I never understood how the charge buster is overpowered in 4 when nobody complains about it in 5. 5's charge buster is way bigger and kills most enemies in one hit. In 4 is smaller and does less damage

I think the Robot Masters from MegaMan10 were intended to look stupid, they all look so goofy and also have fun trivias. I guess it was a break from MegaMan9, they had put SO much effort into those RMs, the result is that they are as memorable as the RMs from the first 3 games.
(FUN FACT: Tornado Man, Splash Woman and possibly Magma Man are throwbacks to MegaManZero.)

With a bit of practice these games are all manageable. A good point to begin, difficulty wise, is MM2 (Normal difficulty and Metal Blade is broken), MM5 (it is really generous with extra lives and almost all of the robot masters have an exploitable AI) and MM6 (the new rush jet makes platforming easy)

  • @42k78
    @42k78 Год назад +3

Cool video. Only I wouldn't say the Crash boss battle in MM2 wasn't programmed right just because you can run out of ammo. I always thought the game was teaching you to conserve your ammo and to think about every weapon you use; something that the other games don't do enough of. MM5 is fun and probably the easiest one. MM6 is also fun but when do you really need any of your weapons in either of those? I just use the Buster the whole way through with no problems maybe besides one use of Tomahawk's weapon (And the "rush" items). In MM2, personally, I need Crash, Wood, Air and a couple extra items. Oh and Bubble for the boss. The same with MM3. If you die while on the Rush Jet before you refill it, you're screwed unless you kill yourself. I thought they did this on purpose to make the games tough. I do have to use my brain more for MM2 and MM3 where as 5 and 6 I can just rush through. 4 is my least fav. Haha. I don't like a lot of little things like how long each boss takes to do their taunt and get health, when you first get to them. The Buster takes forever to charge and doesn't have a wide hit radius. The music is sort of weak compared to the others. It's still a fun game, I just thought it was the most awkward but after seeing this, I'll play through it again and see if my mind changes.

I respect this list a lot. Leaves the nostalgia on the table. I like 3 and 4 best but 3 is purely from nostalgia because it was the first one I beat as a kid and by far the most time I spent playing. 4 and 5 were a tie for second.
2 is great but I feel like it tops folks lists because of nostalgia, in a lot of cases.

Nice list, dude! Glad to see Mega Man 9 get so much love! I've been playing Mega Man games since 1989, and still pop any given title in the core series to this day. In fact, I am currently in the middle of my first attempt at beating Mega Man 8 on my Legacy Collection 2 for Switch, and am also on the last stage of Mega Man 9 for what will be my first completion of that as well. Never had 8 on the PS1, but I did purchase 9 for my Wii when it came out, but never got into it. Mega Man 4 is also one of my tops! Music, levels, bosses, and weapons are very well-rounded! 2 and 3 were the first ones I owned as a kid, getting 3 for my birthday in April 1991 after renting it many times the months after its release. 2 I got from a video store selling its NES games in junior high, but had rented it dozens of times from its release. Both great games, but later ones improved on them.
I also want to push back on your pick of Wily 1 theme from Mega Man 9 beating Wily 1 from Mega Man 2! I think "We Are The Robots", the Wily 2 theme from 9, is better than the first stage!

in order from best to worst:
    1. mega man 7. amazing music, amazing graphics, everything about it is amazing
    2. mega man 4. the highlight of the nes games, fixed everything wrong with 3. it is extremely close to 7 in terms of how much i like it.
    3. mega man 10. fun level design, but its main reason for being this high is the inclusion of the multiple playable characters and difficulty levels
    4. mega man 11. beautiful game, fun gameplay, solid soundtrack, wish it included more classic characters.
    5. mega man 3. i love the music and the concept of the doc robots, it would have been a bit higher if it didnt have the rush jet section
    6. mega man 6. i dont remember this one too well but i know i really enjoyed it. rush adaptor was great
    7. mega man 9. one of the hardest in the series. i wish we had at least the slide in it. agreed on flash in the dark being one of the best songs, i adore it
    8. mega man 2. my first and most played mega man game. i love it, but in gameplay the other games just outdo it.
    9. mega man 5. i honestly barely remember it so i wasnt sure where to place it on this list. i know i liked it a lot, i can remember i really liked the looks of star mans stage. my ranking on this one might change when i play it again.
    10. mega man 1. i honestly really like this one, but it has some bullshit parts, and is way too slippery. its my second most played mega man game, but as much as i enjoy it i have to rank it lower for gameplay reasons. elec man stage song is amazing too
    11. mega man 8. too many new gimmicks. art is amazing and it has some good music but my god i hate those rush shooter parts. get rid of the rush shooter parts, and make the snowboarding a lot shorter (especially on wily 1 my god) and it would be one of the best megaman games imo. the voice acting was awful but it was to a funny degree which made it still charming and enjoyable.
    12. mega man and bass. i havent beaten this one so its not gonna be ranked higher. so farthe music is great and the art is phenomenal but it feels unbalanced.
overall id recommend almost all of these games to people looking for a challenge, it's an amazing game series (except for the rush shooter parts. those were lame)

I have yet to play 8, 9 and 11 and I have yet to complete 7, but I definitely prefer some of the newer games over the first three. So sue me.
While not the best one, I have a bit of a soft spot for 5's OST. I especially love the Napalm Man, Stone Man and Dark Man stage themes. Speaking of music, I do agree there's several music tracks better than MM2's Wily Stage 1 theme (though it's not a bad music track either). I really love MM10's Wily Stage 1 theme a lot. I also heard MM9's in Smash Ultimate (they used the original one instead of a remix) and I do agree it's amazing.

Nice list overall, but your criticisms of 10 are not very fair to the game. 10’s weapons while it has some bad ones like thunder wool and commando bomb, has a lot of really good ones too. Water shield is also nowhere near the worst shield weapon in the series, that would be plant barrier. The bosses in my opinion are great. Solar Man, Nitro Man, Sheep Man all have fun fights. The main thing I disagree with you on though is your implication that 10 isn’t built around not being able to slide or charge, could not disagree more. 10’s level design is different from 9’s in the sense that it’s more out there and more things happen where as 9 has simple but very challenging obstacles. 10 wants your reaction to be on point, so sliding isn’t an option.

"Discovered" Megaman this year. As of this past week ive conquered every mainline MM game (save for Bass) and X12345 and 8.

All the Mega Man 10 Weapons.
*Commando Missile:* You can control it and it does great damage(if it hits the ground)
*Water Shield:* Spawns 8 Projectiles around you. Each Projectile counts takes a seperate hit and all of them deal good damage.
*Chill Spike:* Can freeze enemies and it can generate a road of spikes.
*Solar Blaze:* A Shrapnel Shot, which deals a Ton of Damage.
*Thunder Wool:* It does great Damage, but why does the Cloud disappear after it hits an Enemy? And why does it use so much Weapon Energy?
*Wheel Cutter:* If you want to have fun, here you go.
*Rebound Striker:* It bounces around and each Bounce makes it stronger. The Level Design also helps it.
*Triple Blade:* Shoots 3 Blades(angle depends on if you are in the air), that deal good damage to.
*Mirror Buster:* Just take an Enemy's Shot and make it into your own.
*Screw Crusher:* Very fun but also very weak. At least it has a lot of Weapon Energy.
*Ballade Cracker:* Metal Blade done right! The Ballade Cracker is balanced.

Yeah though why does it do shit damage when you hit an enemy with it?
      Its a bomb.
You hit an enemy in the face and it just tickles it
The ice weapon in 1 is better as the range is crap in 10
      Sheep man's weapon sucks ass
And the rebound striker usually hits enemies with its weakest damage output so one of its feature is usually ignored

My list (keep in mind I haven't play MM 11 yet): keep in mind I absolutely adore them all except MM and MM & Bass...
11- Mega Man ( primitive and unpolished compared to the rest)
10- MM & Bass (really unbalanced difficulty)
9- MM 8 (ambitious but unfocused stages, more personality for the robot masters is a great idea)
    8- MM 2 (poor weapon/boss balance, e-tank is a great addition)
7- MM 3 (feel more like a unfinished 2.5 than a real 3, "everything but the kitchen sink" approach... the slide is a marvelous addition)
6- MM 6 (feel a little bland and derivitive after the other 5 NES games... branching paths are a nice touch but have a negligeable impact on gameplay... the weapon equalizer is really useful)
5- MM 5 (some great stages gimmicks like gravity man, op blaster is a bit broken but you can easily decide not to abuse it, oozes charm)
4- MM 7 (feel like a refined Game Boy MM... we should have more games in this style...)
3- MM 4 (my favorite on the NES, slighty darker atmosphere, ALL the stages are fun/memorable, solid weapons selection, the charge blaster is an excellent addition)
2- MM 10 (a more enemy-based focused game, it grows on you on multiple playtrough)
1- MM 9 (everything MM2 whish it could be, great design, made me fall in love with the series all over again)
I would also consider MMV on the gameboy as a essential part of a classic MM list... I would put it at number 6 before MM 6.

MM9 isn't designed around the slide or charge, so it's not a problem. The level design is some of the best that the series has to offer; people bitch about the instant kills, but 90% of the time, it's fair when you die. For example, people complain about Galaxy Man's grabbers, but you're introduced to them safely, and even after that, if you get caught, you can save yourself if your reflexes are good enough. It also has the best pacing of the series. And story? Who plays MM for story? MM9 has the best weapons, some of the best bosses(Concrete Man= GOAT RM battle from a game design standpoint), and on point level design and flow. It's the ultimate MM experience.
