Just a reminder to all to not get too caught up in the aesthetics of "minimalism", and to not treat it like something that needs to be planned, reconned and executed. It should not feel restrictive. It should be soul-enlivening. Check in with yourself at all stages of the journey. Discard that which is weighing you down. Bring joy into your home through laughter, gratitude, and presence (which you should now have more time for) - not the new bowl you had to find and then purchase to replace your fav', which you tossed because it did not vibe with the sand and stone decor you think you should like. So many are misusing this beautiful tool and end up living the same life they always have, but in a more restrictive manner, and likely even less aligned with their authentic selves. Are you trying to be in control by depriving yourself and following a formula, or are you on an actual healing journey of self-discovery? Real-talk. Minimalism and slow living are ideals that should be defined by each individual - not a specific aesthetic or set of activities. It's okay to not like sourdough bread, painting, gardening, a neutral palette, or the act of endlessly trying to curate a look/personal brand (unless it brings you joy). The healing part of this journey is the identification of how little you actually need in order to be happy and how happiness should be defined by no one but yourself - you don't need external validation or permission to step away from a lifestyle you were taught to want (and don't let minimalism become just that). Are you constantly in need of a vacation from your life? Or is each day fulfilling? Lastly, I try to refrain from using "minimalist" as a new identity, because who we are without the labels is perfection. I hope that when we ask the new generation of kids what they want to be when they grow up, or who they are, they just say "happy". Enjoy the journey. xx

I live in the UK and always felt the houses here are smaller specially compared to the US but I realised the houses are lovely with backyard gardens we just need to know how to arrange the space with what we love rather than stuffing everything marketed to us 🥰🥰

I have noticed that watching minimalist videos (especially yours!) feels so calming when I feel so stressed, anxious and overwhelmed which happens a lot. I want to at some point in my life to become somewhat a minimalist if I can. I really want to declutter a lot of stuff but for me the most stressful part is not always the decluttering part but what to do with the stuff and how to get rid of them after being done, so instead your room looks even more decluttered before you even started (kind of like when you start organizing, it is chaos in the beginning). I don't know if that is just me or what.

I don't even know where to begin but I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for bringing me so much joy and peacefulness. I found your channel less than 1 month ago and it changed my life. I felt overwhelmed. So I started to declutter and to embrace this way of life. It'll be a long process... I have so many things to do but yesterday, when I brought many unused items to a foundation and saw their smiles on their faces, I knew I got it right. Finally.

I have lived in over 40 different homes. I love your home, it's so elegant and simple! I am a minimalist too but I honestly never really bought much from the beginning so it is very natural to me and nothing that I have intentionally learnt.

There’s this calming sense of peace that’s flowing through your home! I didn’t feel or see that in the other homes but this one has a certain zen vibe! It’s the kind of space that every room the hallway the kitchen everything flows in rhythm! So it’s like you’re surrounded by this peacefulness this tranquility as soon as you step foot in the door! Thank you for sharing! I’m close to buying my first home, and am overwhelmed at the thought of decorating so much space. Videos like these help remind me that I don’t have to if I truly don’t want to. There is nothing wrong with blank space or just a few pieces here and there; every wall or corner doesn’t have to be filled to the brim in order to be beautiful and homey.
I love the warm white on the walls, natural materials, texture, lack of patterns (the striped pillow pops) and the correct ratio of furniture to walls lol. Cozy and clean. I like open shelving too.

Your house reminds me of a gorgeous plantation-era cottage I lived in on the Big Island when my kids were little. The kitchen actually made me a little teary-eyed from all the good memories. Hi Sophie your home is beautiful less is truly more I’m getting their but still away to go I’ve been chipping away at it for nearly a year I’ve been overwhelmed I’ve struggled I’ve come close to tears at times but I’m so pleased that my eyes have been opened to minimal living i really look forward to the day that I’m organised I’ve missed all the nice summer days as I was decluttering I’m hoping I can enjoy next summer and come home to a tidy house with just essential items your videos along with some others have truly helped me and got me to where I am at the moment thank you
