Kinda happy Blitz didn’t shoot the guy. He saw fizz having a panic attack and the sight of blood would’ve made things worse for Fizzy. Remember, in the circus episode we learned that Fizz is disgusted by blood. So I’m glad Blitzø decided not to shoot the creep while Fizz was clearly not doing well.

Blitzo is actually a really good bodyguard. Like legit, we've seen him do it twice and he was perfectly professional each time, and performed flawlessly, even when just shoot wasn't the right answer.

Remember what Ozzie said in the beginning: "[Mammon] doesn't even do clown shit anymore." Seems like over the years, he's redefined the concept of "clown" into "general purpose entertainer", probably because the more ways you can entertain, the more ways you can make money, which is all Mammon cares about.

Which is why the Glam Sister made the perfect performance for Mammon. They are marketing themselves as entertainers with lots of sex appeal. Plus there are two of them so any products of them you get double.

What I adore is an adult cartoon that appears to be about violent horny demons...is....but is laden with some of the most wonderful emotion, delightful songs and characterisation and character development.
That's what makes it so great. A lotta creators of adult cartoons think that means swearing, sex, drugs and violence and the like and just pump it full with it while completely (or mostly) ignoring the characters and story aspect.
when you have less limitations, you can tell more compelling stories.
Yeah, I also think the same. HB and HH are so great for an adult cartoon, really fitting. Couldn't imagine it being for kids! Same with Metal Family, it's more for adult but I, as a teen watch it :)
The fact that the final performances aren’t all that clown-themed has been a common remark but I personally found it to make a lot of sense: given Mammon’s greed it makes sense he’d expect his performers to branch out, the more ground they cover-so to speak-the more money they make him.
Also Ozzie specifically says Mammon doesn't even really do the clown shtick anymore. It's very representative of how he commercialised the idea into homogenisation, so the thing that it got popular for is barely even present anymore. The glam twins only have tangential clownlike qualities and just drop the name in their song for that "brand" recognition.
Fun fact: the twins were voiced by the same person who not only did Katie Killjoy in Hazbin Hotel, but Aqua from Konosuba and Astolfo from Fate/Apocrypha

Also, if you look up Nutysia (called the Western Australian Christmas tree). It's a hemiparasitic tree that has tiny blades on the ends of its roots, which slice through other vegetation and steal their water and minerals.

The fact that Fizz was stressed and the deaf little kid immediately cheered him up was so heartwarming honestly... this little Imp had broken horns just like him.. Am really proud for Fizz now... and it gives me more confidence. I..love.. clowns. For very personal reasons. 🤡 💖
I know that Season 2 had its voice cast record their parts last year and during that time Loona's voice actor Erica Lindbeck suffered a terrible loss when her boyfriend Billy Kametz, a talented voice actor in his own right, passed away from colon cancer. So I can understand if she didn't feel comfortable recording lines while in the midst of grieving the loss of someone she loved and was super close to. There was also some issue on Twitter with her voice being used by AI to make some derogatory statements. She had to work to get them removed but the Twitterverse decided to be their usual troll selves and slammed her for it. So it has not been an easy road for her. I hope things are better now for her and I'm sure we'll get more of Loona eventually along with Millie, Moxxie, and Stolas. This is only the mid season show so there's much more to come plus Season 3 on the horizon. Props to Vivzie and the whole crew for this amazing show.
I think the whole Clown/Jester thing is Hells Version of Popstars. Would explain why they perform like Popstars.
Also the Twins Song is a Reflektion of Mammon and what he wants from a Performer. Passion and Creativity means Jack to him as long as it makes Money.
Notice how Mammon didn't actually step in until Fizz said he was quitting, which would lose him money. Even openly insulting him only made him pout. So long as Fizz is raking in the cash he doesn't seem to care how he does it. He's really greed personified. Probably more so than the other sins we've met.
And of course the Australian sin turns into a giant spider.
Also props to psycho fan's voice actor. He nailed it PERFECTLY. The second he started talking i already wanted to punch him in the face. 10/10 performance.
Im glad you point out Glitz&Glam (the twins) aren't really clowns. I kinda think thats the point. They performed clowm/circus stuff earlier in the competition, but their song number was focused on sex. Hence the lyrics:
- "wanna sell my funnyslutty body to the masses" which is them telling Mammon their likeness as sexdolls will make more money than Fizz.
- "money can't buy happiness but it can rent you paradise" which is them catering to Mammon's industrious mentality, and reminding the demon citizens what they can lay for.
Glitz&Glam are capitalizing on sex which Mammon has done with Fizz, and they're song number is more about "the presentation" you know "the big show". They see what Mammon's "Clown brand" has become so they're making themselves more compatible with it.
Mammon's greed has gitteb so bad that anything he likes/promotes such as clownning, just becomes a shallow corporate gig
Neat little joke most people miss is when Mammon says women aren’t funny at the beginning, “Written by Vivienne Medrano” appears in the corner for a second.

To answer the question about how many shows…Bluey also has Sign Language focus episode.
Iirc in the commentary for that episode, since the characters only have 4 fingers, they limited the Australian Sign Language the characters performed to fit with them.

Cool to point that out. And of course they have to work inside the animation boundaries but they still put a lot of effort in it.
There are quite few of good animated shows, from Rick and morty trough Owl House up to (as evident from my avatar) My Little Pony
But for independent project this tops most big budget shows.

@@ascrinkleyfellow it wouldn’t necessarily be the fault of the show, if it’s animated there comes the issue of animation limitations. Stuff like how the hand and fingers are drawn being incompatible with Sign language.
As long as the team tries to make the content seriously, I think it’d be fine. As outside of uniform Sign Language, there’s other forms of Sign Language used irl, such as Catcher and Pitcher talking to each other by pointing to specific body parts
I never would've noticed it, but the team has confirmed the fan theory that the imp kid Mammon grabs and stretches in the first scene is a young Wally Wackford. Maybe that's why he's so much taller than any other imp we've seen.

As someone in the original comments posted. It makes sense that Fizzy would know Sign Language.
Modern day Fizz has a more of a “smoker voice”, obviously a side effect from inhaling smoke from the fire.
When Fiz was recovering from the accident, they most likely was in sever therapy and prolly couldn’t even Speak. So Fizz prolly picked up Sign Language whike undergoing Vocal Rehabilitation.
There's also the possibility that he went deaf from the explosion that broke his horns. Might've had to have his eardrums replaced too.
Except his arms also got messed up in that fire, he literally doesn’t have arms anymore, they are prosthetics

I began to see Fizz not as just a side character since he was friends with Blitzø, but as someone who had a twisted past but built his life around it after his time with Ozzie

I’d say technically they are better if only cause Bee had no issue with it being openly known she was in a relationship with one of the two lowest classes (a hellhound in this case)
Seeing as she has no problem letting Tex tell people he’s got a girlfriend nor him introducing her as his gf to people so casually like he does to Loona
While it’s not as contradictory as the Sin of Lust probably, it might have its own issues with Bee being such a open and active party girl especially with her gluttonous nature possibly
According to the official info, Mammon's true form there is based on a spider. But, given the monochrome bands along his lower body, and that he has bands on his tongue too, he reminds me of the Sandworms from Beetlejuice. It would be fitting as the worms were the bane of Beetlejuice's existence and Mammon is the bane of Fizz's.
Considering Fizz is played by Beetlejuice from broadway it would be an interesting nod.
I think those two girls use the word clown more as a summary of the role of performer. Many performances mean someone bends her/himself to be like other people might like them. Thats actually quite deep

Fizz and Oz were not on my favorites list, but after this and the previous episode, i think they are a great couple. i only hope that we can get to the point where Stolas and Blitz can be happy like that.
The episode is perfect. It strengthens the relationship between Ozzie and Fizz, even Blitzo was there for Fizz 😍

Oops and the midseason special are definitely my favourite episodes of season two so far.
I think they might just be two of the best episodes in the series to be honest.
Which is saying something since there are a lot of great episodes.
S2 really is taking off at this point in terms of quality.

Nobody other than Ozzy has said "god damn" its always been Satan damn it. Because to imps, the sins are their godly beings. However the sins would actually know of God, so they in turn still curse him directly
Interesting, I think I'd argue the opposite - the three sins we have met are not worshiped as gods, but looked up to as media celebrities. Hell doesn't seem to do reverence. And Blitzo does say "Christ on a stick" this episode; I think the sinners have brought a lot of Earth culture down with them along with their technology.
@@marithflugelhorn7352 the demons say Satan bless instead of god bless, and Satan is a separate entity from Lucifer and rules over the Wrath ring so I think they do view some of the sins at a level of deity. While we don't know to much but Ozzie did say "I've known Mammon since time began" so clearly they are alluding to the fact they existed before the hellborn and they would naturally have some level of worship for being around since creation.

Whenever I watch these episodes, I can't help but feel that Blitz and Co. are products of their own environment where life is disposable and the value of existence is diminished. I know that our world and theirs are different, it seems both our realms seem like a mirror image. I've always believed Hell was a place of torment and not like a Red Light District in major cities portrayed in the show. It brings up the whole nature vs nurture argument that we as human beings understand the consequences of our actions, while the residents of Hell care little else than satisfying their own desires that I believe have been instilled into them since birth.
What i really loved about this episodes.. you get to see some completly different types of fans here. Being a fan..of something is "something"..sometimes. Duh
- The yelling cheerful crowd.
- The aggressive/jealous/stalking type (which is the worst)
- And the best type the cute innocent type who looks up to it's idol
My worst-case scenario with Ozzy letting all of Hell know about his intimate relationship is the possibility of him getting removed as the Sin of Lust, especially of Mammon follows up and goes to Lucifer about Oz not living up to his Sin title.
I honestly have my doubts on it going that route.
From what's been shared on the type of person Lucifer is, that being someone who acts silly and goofy, he probably wouldn't care that much.
The major issue would be the Goetia since, aside from Stolas, they are prejudiced against Imps and other lower Demon races, and other demons seeing Fizz as Ozzy's weakness they can use to try and gain more power.
Bee is in a public relationship with Tex, and hellhounds are lower in the hierarchy than Imps, but she runs her ring like a massive party place so it would be hard for enemies to really exploit(not to mention they'd have to take on Tex in order to use his as a hostage for something like that)
I am not so sure you can just be fired from being of the seven princes and we won’t see lucifer Because A24 bought the rights to hazbin hotel which includes lucifer.
Im really really happy with this episode, even if the main cast was missing, and I even think if this episode was just fizz and ozzy it would have still worked, but ofc seeing blitz and fizz really healing their wounds just is so nice to see, friends finally repairing their friendship.
The only thing Ill say is that, due to a back to back episode with Fizz I WANT TO SEE HIM MORE WITH THE MAIN CAST NOW
seeing FIzz's story now makes me realize why I always had a thing for him, instantly made me realize his my comfort char.
anyways just happy to see Helluva Boss released an episode that I was really happy with, gave me the same passion and enjoyment I had in season 1. Happy they ended midseason with a bang, now wait for Hazbin in January, and around August-May for the next episode
I really like Helluva Boss’ love and support for clowns, something we definitely need more of nowadays.
Well next episode apparently is going to be about Blitz and Stolas,so tissues ready everyone wether is going be fod bad or good tears.
I almost wonder if clowns in hell are general performers, and maybe that itself is poking fun at celebrities in real life being akin to clowns with how they behave.

I don't know how the entire crew does it, but every episode of Helluva Boss continues blows my mind on well produced it is.

Viv is a fan of Michael Cusack's work(creator or co-creator of Smiling Friends, YOLO, and Koala Man) hence his voice as Mammon and he represents both an abuser in a relationship and also how the entertainment industry uses people and is often set against women. The cheese and hot sauce is a rl reference to Brandon Rogers who actually ate cheese and hot sauce as a snack(also noting Blitz ate the same thing in the Harvest Moon episode except on it was on a stick.)
This episode was so story driven and music booping journey for this mid season. 😄 I can say they there been some great performances and interesting moments throughout this episode. As I can say that I hope next episode help Blitz and Stolas get a proper shot of relationship with both Royalties falling for lower ranked citizens. Since we see that Ozzie loves Fizz no matter what. It seems so sweet and adorable to see. Now it’s Stolas and Blitz’s turn to fall for each other.
Also I can state during this episode put a lot of effort till next episode might be coming later next year, but we are going be getting a Helluva Boss: Christmas Special in December. So stay tune for it 😉

So far we’ve seen 3 of the 7 deadly sins (Asmodeus , Beelzebub and Mammon) , 4 if you count Lucifer in Hazbin Hotel’s latest episodes . I can’t wait to see the others and their personalities😁

It's interesting that Mammon seems to be more of a stereotypical glutton than Bee. She was all about everyone indulging in debauchery and having a good time, and he's stuffing his face relentlessly while exploiting other people for his personal gain.
Greed really is a horrible sin.
I knew they couldn’t keep up the wholesome sin thing, and it makes sense that greed would be the first sin they meet who actually Legitimately sucks I mean I can’t really think of a way you could make greed, wholesome lust and gluttony have dark sides too, but there are some positives to work with at least also super happy someone else pointed out the fact that glitz and glam are cool, but they are so not clowns I mean, maybe in a sense, but not in the traditional one lol

To be fair.. men are really funny but i've met many funny and entertaining women over the years on stage and private.
The most redeeming quality of Mammon here was his honesty which actually made him worse. By the same token Fizz being the most respectable performer out of the whole episode yet was beautiful the way he showed kindness to his similarly disabled fan.❤
Song fact here (nsfw)- the twins’ song spells clown as “klown”. Couldn’t initially find a proper definition, so I turned to urban dictionary. It can mean a variety of things, but the one I think they were going for is people who dress as clowns for porn purposes/performances, like the twins’ finale. The definition matches the lyrics to their song, as well. So… yeah. Not the usual clown.
This is how you right a character. In the earlier episodes at best, I couldn't care less about Fizz, at worst I was waiting for Blitz to shoot him. Now with the way he was (especially with the deaf kid) I love this character.

I love how Mammon is most of the episode title and Fizz is kinda just thrown in at the end like an afterthought. Really puts their relationship into perspective. I absolutely love how unapologetically evil he is. But it's also not super in your face either. There are times where he ALMOST seems nice. But then he says something or makes a comment that makes it very clear that he is absolutely not
While we all wait for the next episode i will strongly suggest that you guys react to the song recently released called Just look my way, song by Stolas/Bryce Pinkham.

Definitely one of the best and one of the most relatable and emotional episodes so far and that interaction between Fizz and the mute imp child was awesome.
I know that Mammon is awful and exploited Fizz and there is no arguing with that, but I can't really hate him and he's probably my favorite ring prince so far because it's so funny the way he talks and presents himself sometimes. I especially love his design, which looks like a deranged Christmas tree with wicked facial expressions and badass is the word I would use to refer to his beast form. Kudos to the Australian va that brought the character to life and I hope we see him in more episodes down the road.
His VA is Michael Cusack, also known for playing Pim in Smiling Friends, presumably why there's so many Zach Hadel background voices in this episode!
I hope you guys don't have to deal with creeps like that loser who was harassing Fizz.

Glam and Glitz's design is amazing.. (pretty dislikeable anyway) they are probably from the Ring of Envy..would fit their attitude and the fish design, because its probably an isolated ocean for sinners in hell we haven't seen yet.

Mammon is like an aweful Producer/Manager you'll see everywhere these days. With Leviathan "Envy" he must be probably one of the first sins ever so he is pretty old but without wisdom. Greed is the most disgusting raw feeling in my eyes and.. we don't get to see his"Beastform" like we see with Queen Bee before for no reason...He's pretty powerful and am sure he will tell Luficer what's going on.. something big is about to happen.

Personally, I'm kay without Millie and Moxie. I liked their cute moments but as characters I was never that attached, but I love Stolas and since I saw him last episode, I'm okay with him missing one. Stolas, Fizz, Ozzie, and Blitz are my favorite characters so I've loved the last 2 episodes.

Someone had used AI to put out a thing of Loonas VA talking shit about people she works with. It was meant as a joke, but obviously that's extremely hurtful to someone's career if others don't know. So she asked the person to take it down WHICH THEY DID! They fully understood the issue once contacted and complied with no issues. She then shared the experience on Twitter which I'm sure you know has always been the shallow end of the gene pool where people laid in to her like she was the biggest piece of shit on the planet because of this. I know I shouldn't be surprised, but I'm pretty sure my 7 year old nephew could understand why faking being someone else especially through AI is an issue in less than 2 minutes. Like that's some serious 2 braincells battling for 3rd place shit. Anyway, that's what's was going on with her.
Idk about the others, but Moxies VA has been in the game forever. I remember mid/late 90s he was Dag in angry beavers, he was Zim in Invader Zim which still holds up today. Invader Zim is a top tier show! So I would ASSUME writers strike issues as to why hes been absent, but I can't say that for certain. This show obviously doesn't have the fastest production in the world so who's to say when things were recorded. Probably could Google it, but I'm already writing so I'm committed to not caring enough to find out lol.

I've watched this several times and seen a few reactions and to day something hit me that may be a major plot hole, maybe someone can exsplain it.

there’s also fizz being a genuinely good person who wants to do right by his fans, which I’m sure mammon noticed immediately since the flashback showed fizz already valuing the experience of working with his idol rather than wanting to be super famous. he was easily exploitable bc of his good nature and being a good person was probably the reason he made so much money for mammon in the first place
I have never understood why were clowns invented as in who and why ever thought them funny. I never do, like, okay they may tell jokes, non-clown people can do that too...and then throw pie around and honk their noses, make baloon animals and juggle and what else ? What is supposed to be funny about them?

Personally my hot take is the show took a bit of a turn after 3 or 4 episodes into season 2, and I feel like it's easy to tell why.
The turn I refer to is that its taken a tone shift from how the show started, where everyones kind of an arsehole as they should be, it's Hell, I don't expect good personification of characters. The pilot literally is about how they're killing a kid and such. So now getting to this episode, Fizz having a sweet moment and signing to a deaf kid in the crowd and such... I mean, yeah, sweet moment, I really like it and all, but... Doesn't that feel like it should be in a different show? The first time we saw Fizz, or at least his robot double at least, was at Lulu land, and one quick argument with Blitz, suddenly anarchy breaks out and their fight has _a lot_ of collateral damage that killed a bunch of bystanders, and nobody seemed to care then.
Millie and Moxie were the only two that had the quirkiness of being a good solid couple in a relationship, and it was funny because they're surrounded by such a hellscape where you start to believe their relationship isn't the norm at all. Then we have Fizz and Asmodeus... I like them as characters and all, but for the demonic emobidment of the sin 'Lust', basically making him an arch demon of sorts, kinda coming off as waaaay too tame. Which, for comedy purposes, fine, works great, it's funny, that's why I like him. But they're also kind of tip-toeing him around certain _other_ things to do with what his sin represents. And I feel like if they're worried about offending people, well shit, what the hell do these people really think they're watching?
As for why it seems like they're going in this direction, I wager its because of Hasbin Hotel. That series got picked up to be on a streaming service, they were given a budget. Helluva Boss is still a free RUclips show. There's more to gain/lose when it comes to the audience/critic response when Hasbin Hotel airs. So why not use the show that was always intended as the side project to experiment with the variations of humour that Hasbin is looking to have. They are, afterall, going for an angle of rehabilitating inhabitants of Hell, that show is where the characters go against the grain of Hell and be all nice and such (to an extent anyway). So Helluva Boss episodes shifting to do episodes that play a lot nicer than they did in the first season, and even the first few episodes of this season... Kinda seems like they're testing the waters with the humour here to know what they can get away with when Hasbin goes up and they need more material. It's not the first franchise to do that, and its not an awful practice in theory.
But why its noticable is because Hasbin Hotel is nice characters trying to rehabilitate damned souls and sinners and whatever that got sent to Hell. Helluva Boss, right out the gate, was doing the exact opposite and practically encouraging it, where the Imps are getting hired by damned souls to Earth and kill whoever wronged them in whatever form to get them sent to Hell to begin with. And it's a bit telling when we haven't actually seen the Imps actually do their job for several episodes now.
I still like it for its fast animation and quick-fire humour, I mean I'm not really into excessive swearing, but Bliz's actors delivery on them is hilarious a lot of the time. But the overall narrative of the series, to me, seems like its on a steady decline from what it started with.
To be fair, season 2 was written before season 1. Season 1 is just to establish characters and to test how it would do with everyone. Season 2 was always written this way. The pilot isn't canon, that was written YEARS ago and most didn't like it unless they liked that offensive dark humor. Ever since scrapping it from canon, this show has always been about Blitz and the relationships around him. WE saw the first sign of this in episode 2, Loo Loo Land. So nothing was ruined or retconned. People are just mad that their headcanons aren't real.

Do still think its an odd tone for a show to take, and if S2 was written first, then I'm a little confused as to why they'd write S1 the way they did, cause that certainly embraces more 'Hellish' aspects.
