Padmé Amidala be awesome if he did. There act is pristine. Nothing is a surprise. That’s why the fucking light show is so awesome and right on the money with the music.
Brent Smith is a kind, generous, wonderful person! He is one of the best rock singers ever! His voice is amazing, so beautiful! One of a kind singer as well! Love Shinedown sooo much!! 💙💙💙
I've been around so many vocalists over the years and each one is different. I react as quickly as they do if someone who doesn't know that a bottle of ice cold water isn't conducive to warming up. As for 3 mins of weird noises I defer to my thoughts about the amount of muscles in his face he keeps in shape as well. 😼
I was damnit!! My 7 year old daughter is OBSESSED with him lol she can ALWAYS point him out just by his voice 💕 Yes, I am a very proud mama!! And my 6 year old son is all about Volbeat and Motley Crue lol
Your voice is your gift, and an instrument like any other must be treated with respect, not to many vocalists would show you behind the scenes, thanks :P
I hate it when musicians act like something was just given to them. As it takes blood sweat and tears, and lots of passion to reach that level of skill. I love it when they actually tell people how they work, because why wouldn't you want some more beautiful music in this world. Or are they just so insecure.. Brent shows his warm ups, which is awesome, tells on instagram stories how he writes melodies. It's not away from him. Also Ed Sheeran once showed his early singing recordings, which were not good. I can't tell you how long it took me to get into singing, just because I thought it was a "god given gift". Everyone can sing, doesn't mean everyone sounds the same, and they shouldn't :)
Oh course they do it’s a tiny muscle, just because your got a great voice doesn’t mean you don’t have to warm it up every day. I do 15 mins of vocal warmups every day.
What I like is that the warm up really is that. Getting the basic function of the voice going. It reminds me of an interview with Ronnie James Dio. "There are only so many hours a day in the voice." So you warm up a little to be limber but you save the hard push for the stage.
As a singer myself this actually taught me something. I was slightly laughing the whole time but it was really great! I might use some of the warm ups myself!
I love how he's letting us in to his little personal time before a show. What a guy. Top 3 favorite bands of all time for the last 18 years, easy. I remember seeing them before they were big. Great guys.
Caught yalls performance, at rockville 2019... that performance made me feel, i hadn't paid enough, even though i could spare no more lol. Living legends!
I just wanted to say that I love the band. I had the privilege of attending a concert just a couple days ago in Irvine, CA, and it was absolutely fantastic. I went with my dad and my best friend, and all three of us loved it. Both me and my dad have been fans since Amaryllis came out, and we both enjoyed that a bunch of Amaryllis songs showed up in the concert. My friend has never been into rock music very much, but after the concert, he became a fan of you as well. We got pretty lucky with our seating and were about 10 feet away from the platform where Eric Bass was playing for a few of the songs. My friend loved the acoustic songs, especially Through the Ghost and Simple Man, so much that the next day he started showing massive interest in guitar, and has now asked to begin guitar lessons. The point of this is that your music quite literally changed him, and I want to say thank you for that. Keep doing what you’re doing, and I love you guys
I have loved shinedown since the movie grind came out, thanks to the one band that has never let us down, that's the state of my state of my head..... yeah son kill it
I love this group I am 55 years old and I enjoy pure rock music not metal not rap (well maybe some) and not country. Rock and this is a closest thing that my kids can hear today's times that is Rock.
I genuinely love this band ! #20years # 1fan. Sing some of your old songs. Seen your guys several times and never heard anything from the first album. Simple man and 45 mixed together. Upset about that. Call me or burning bright Cone on guys.
Saw them in Dallas in May and they did both 45 and Simple Man. I've seen them live for the past 4 years and every time they do Simple Man. Could just be for Dallas though, idk. But I'm with you, I'd love to hear Burning Bright or even Fly from the Inside, maybe.
Claire DeMar always a mix of 45 and simple man. Last one no 45. I love them. I don’t miss a show in a 200 mile radius. I’m in KCMO fairly easy to go. NEVER heard one other song from first album. That’s the album that got me thru some hard shit. I absolutely love it listen to it as much as kill your conscience. Burning Bright my very very fav call me live. I may die.
We saw them about a week ago... They did Call Me and I was sooooo happy. I love Kill Your Conscience too!!! Well I pretty much love everything they do. They're amazing live! 😄
Man whenever I'm in a happy mood I sing. I found a way to steal the sun from the sky. Long live that day that I decided to fly from the inside. I hope you don't go to pop but hey it's you're music. Just glad you're still playing
The thing that sticks out to me most is how healthy and well-adjusted he seems in comparison to a lot of other famous artists in the past at similar stages in their career (20 years in).
Great to know Brent! I've always thought your routine was a little bit longer, containing the exercises from Ron Anderson... Thanks for sharing this with us!
Omfg! Practicing and teaching my self to sing and started doing the see warmups for 5 mins before jamming has helped so much! And seeing his technique was UNBEATABLE. Now please have him to a video of his belting technique with and without grit for those of us that worship his Godly voice!!! Please
I love the idea of following these guys and finding out some up close and personal styles of their own unique things in performing..... damn what a voice.
I had the volume all the up while watching this at 1 am and my cousin walked in right as he said "YYYYYEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHH!!!" and we both died 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Amazing ❤❤ grew up listening to your music and I know just about all your music. You are first on my playlist everyday I need your last 2 albums on repeat i know them by heart ❤ keep up the good work
Of course!! 😉 You’re welcome! You guys are my favorite band. There’s not a day in my life that goes by without Shinedown in it. One band, one sound, and your sound is my favorite. Thank you sir for writing and performing such awesome music. You guys are phenomenal!!
Brent Smith passing out his email address and inviting me to Google hangouts as much as I wish it were real tell me something Brent what is your favorite song?
Brent Smith would absolutely be able to answer this you had long hair it was pulled back in a pony tail and you were performing in Kansas before you sang you talked about some furniture that was being raked across a hardwood floor after that you sang a song. Can you tell me what song it was that you sang after talking about the furniture that was being raked across the hardwood floor?
Brent Smith I found this so interesting, what you use for warming up is very similar to what a speech therapist used to teach our young son with autism to speak again after he stoped talking.she taught us and him that he needed to keep the muscles used for speaking active.
I've seen Shinedown twice an Brent definitely laid the hammer down on both those occasions. Keep up the fantastic work and look forward to seeing you next time you come back to Houston!
My daughter and I saw you guys perform 2 days before this video was posted in Houston.
