This is such a well crafted 70's pop song that I can't help but love it. It's got a bit of everything. Catchy hook, a little funkiness, and I like how the guy delivers the vocals.
When I hear this song it's like I'm listening to it on a car radio while on the freeway. We had camped out for a weekend in point Reyes California and were on our way back to Sacramento when I heard this song on the car radio. It was during the summer of 1977
I was 12 when this song came out. We all loved it. I’m from Tennessee. I always thought the chorus said…’ Undercover Angel, Midnight Tennessee…🤷♂️🤣 I thought that all the way up till I was in the Army in 1987, then my buddies thought I was crazy!! 🤣🤣 Funny how when you get misheard lyrics in your head, it never changes….. I still say Midnight Tennessee…
You both make me laugh and smile so much!!!😂....Wrong answer BJ when Asia asked you if you thought she was an undercover angel when you first met her😂😂....your answer should have been:No,you weren't undercover in my eyes,I KNEW you were an angel!!
I'm so glad I finally got you to react to this, but I think you and many others missed what the song is really about. I did too at 13, when my girlfriends and I were loudly singing along to it at the public pool and everywhere and had no idea, lol. It is about a young boy "discovering "himself", when in bed alone at night "under the covers" (you know😁) and how that prepared for what to expect when he was in an actual relationship with a girl: As in the lyrics - "You made me know that there's a love for me, somewhere out there" AND "Now go find the right one, love her in bed, when you look into her eyes you'll see me again" AND "Underneath the covers the answer lies". Then the course changes from saying "I said what?" TO "She said what?". You should both listen to it again 🤣🤣
Like Jackson Browne's "Looks Like Its Me And You Again Tonight, Rosie" You wear my ring, when I turn out the lights, I got to hand it to me; looks like. . .
@@timgeary4550 OMG, I love Jackson Browne -- I had to listen to Rosie again just now. I had never put that together before, but it's not of his songs I've heard more than a few time either. 🤣. Thanks for the heads up; no pun intended 😂
BJ puttin Asia on Blast for the Hall Monitor then keeps diggin deeper you were more like an "ANGEL" too late bud hope the dog moves over and shares some covers LOL
Y'all Craaazy, Bonnie and Clyde 💯🤣🤣🤣❤️👍 the look on Asia face at BJ, and he is just bopping to Alan O'Day's 77 hit. Is priceless. Hilarious and Asia playing harder to get telling her Mom, not to let him in. Asia ,do I see a little misdirection , trickster, or maybe Sneaky Shananagans go on, .😆😆❤️🤣. So which one of you 🤔 the Undercover 😇., Hmm. Thanks for the Reaction.😊😊 And, by the way , 1976. As Charlie Angel's the TV Show not the movie 🍿🎥. The Tagline to Arron Spelling Charlie Angel's, was Sex Pure and Simple, or Jiggly TV, you guys imagination can fill in the rest, Undercover Angel by Day was inspired by the show no bet.
Sorry to disappoint the fans out there but Alan O'Day confirmed that this song was not about masturbation. It was constructed in a way to make it a hit record. I'm pretty sure at the very least, it pertained to a nocturnal fantasy that left the boy with something to ponder about when he woke up in the morning.
Love this song! It gives me summer vibes
One of the best songs ever made about doing the deed at bedtime when you're home alone hahaha
A nice one-hit wonder!
edit- Asia & BJ, Alan co-wrote the Righteous Brothers' hit "Rock and Roll Heaven" and wrote Helen’s Reddy’s hit "Angie Baby"!!
I was 2 when this song first came out so i did not remember it till later but i do love this song

I also loved this song when I was a little girl and would sing along when it played on the radio. I had no idea what “make sweet love to me” meant lol
im late in seeing this but im glad you chose this fun song. brings back so many memories. two thumbs up
This song has some undercover funk in the beat!! 🤎🤎 Irresistible.
I haven’t heard this song in moons! Love it!😂😂❤❤
61 now and 16 when this song was released
Pure seventies. Loved it when it came out. My undercover angel and I will be together 39 years in June. Hilarious and great reaction guys!
From 1977, no doubt inspired by "Charlie's Angels," the TV show that began in 1976. The "angels" in the detective agency were always undercover.

This song dominated the air waves in the summer of '77.

I thought Midnight Tennessee too. Many folks did back in the day.
Aahhh the groovy 70s. "She said whoa?". Funky. Recalls a much simpler time, young life.
Oh, a blast from the past!
Asia: "a little R&B kinda sound to it". 💯💯 2 words (to start):
BILLY PRESTON!!

🙏💞
Hey BJ .. I have a shovel you can borrow ! 🤣🤣🤣 ... Hilarious reaction !👍👍
I'd always felt that this was a 70's re imagining of the 60's song "The rain The park and other things " by The Cowsills.
One of those corny, but cool songs from the 70's!
Wrong answer, BJ.... Asia IS your ANGEL!!!!!!

Now, if you haven't already, you should do the song Angel in your arms by Hot. It's from the same era, my childhood.
Good reaction
