I am a child of an addict. My grandmother raised me and my sister. I thank God for my grandmother and other women like her. They are the angels on earth saving us kids. My grandmother saved my life. I am now 38 years old and she is still my best friend. Whenever I have free time I spend it with her. I am the women I am today because of her. This is truly an epidemic. Grandparents should not be raising their grandkids. Your poem tired eyes hit me so hard Chanda. Is there a way we can donate or help this amazing woman or others like her? Thank you for all you do Chanda. You are a gift from God. Much love and respect.

I struggled with addiction for many years and I even had a judge tell me i was going to die from my addiction. I am no longer shooting up heroin or fentanyl, and I am free of those drugs with the help of MAT drug methadone. I have legitimate pain, from a accident when I was ran over while attempting to cross the street while walking. Never give up on her, because she is not a lost cause. She is suffering from the disease of addiction and I hope that she finds the strength to beat her addiction. It's okay to receive help. Don't worry about accepting help from others when you need it. Things are hard these days. I am so sorry that you lost your daughter and I pray that your granddaughter will find the strength to get sober for Justin. He deserves to have his family with him, and I just hope that she will wake up and realize that fact. Blessings to you and Justin for a better year this year. I am praying for your family. ❤

May God bless your Aunt Bonnie 🙏 ❤️ I swear she reminds me so much of my grandma who is raising her two grandsons,my mom helps her. They raise my sister's two boys. My sister is an addict and is bipolar. I hated her for a long time for putting my mom and nana through so much. With my Nana's SS and my mom income they live very poor barely making ends meet. It breaks my heart to see them struggle, I don't live near them to help like I want to. No matter what though, like your Aunt Bonnie, they praise God and remain positive. Thank you Chanda for bringing awareness to grandparents in this situation. I pray God bless you and makes all your dreams come true. We need more entertainers to be true to their values and use their platform for good causes. If you start a donation for Aunt Bonnie please let us know.
P.S I hate common core math too lol

Aunt Bonnie you are God sent❤ I am sad for Justin but I am so grateful he has you❤🥰 Drugs just are so bad and so sad that people get so addicted, but you know how that is, Chanda is living proof that you someone can get clean and have an amazing life, thank you Chanda for doing what you're doing, bringing awareness of such sad situations. I praise all grandparents (and family members who step up) who step up to take care of their grand babies. May God Bless you both tremendously🙏❤🙏❤

What an inspiration Aunt Bonnie is! I am raising my son's 16 year old son and my daughter's 20 month old daughter. I've had my grandson with me since before he was released from the hospital. I took guardianship of my granddaughter three months ago. I could not imagine either of them in state custody. My son is in jail and my daughter is nodded out in her room. I let her come home to get cleaned up. She's going to rehab tonight and this time it's HER idea. I pray it works bc I'm very well aware that an addict cannot get clean because other folks want them to.
There needs to be more support for those of us who have given up our golden years to save these children.
Yes, Chanda, I've got those Tired Eyes.
    Ty for what you're doing.♥️

We have to keep a positive attitude especially when raising grandchildren. They need to see us as positive as we can be. God will always provide.
I have been raising my granddaughter since she came out of the hospital. Yes it’s hard ambit who would these kids have if it weren’t for family? I can’t imagine having let her go into state custody and not knowing if she alright, safe, taken care of or whatever….My son is her father and has not been a part of her life in over two years. Her biological Mom hasn’t came to see her since before she turned 1 year old. My heart breaks for my sweet girl. As she asks me every night before bed, what’s going to happen to me if you or Papa die? My answer is always the same, You will go live with Nanny and the girls and she will take care of You. She’s NOT satisfied with my answer to her question. Because she continues to ask 😢😢😢
We live in Louisiana. I have filed support enforcement charges on my son and here we are 2 years and 8 months later and still NOT a dime.
I am a Christian and I believe that God will provide for us and always will protect us from evil.
    Amen 🙏
God Bless You Ms. Bonnie 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️

Those teenage boys eat too! I have a 13 yr old boy myself and my God, they are endless pits. My prayers to great-grandma & Justin. 💙💜

My heart goes out to Miss Bonnie, as a grandmother that has been raising my 6 year old grandson since he was born, it’s hard. These are the years we should be slowing down and enjoying life without raising kids. It’s physically hard but the emotional things are so hard. You are hurting for your child that’s putting everything before her child and it hurts so much to see my grand baby try to deal with everything. We just show them all the love we have for them and try to teach them the things that matter the most in life.

    Wow
I loss my parents and step parents to things stemming from addiction. 1st my stepmother got HIV and then AIDS and passed away, my Mom next from domestic violence/murdered, then he overdosed and killed by my father, then my father killed himself on thanksgiving 04. My Gramma and Papa took care of me n my older sister till I was 10yrs old and I went into my 1st fostercare and then my next at 15yrs old and they still are my family and I am with them alot. I'm older now and I took my younger sisters outta fostercare but already had my other youngest sister since she was a infant and now my older sister and I and my younger sisters are addicts and 1 is in rehab rt now🙏🏻 the other just won't go and we have all 7 of their kids. They have no grandparents on our side but they have the father's Moms . My sister's husband killed himself in 2011 and his step mom take 2 of my nieces and nephews and my older sister has the other 5 in their home. I have been taking in my younger sisters since 2014 trying to get them right. It's a generation curse. I was put on drugs and alcohol by my father at 8yrs old. I've been clean, but it's hard bc I have had them in my home and they destroyed my houses and even my fostermoms house. It's so hard, and my father was arrested when I was 10 yrs old bc my best friend told the cops what he did to us and he walked bc he was a huge war hero and he was very scary. God is who gets us through. I have set boun6for my younger sisters bc I can't be near that stuff bc then I will relapse and I am to old and dnt wanna kill myself bc I am loving them to death. I adopted 3 children and have 3 stepchildren and my late wife Jessica passed away on December 2nd 2018 from a relapse and now have 6 gkids and it just hit our 15yrs of marriage anniversary rt now actually . October 24th 2007. I miss her so much but I knew it was going to take 1 of us if not both. I'm doing really good and I just pray that they will get rt bc kids love them. They know they can't ever go back to living w them but we let them see them and kids are happy and thriving. They know that they are sick and on drugs. All we can do is give it to God!! I have my son in AZ bc I sent him there to finish high school in 09 and he hooked up w this for lk and she knew he was moving back to PA and she put holes in the condom ,she admitted it!! I lost my son bc of this, he hated her for it but wanted to be a good father and ended up on drugs and drinking everyday. His biological mother moved out there and started doing meth w him. I have not heard anything from him in 2yrs.
I had to mourn him. My daughter is awesome and has her own tattooing business and is very successful!! My stepkids all are doing well, and I wish my wife cld have held on bc she wld love being a Gramma. God bless this Great great Gramma bc I am 48 now and it's hard taking care of 7 nieces n nephews and 6 different personalities for kids. But, they all are adults. The government shld be helping Bonnie but if your blood they don't give ANYTHING but will give fostercare checks. It's like they want the families to fail. I felt tf bad when she said she was gonna be a taker, she is the one who is a giver. She suffered terrible losses and I bet Justin keeps her going bc if she didn't have him she wldnt be busy and in a big depression from losing her husband and daughter. God bless her heart and he will come through for those in need!! I admire sooo many ppl who take care of children that are not theirs. I did that bc I was taking in by thesefamilies and friends growing up and my Gramma n Papa most of all. I went through hell and once my father killed himself it was a relief bc I tried saving my Mom and had my daughter, my little sisters and sons and if wasn't easy. My stepkids were 4,6,7 when I met them and raised them and they are 21,23,24 now. God is Good and this is the saddest part of life!! I was called January 9th to go to this church by God after praying for him to please show me what this curse on my family was, it was the demon leviathen, he is right up there with satan. Ppl don't get that demons are through out the entire Bible but they dnt teach that in church. He is in the book of Job actually and I fought him in the spirit realm for 2wks and I think he is gone now!! Pray is very important! God bless you C.L. for doing this,bc I don't know a family that's not touched by addiction 💙🙏🏻✝️♥️

The government help lol around here people have kids just to live off them so god bless you and something always gives bc your a good person and you deserve it but idk where you live but maybe think about moving to a better state that gives better care like Massachusetts or is taxachussetts but still we get great food stamps like 300 a month and i don't have kids but we got a kid credit and whoever had kids got lots of money
