just bought a 2015 charger R/T its my second one, I had 2010 and loved it.. I fell in love with them when they came back in 2006. my daddy had a 69 charger and drove that car until he couldn't drive it no more. I guess you could say I grew up in a charger..
Just got the RT Scat Pack two weeks ago, and it's certainly I think the most cost-effective way to get a great Charger. For under $50k, you get the same engine and tranny as the SRT that puts you on top of the street food chain immediately. And Dodge puts a lot of good value tech inside that functions very well, and the interior is far from an embarrassment. I'm VERY happy with the car.
note i said "for under $50k". i got a fully loaded Scat Pack with everything except for the black roof. sticker was about $48k. i leased it and the lease options were considerably better than any stripped SRT in the area. trust me, i shopped around. but its also worth noting the $39995 MSRP doesnt even include destination; in other words, youll never find a Scat Pack for under $40k.
P.S. The Super Track Pack is only in the R/T Road & Track, or higher, trim level. You should maybe add that to the title. :) I've been shopping Chargers and go familiar with the trims.
That Road & Track trim level is the best way to go in my opinion. I wanted only an SRT until I drove a 2015 Charger RT Road & Track. Bought it after the test drive, it's perfect.
Sad to say Brian, but it still screams rental car in base trim lol...whenever I see a base model Charger roll by it signals somebody popped for "premium" at the rental counter lol -Former Enterprise Agent ;)
Good review but the price is off... You didn't mention the $3k Road & Track pack that this car obviously comes with. That particular car comes in over $40k easy. Might as well get a Scat Pack.
No 0-60 time included in this? Straight line acceleration is pretty much the sole purpose of this car.. Weird that you skipped that tidbit on this one.
WarmSoftKitty You're kidding, right? Dodge is in no way a prestige brand, that job belongs to Chrysler. No one is cross-shopping an M5 or RS6 with a Charger. A 300 has more of a case, but it's still a bit of a longshot.
+electrictroy2010 Of course not. But an SRT does those jobs no differently than a Hellcat. You pay the 70 grand for the straight-line power this specific trim has, not because it's a better commuter than the others.
My 2007 charger has the same horse power. In 8 years dodge hasn't even bumped the HP. That disappoints me a little, especially considering the huge displacement of that V8. Thoughts on this anyone?
mike398100 Apparently, to them, the RT's customer base doesnt really need more horsepower, and that any customer that does, can just go get themselves a hellcat.
I'm pretty sure any year below 2010 is about 340hp and the 2010 and up are now 370 or 375hp. They actually did make some changes. My 2013 smokes my friends 2006 RT by a long shot.
Bum the hp for a lower gas mileage. I'll rather have better gas mileage. This is not the 1900s anymore when guys ram their engine to impress people. A ton of guys are acting like men now.
How can you not see the direct ques from the late 60's Charger? Are you blind? I mean, yeah it's not an exact duplicate, but you have the grille and headlights, which are designed to slightly resemble the 1968 style, the coke bottle design of the overall cars body. The side door scallops, trunk lip, retro revival of the full width tail light.
Who wants to buy a 2013 dodge charger hemi 5.7 engine.. has 23,000 miles on it and that's it runs perfect no damage done just looking to putting a custom big block under my hood
larkyleroy You mean to tell me the engineers who designed this vehicle cannot make it direct injection? Of course they could. Don't need it? Its not a necessity but it does have its benefits.
One of my favorite purchases - these hemi's are so much fun. Nice review
R/T Life they are truly a lot of fun and I enjoy the heck out of my 2016 RT Road and Track I believe it's a great purchase
I let out a sigh of relief when I heard Cooley's voice at the beginning of the video.
I felt the same way, when I seen his reflection in the mirror I was relieved
I always stay nervous opening a CNET On Cars video until I hear Brian Cooley say "let's check the tech". He's my favorite car reviewer.

this guy needs his own channel
Best car in Earth

50k? I thought it had an msrp of 39990? Or did you have some add ons? At 50 k you might as well jump to the SRT 392 .

joner800 Mine cost me 38000 with rebates and discounts. Of course the only option I had were Navigation and driver confidence group.
My rt didn't come with super track pack ?
Fiat has really turned Dodge around. Very impressive.
2018 anyone? because I want that car I actually love it
I have a 1997 chevy Tahoe should i upgrade to this?

Yes Cooley? YES WATCH!
What about the 700hp one?
Its a monster
Thats a Hellcat

My dream car 💔
Please Do a Cartech of the hellcat version of the charger.
It's the same tech
I get a 2017 Charger RT in two weeks! So excited!!!!! :D
G Tech20 how is it
Good review but the price is off... You didn't mention the $3k Road & Track pack that this car obviously comes with. That particular car comes in over $40k easy. Might as well get a Scat Pack.
Where's the fiat badge?
It's not a fiat
Dukiny Gaming Owned by FIAT
It's funny, trolls like you don't show up under Ferrari car reviews. Which is also owned by Fiat.
so what gonna happen when u put ur steering on sport mode?
Love my 17rt charger it's so fast
I'll stick with my 2011 one. I think it had a much better grill and more elevated hood making it feel bigger.

+Drew Furney The SOLE purpose? So you just do quarter-mile races, and then stick it in the garage? No driving to work, or cruising the road?
+electrictroy2010 Of course not. But an SRT does those jobs no differently than a Hellcat. You pay the 70 grand for the straight-line power this specific trim has, not because it's a better commuter than the others.
Fully agree!
+WarmSoftKitty So you're saying a car with over 700 horsepower is overpriced at $65,000. This amuses me.
Lmaoo marijuana is definitely legal here! Thanks for the shot out! 🤣😂🤣

mike398100 Dodge revised their transmission and drivetrain significantly. Its a European car internally and American exteriorly.
I agree with the other guy, if you want more hp, the srt or srt hellcat are available.

5 lt engine? Is it truck?
Tell that to the 16.4 litre W16 on the Bugatti
WuWei Xu The 16.4 in Bugatti stands for the ammount of cylinders (16) and the turbos (4). The engine itself is 8 liters.
idh0530 Right, confused myself there.
new r/t or ss hard to choose
🤔 rt

Going for test drive this weekend
Recently test drove one and fell in love. Can't wait to get it
The headlights are unique. Tail lights not so much.
Expensive luxury car.
Did he say...he had to ask for the power from the car and wants a snappier throttle. Come on man!
Thats my car😍
Who wants to buy a 2013 dodge charger hemi 5.7 engine.. has 23,000 miles on it and that's it runs perfect no damage done just looking to putting a custom big block under my hood
Same exact car as mines
I want this same ond on god
Lol I don't see it, dodge is definitely on something.
The base charger looks AWFUL! Very plan, very rental car ish! It's a damn shame!
DoubleD 613 Very few cars look good at their base trim. It's kind of like seeing a model without makeup and Photoshop.
Dodge Charger Retweet
Even in this mid trim this car looks plain
hahahh like the weed reference
R/t are too heavy and slow compared to older cars.
Wishing that engine had direct injection and overhead cams would probably be a better engine to be honest :)
Agreed, at least do direct injection.
Hemis cant be direct injected. dont need it.
larkyleroy You mean to tell me the engineers who designed this vehicle cannot make it direct injection? Of course they could. Don't need it? Its not a necessity but it does have its benefits.
Cooley. Also, first comment. Suck it.
