Thank you Luumi. I'm still running a p67 + 2500k build and had a bios chip corrupt about a year back when a power supply was failing. According to ASUS, VCCSA is sensitive and higher values than necessary can actually destabilize RAM. I’d suggest starting at stock, 1.05V. If you are tightening the RAM timings / overclocking the RAM then you can raise the VCCSA one step at a time and test for stability at each increased voltage step. At your own risk of course. Enabling PLL Overvoltage was necessary to hit 5.0 Ghz using High LLC on my Z68 board with a delidded 3770k. CPU PLL Voltage seemed unstable below stock 1.8V. I’ll have to do more testing to see if I can lower that to reduce temps.

Mulla ollu enne 4.5ghz mutta en tiedä millä asetuksilla. Oon my saanu ite 4.4ghz mutta 1.30V jännitteellä! Do not do loadlines. Reset everything and just do flat 1.305-1.325v @4.5 all cores No PLL. No turbo boost. Don’t do anything to power except flat voltage
Nice video! Respekt. Please continue as much as you can teaching how to OC old stuff. Allot of people still use it, as you said. I use an 3770 NON k, OC'd @4.1 all core's on a P8Z77V-LX just with the multiplier. Do you think that it can do more? Thanks.
If you aren't going above 80°c with prime95 then you can probably bump the multiplier once. If it becomes unstable, but you know you have the thermal headroom, bump up the vCore by 0.01 until it becomes stable, stress test it and check the temps. Rinse repeat until you run out of headroom. You could try to tweak the baseclock a little, but I don't recommend it, as most intel CPUs really tend to dislike booting with even small baseclock bumps. I could go 105 bclk just fine, but at 106 I had to remove the CMOS battery to get to see the bios again. I suspect my 1333mhz Corsair vengeance is to blame. Don't worry, as long as you turn the knobs slowly, instability will prevent you from seriously harming anything. Once youre happy with your overclock, prime95 for 2-4 hours. If you're going to have issues, they will show up in the first hour. The other hours are for safety. Any more than that would just be a waste of electricity.
@@hoverbike thank you very much for your time and help. I will have to try directly with Vcore, because it doesn't go above 4.1 @ all core's. Actually it goes higher with just 2 cores but the remaining 2 goes down @ 4.0 or 3.9 I can also try with Bclk but I already know that it will not go above 105, and I think is maximum for this H61/H77/Z77 MB Chips. If I will achieve something noticeable, (I'll be back)! 😊 Thank you.

I have 7 2600k and I set everything except for the power supply at 48 hertz 1.51 stably, well, I didn’t touch the drama, it is capricious. The main thing for me is that the power does not jump and the frequency of the ato crashes
asus p8z77-v (bios 2104), i7 2600k 4.2-4.5 GHz (103*43) 1.2-1.35v, ddr3 2x8 1866 (but only in 3 and 4 slot, bclk 103 slightly improves the memory speed, so I set 102-103 ("stable" up to 103.5) I set a maximum of 4.7 (101*46) and for my cooling max t. 65, and somehow I launched through Ai Suite 2 - "Auto tuning" and tried "Extreme overclocking" and knowing that it would reboot, I went to make tea, I come back I see testing 4.9 (103*47) and the notification "cpu voltage 1.5" 😓stopped, knowing my cooling and something a lot on the cpu (I read and tried up to 1.4v)
@@LuumiJuhani i haven't been overclocking since the pentium days, and back then, 'stable' was to be able to run things such as prime95 power viruses for hours on end, looking for errors or bsod's. I've learned that intel CPUs 3rd gen onwards give us WHEA error 19-20 in the cases of low vCore where the error is recoverable, however, this isn't a catch-all - you can't rely on this. You may suddenly experience software crashes. If you are lucky, you can actually hit a voltage where windows is right on the edge of even being able to run at the voltage. Leave it alone, and it's just barely enough to work. Open up windows media player, play some music, and you'll start seeing errors pop up left and right before a bsod occurs. That's the visual example of what happens. You can gradually apply more voltage and slowly see stability being reached, to the point where you will run 'stable enough' to either run cinebench, add a little more voltage for highly demanding games, etc. But the takeaway is that, you haven't achieved stability like stock until these errors stop. The difference between barely boots and stable as stock is 1.27v @ 4.2ghz Vs 1.36v This is why people refer to certain clocks as 'daily driver'. These are my arguments as to why you should adhere to WHEA errors. In your own opinion, why do you think this is wrong? I can just imagine a 'slightly unstable' overclock leading to troubleshooting hell... I mean, some programs function flawlessly, others don't. If you don't check the error logs, you might have no idea why that program always stops working and crashes out of nowhere.
The only way i managed to get 4.5ghz is on 2 core, 1 and 2. 3 and 4 are unstable at 4.5ghz, put them at 4.4ghz, so un-sync cpu. No matter cpu voltage. 1.265v 45-45-44-44

Gsmed for a few days now and clock is stuck on 4650 and temps never above 50-58c with noctua aircooler. Happy AF, didnt know these chips oc so easy 😂😂
I'm so pissed with my I7 3770K + Sabertooth Z77 that I got recently. Basically can't even get to my old I7 2600K + Sabertooth P67 level of performance, it was at 4.9ghz and recently burned 1 core but still magically works by setting 3 cores in the bios. Getting 4.6ghz is already pretty hard on this crap, 4.7 needs more than my 2600K at 4.9ghz and 4.8ghz almost impossible 🤬 Also I have the CPU full direct-die-to cooler without the heat spreader so it just can't get any better other than going watercooling, I'm using a new Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE. ps: If I wasn't tired already of disassembling and assembling this crap many times I'd test this CPU on my Sabertooth P67 to see if it would go better because this Z77 originally had the bios completely screwed and had to flash it with AMI Winflash ("AfuWin64") or else I couldn't even get my 2133mhz ram above 1600mhz and was also only reading half the ram while it clearly could read all the dims in the SPD. F* this...😡

Hey there, tried your guide and could'nt boot for a while. Next I removes one of my sticks of memory and I was able to boot and revert back my settings. I own a 3770k, z77 and 4 sticks of corsair vengence 4gb. Do you know what might have happened?
Are current coolers backwards compatible with 1155?
Many mainstream Intel coolers are designed for LGA115X so fit many of those sockets.
my old cpu motherboard asus z77 maximus v gene 4.5ghz so easy but daily use 4.2ghz
ottimo video!!! posso ottenere lo stesso tipo di oc utilizzando gigabyte z77x ud3h ?? (i7 3770 k )
Great tutorial, great video! Unfortunately my chip is far from gold and i can only achieve 4.6ghz with 1.42. Now that's what i want to ask: whats the max limit voltage YOU recommend for the 3770k? Here its delided, dual tower air cooler, with 29c amb i get 77 max cpu package in 10min of cinebench r23. 2x8gb ddr3-2400 as well. 1.42v is ok? 4.8 as far as i tried only with 1.51v+ but i think it's too high...
Jesus fucking christ 1.5v is INSANE is that chip dead yet? I'm shocked it didint break 80.
Overclocking is fun and well 5 to 10% for a good overclock now that can be a full generation for intel
Mulla ollu enne 4.5ghz mutta en tiedä millä asetuksilla. Oon my saanu ite 4.4ghz mutta 1.30V jännitteellä!
Tried removing CMOS for 10 minutes still nothing.
I'm using 3770k with p8z77v-lx, working fine @4.4GHz 1.28v using XTU (pc is turned on for an almost whole day, with a lot of idling, so it keeps going down to lowest pstate)
Can I overclock my I7-3770K with Asus P8P67 REV 3.1 according to this beginner guide?
Pretty much yes.
I have the same board :)) But only I5 2400 :( Can this also O/C without the "K"??
hi sir.. i have a question.. i have an ASRock H61M-VG4 motherboard.. also an Ivybridge.. it has just 2 slots for ram.. it's dual channel.. my question is, can i use 2pcs. 16GB DDR3 RAMs for this? i don't wanna risk buying ahead and buy something that doesn't work.. :( there is no article if it works now for higher RAM.. all i know is the default is 16gb.. but i think it was because there were no 16gb ddr3 ram before..
16GB is max for this mainboard. so 2x 8GB is the max you can do.
@@drunkenn00b ohh.. thank you sir.. that is also what i have seen in their website.. i just wanna know if it was just because there were no 16gb sticks before that is why they limited it to that.. thanks for the reply..
I tried the parameters that you demonstrated, but my computer does not turn on, the screen is black. I tried to apply other settings and get a blue screen. I have a i7 3770k asus p8z77-v deluxe. In the optimal mode, the frequency is 4.2, games crash after 15 minutes. I tried to set the frequency to 4.5 (everything else is automatic), the games crash after 3 minutes, what should I do?
Do not do loadlines. Reset everything and just do flat 1.305-1.325v @4.5 all cores
No PLL.
Actually it goes higher with just 2 cores but the remaining 2 goes down @ 4.0 or 3.9
I can also try with Bclk but I already know that it will not go above 105, and I think is maximum for this H61/H77/Z77 MB Chips.
If I will achieve something noticeable, (I'll be back)! 😊
Thank you.
Can only the CPUs with "K" overclock, or also my I5 2400 or I3 2320? I have 2 boards for these CPUs one original Intel and one Asus, both have OC options...
I have the same mobo/cpu, and my system will not overclock. I make all the changes in bios/eufi, but when I go into cpu-Z, it still shows that it’s running at 3.9 ghz max, when it is set to run at 4.5 ghz. Any ideas why??
change your mb battery
Hi, wondering if anyone could help me I copied everything on here but when and saved it, I've tried it a few times but when I go to test it, it stays at 3.4ghz
Don't touch asus core enhancement. And check power savings in OS.
@@LuumiJuhani okay thank you for the reply mate , I'll give it ago in abit now thanks
change your mb battery
thank you so very much for this vid
i can't unlock the multiplier. I just don't have a core ratio limit option in my bios
Non-K cpu?
@@LuumiJuhani Yes non K.But i see videos that its normal to push little the cpu :)
Great video Luumi! Made me think the only time I won the silicon lottery.
I've had a 3570k @4.8GHz daily for years at a ridiculous low voltage (honestly I don't remember how much, but it was like the same a lot of people used to run 4.5/4.6 GHz).
Thank you for the video
I7 3770K + Asus Sabertooth Z77 + 2133 Mhz Kingston Predator 16gb Ram,650 watt inwin psu... but cannot be overclocked the computer turns on and off by itself ... Then press f1 it says overclocking did not happen .. Where am I making a mistake?
I have 7 2600k and I set everything except for the power supply at 48 hertz 1.51 stably, well, I didn’t touch the drama, it is capricious. The main thing for me is that the power does not jump and the frequency of the ato crashes
I don't know why but after installing ripjaws xmp ram I got this cpu stable at 4.675ghz. All I changed was load line to ultra and cpu current to 120%
asus p8z77-v (bios 2104), i7 2600k 4.2-4.5 GHz (103*43) 1.2-1.35v, ddr3 2x8 1866 (but only in 3 and 4 slot, bclk 103 slightly improves the memory speed, so I set 102-103 ("stable" up to 103.5)
I set a maximum of 4.7 (101*46) and for my cooling max t.
Do you not check for whea19 errors in event viewer?
No.
The difference between barely boots and stable as stock is 1.27v @ 4.2ghz Vs 1.36v
This is why people refer to certain clocks as 'daily driver'.
That's not a bad bin. My 3570k needs 1.38v for 4.7
My previous 3770K did 5ghz below 1.3v that did many records.
Its working for p8p67 evo thx bro ❤️
Can u make same on i7 4790k & z97? (like & thx)
I already did a short video about this some time ago. Go earlier on my channel and you can find 4790K + Z97 OC Formula.
I set mine just a little lower than yours I'm using fan cooling, running 4.1Ghz
The only way i managed to get 4.5ghz is on 2 core, 1 and 2. 3 and 4 are unstable at 4.5ghz, put them at 4.4ghz, so un-sync cpu. No matter cpu voltage. 1.265v 45-45-44-44
Whats the absolute minimum settings to change to overclock my 3770k to 4 to 4.5ghz?
Based on tests and scores found online this particular Intel i7 3770K could very well be the best 3770K and Ivy Bridge CPU that ever existed
it is
Yea I bought one 9 years ago when they came out. Still have yet to find a game or anything that has been bottle necked by it.. I had a 670 with a ref cooler and It cooked itself ran at like 75c under load and eventuslly died I ocd it. Bought a 1070 evga fuck the world edition and got it at 2ghz i7 at 4.6 ghz and 16gb ddr3 1600 to 1866
it works amazing ty
mark after like, although it no a problem to oc , but noob sometime dont know how to move so vedio make them follow and make them successed thx
Is there some Windows software that I can tweak and try ?
holy shit finally
a video just for me lol
Sir remake this video only 4 to 5 minutes length
Tkank you so much!
Umm, it says my pc ran into a problem, I need help, like NOW
Just unstable?
I recently upgraded from this setup. It’s just not enough power in 2023.
I entered bios and changed to x45 aka 4500mhz and now it rund 4650mhz, dno why 4650 but ty I guess 😂 only used cinebench r23 for 1h to test it and worked.
Getting 4.6ghz is already pretty hard on this crap, 4.7 needs more than my 2600K at 4.9ghz and 4.8ghz almost impossible 🤬
Also I have the CPU full direct-die-to cooler without the heat spreader so it just can't get any better other than going watercooling, I'm using a new Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE.
ps: If I wasn't tired already of disassembling and assembling this crap many times I'd test this CPU on my Sabertooth P67 to see if it would go better because this Z77 originally had the bios completely screwed and had to flash it with AMI Winflash ("AfuWin64") or else I couldn't even get my 2133mhz ram above 1600mhz and was also only reading half the ram while it clearly could read all the dims in the SPD. F* this...😡
I did this now my computer won't display to my monitor at all RIP me
it's faster then my new 12600k xD
Please edit out your sighs in future, otherwise, great video.
It just fucked my pc up wow fuck sake I did everything now I can’t even change it back for fuck sake
Have to flash bios and start all over
