of course, some plants are toxic. A healthy human will have no problem eating a wide variety of vegetables and fruit. Of course, some are poisonous. Some have to be cooked. Potatoes, for example. But if you had to choose only one food to eat, the best choice would be potatoes.

    • @underated17
      @underated17 6 месяцев назад +8

      But you would not get b12 from potatoes. So if you had to choose one food only it would be eggs, meat or fish.

    • @jaykaufman6339

    • @SuperAngelic5
      @SuperAngelic5 6 месяцев назад +3

      @jaykaufman6339 During famine, there are people who survived on potatoes. I would never recommend that anyone eat just one food for long periods of time. There is always a price to pay in the long run.

    • @underated17
      @underated17 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@SuperAngelic5 but you realize that potatoes do not have b12 and that those people who survived off of potatoes have nutrient deficiencies? It is not disputable it is a fact that fish or meat or eggs are the survival foods. Fat and protein are the only essentials and minerals and vitamins are present in those foods.
