I passed my driving test on my first go. My instructor thinks the credit goes to him(I was basically paying the chap to use his car to practice, that's all the good he did me), but all the credit really goes to you. Thank you for these videos. Thank you!!!
This entire channel is exactly what "evergreen content" is.....no matter how many years go by somone will always be able to learn from this as if we were on a zoom call. Amazing dedication.
I think this is the best 45 degree parking tutorial in RUclips. I failed my first practical driving test because I could not do a proper 45 degree reverse parking. The techniques I learned from the driving school were more of guided drills than lessons. This tutorial clarified a lot of concepts and reference points for me. After the second take, I now passed the practical driving test and have a driver's license. My parking is not that perfect yet, so I will keep practicing and keep on coming back to this video until I am near perfect at it. Thanks!
I passed yesterday, and I would like to thank you for this video. Everything I know about driving started with me clicking on this video. Driving has never been this accessible if not for this channel.
I'm brazilian and I passed on my driving test and learned how to drive because of you. I spent a month or so without even practicing due to an injury I've suffered. I knew I had to keep practicing even so, so I created a playlist with your videos. As soon as I came back I had huge improvement, which surprised my instrutor. thank you!
I'm from Malaysia and even though I've managed to do reverse bay park successfully a few times when I got my own car, for some reasons I failed to do so recently. But thanks to your video I know exactly what my mistake is, I always try to back up whenever the first corner of the parking bay appears in the side mirrors. I really appreciate your efforts for making these videos. Thanks!
I have just passed my driving test first time, by only by using this reversing method and by going through all the other helpful videos. My driving inspector said that I was a good driver, and I replied that all the credit goes to Conquer Driving. Thanks a million for your insight and easy way of explaining how to.👍
SO happy to finally be able to say I PASSED! I watched many RUclips videos but this channel is the only one I stuck to. nobody else can explain like Richard. This was my second test and I passed with 1 minor! I am such a better driver than I was when I took my first test. I was a nervous wreck both times but the second time I was more confident and I knew I was a good driver I just had to show it. Thank you Richard, I’ll continue to watch these videos as they’re invaluable!
What helped me massively after I passed was those small circular blind spot mirrors you stick onto your wing mirrors. It allows me to see my rear tyres making parking a lot easier! 😁
I have learnt & actually improved on my driving skills only by watching your videos which was a straight 80% improvement within a day! Even my instructor was surprised and disappointed at the same time i noticed! 22 lessons with no progression at all. I wish i had thought of watching videos before starting instead of wasting 38 (22+16 before the pendamic) lessons in total so far =waste of time +money+energy and lacking confidence +disappointments thinking i was slow or dumb ! Today I actually told my instructor to sod off because i realised he was not helping me at all! Thanks to you! 🙌
Thanks a mil for your videos. I an from Ireland and passed my test in first attempt. Really appreciate the time and detail of your videos. You really understand the perspective of a newbie driver and provide subtle details that really help new drivers like myself to gain confidence. God bless you.
This was explained so well thank you i passed my test recently but using the 90 degree method which just isnt practical in real life the reference points you explained have made loads of sense I'm going to try this cheers!
So glad I found this video. My test is rapidly approaching and reverse bay parking is the one manovere I don’t feel at all confident with. Will be watching this everyday till my test x
After watching several videos on reverse bay parking, this one by far and away explained it in the most understandable way and gave me some really helpful makers to use!!!
I wish I could press the like button twice, I have been afraid of driving and was so worried that I won't be able to ever reverse park with precision. This video has helped so much, I used these concepts and can easily reverse park now. Thank you so much :-)
I have already passed my test but in the Irish driving test you don’t learn how to do this. This video was a big help and I’m confident parking even in a busy car park now, thanks very much for the video, the best instructor on RUclips
Thank you❤ Looking the mirror to recognize which direction the driver should turn the wheel is useful for me. Your lessons and explainations are always helpful.🌹
This method is more practical in real life situations, however, the instructors teach the 3 line method ( 90 degree) just for the sake of getting the test passed.... what to say, we learn so many things after passing the test to deal with the real life scenarios...thank you for the vedio...so understandable ..for new drivers like me....continue your good work..
This was pretty simple to follow, I'm going to try this out eventually because reverse parking is easier to get out of a parking space than forward bay parking.
@@ConquerDriving I passed! I’m pretty confident that this is not only down to my instructor but your videos as well, by far thee best online instructor I have watched, so thank you for all that you do and continue to be such an amazing teacher!!
I have my first test on the 6th and I am sure I will pass as I can do 99% of driving absolutely fine. I have my own car and often have to parallel park in very small spaces. Just the one manoeuvre I beg I don't get is reverse bay park as thats one I am not 100% there yet. I get it every time but I am usually almost on the line if I don't go out and in again. This is super useful thank you!
Thank you so much this video helped me a lot to understand what to do or what to see. This is an truly amazing video. Even when you were showing the demonstration with your hand was a great idea. Thank you so much.
I wish my driving instructor broke procedures down into a specific set of clear steps. It's so much easier to learn this way. Your videos are so helpful. Thanks!
Thanks for doing this video!! I've watched so many other ones but still couldn't get my car parked with the 45 degrees method, just tried your way today and it worked perfectly!! Very much appreciated and please keep it up!

Thank you so much for this video! I felt so useless at parking but it turns out the 90 degree method that I was being taught just isn't for me. This parking technique was much easier for me to understand and now I feel super confident at parking!
Just want to say thank you for this. I've already passed my driving test few months back but I don't like reference point method. Will definitely try your approach as it does look practical as compared to reference point. Thanks for this explanation as your previous video made me confused. Now these 5 steps are understandable👍.
Thank you. The only thing I do differently is that I encourage getting the front wheels straight before the learner finishes the forwards 45° phase. It's nothing to do with dry-steering: it's so that its immediately obvious if they've steered the wrong way when beginning the reverse phase. Good to see you making good use of Corona-Time 😂
Thank you for all these! My lessons have been cancelled since a few weeks now (rightly so) and I’ve been worried about forgetting all that I’ve learnt.

I had my first lesson doing this parking in a bay. I struggle with it. My instructor is teaching me a way of being about 3 bays away. not looking in the mirrors so much but reversing and once a bay in line with point alone the car I've to quickly turn the wheel full lock and go into the bay and when reversing into the bay as the car is in line with the opposite bay I've to straighten the wheels up and reverse into it. But I don't feel I can judge anything because I don't really see much. I really love your method as I am a visual learner..
Thank you. Unfortunately the method you are learning will only help you get through the test, it won't help you reverse all cars. I really don't like that method for that reason.

Richard, with your hands on the wheel, line up a line with your elbow, then apply full lock in the direction of the line, reverse. You’ll end up in a space. Two steps. Not a better way, but an alternative.
Interesting video but this is way more complicated than I how I was taught. I was told to find the space I want, drive three spaces ahead, full lock to the left, observation throughout obviously 😉 , then reverse back until I could see the line for the space in my right mirror then use observation to keep myself in line. There may have been more too it but this is how I remember being taught. Good video though xx
I'm glad you mentioned the little stick for adjusting mirrors, that's what i have and didn't like the idea of leaning over an examiner to try and adjust them 😂
Love it! Simple and easy to understand. Could you post a tutorial for reverse parking on a steep home carport? Without any lines on the sides, just wall. 😁
great video mate but the examiners make it harder now. The examiners ask to turn left and reverse back (to the right) into the bay when they come back from town (at the end of test. In that case you won’t be able to use a reference point I’m afraid
This is for me to remember: 1- Put your body in the space you want (in the middle of the bay) 2- Lower the mirror so you can see near the floor/bay lines 3- Turn all the way to the right or left until the bay is behind you. (The second space is the one you are aiming for and it shpuld be 10 percent of what you are aiming for) 4- put on reverse and put the steering to straight and reverse until you are close to the space 5- Turn the wheel back to the left or right (same way as before ) to straighten up and you can tell when the line is in lime with the car (is straight) 6- reverse back
Richard, dear, there's one problem with this method. Many parking bays do not have that closing white line against which you are aligning your handle. What then? CAn you make this video or a short version of this for that type of bay? Where there are just two parallel lines but not that closing perpendicular line.
I passed my driving test on my first go. My instructor thinks the credit goes to him(I was basically paying the chap to use his car to practice, that's all the good he did me), but all the credit really goes to you. Thank you for these videos. Thank you!!!

1- Put your body in the space you want (in the middle of the bay)
2- Lower the mirror so you can see near the floor/bay lines
3- Turn all the way to the right or left until the bay is behind you. (The second space is the one you are aiming for and it shpuld be 10 percent of what you are aiming for)
4- put on reverse and put the steering to straight and reverse until you are close to the space
5- Turn the wheel back to the left or right (same way as before ) to straighten up and you can tell when the line is in lime with the car (is straight)
6- reverse back
Brilliantly explained .
Thank you very much for your videos, it's extremely helpful!!!
So difficult 😢
Richard, dear, there's one problem with this method. Many parking bays do not have that closing white line against which you are aligning your handle. What then? CAn you make this video or a short version of this for that type of bay? Where there are just two parallel lines but not that closing perpendicular line.
Excellent tutorial, thank you 🙏
This is the video I've been looking for!!!Thank you !
Been reverse parking for 30 years, much prefer that method. Well done all who have passed and stay safe 👍
Thank you! I passed last year but my instructor refused to teach me how to reverse park so I’ve just avoided it 😂
