have been playing the first and third beats for years. And I just found out that it's one of the most basic ones. I have so much to learn. Thanks DRUMEO!
This just opened up a whole new way of drumming for me.Great tools.Thank You for making it easy to understand & helping me to better understand drum notation.
I dont care what any naysayer projects. They are missing a greater lesson... These simple patterns are what I mix warm ups with after playing the pad about 30 min, I go to the kit for 1-2 hrs, and these paradiddles help lock these concepts to muscle memory to aid you down the road in harder progressions, but with the same basis and building blocks as these. . . Ya dig?
This might sound weird, but can you guys make a video on how to TEACH other people to play drums? Just a quick video on the basics you'll need to cover first, what to do after, consistency, etc. Haha a tutorial video on tutoring, I know
For example #2 if you move the kick on the "+" of 3 and move it to the "uh" you can instantly funk this up a bit. Even more so if you add another kick on the "e". Even more so if you invert the paradiddle! RllRLrrL.
I WISH THAT I HAD ALL THIS BACK WHEN I STARTED 1971 (I DIDN'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A STACK OF DRUMS AND A STACK OF HAT BOXES) MY TUTOR WAS TEACHING ME SOMETHING THAT I DIDN'T HAVE A CLUE "paradiddle"? or jimmy*iddle? "now go away and practice ,see you next week" he'd say" buddy rich ? gene krupa? No, mate Paul Robeson. you guys .....are lucky" any one know how to play "SING ,SING ,SING?? I ENVY YOU!!!
i personally like the paradiddle very much but : why do you only split it to Hand and feet ?? Did you ever try to only do it with your feet ?? XDDDD lasts a while but sounds nice
Because you waste your time during the day so you feel like you have to make it up before you repeat the same mistakes tomorrow, and you have neighbours because it is not within your power to acquire more space for yourself.
Did you forget the time when you first started drumming? Lots of drummers need beginner lessons, lots of drummers need more challenging lessons. We do both :)
Exactly! i forgot the time when i started, could you do a video of this? I've already seen one that u did with a metronome which stop and start but if you could do other lesson of this would be perfect :) you know this is the most important thing of a drummer so... hahaha
+jakhari123 If you think it's too easy then maybe you should challenge yourself by trying to play it precise but faster? Or maybe come up with your own patterns?
jakhari123 I'm sure there is such too, just a matter of finding them. Have you tried searching for advanced drum lessons or something similar? And do you have any specific goal, like becoming good enough so you can join a band?
+Dekten Suckmycock I've been trying that for years now on RUclips. and my goals are to make it to the NBA and win the drum off to buy me a car in the meantime
One of the best Drumeo instructors.....he knows how to teach! Great lesson.
I'll be honest. I almost ran away in tears just from hearing "paradiddles" and "32nds" in the same sentence.
Literally the best channel on RUclips for drums! Thanks for all your help Drumeo team!

Dave, you are the Best Teacher Ever
the most beautiful exemple of groove with paradiddle i know is David Bowie's song "look back in anger" with drummer Dennis Davis
this was more fun than i thought it would be

nice one! I find that doing any type of paradiddle and paradiddle-diddle, especially around the kit, really strengthens both hands
Excellent instruction - Thanks much!
This encourage me to practice the paradiddle

Fondue just remember how you started years ago
Strabby Crabby you know that comment is 3 years old, pls don't reply to comments like that cos it doesn't matter anymore just saying, check the time
Fondue,
Sam Green shut up Sam
if you r confident then you can teach any people. i think you dont have that much confidence in drums
Could the shot from above be any further away. It looks like it was filmed from the ISS.
Thanx for the education. if anything it opens your head to other things.
5:08 reminds me of the intro to Cherub Rock.
8:00 F*ck ! Nice...Love this beat
took me a little but this beat is sick asf

Para diddles are very fun! No matter your drumming level

Easy to learn
for me, the last pattern sounds waaay cooler in 60 bpm.
thanks for da #4 lesson, Canadian dawg! that shit was what I needed.

Exelente ! Muy didactico.
Pataflafla is the best, bruh. Even the name rocks.
Hey jared, what program/application are you using to write and insert the drum notation into your video? Thanks
Good
would be nice to be able to print out sheet music?
Nice
Sensacional !!!

Dvd set available?
ok let me get this straight this lesson is something to apply to real world music is that vs applying it to fake world music
that paradidle in the cymbals looks like RLLRRLRLLR xD
PLEASE, just play
Then it wouldn't be a lesson, but rather a dude playing drums.
thank you!

Why do i watch these videos at midnight and why do i have neighbours xD
Because you waste your time during the day so you feel like you have to make it up before you repeat the same mistakes tomorrow, and you have neighbours because it is not within your power to acquire more space for yourself.
@@gickygackers the second part is right but the thing with wasting time is totslly wrong
@@intingwithzoe5715 there's no justification for watching videos instead of sleeping to be ready to practice the next day
@@gickygackers have you ever heard of full time jobs? Bet you dont dare to have your boss walk in on you while you watch videos
@@intingwithzoe5715 bruh that sucks. Praying you level up that income game. Be fearless in your acquiring of skills and their application
Mark from blink 182
you should do harder lessons :(

I don't understand what you are saying
Now you know how the rest of us feel.
First!) The lesson is cool
:50 "Even non-drummers know what a paradiddle is."
Uhh non-drummer here, looking for an explanation of what a paradiddle is =/
Ive heard linguists use it when they show ppl how to roll the r, but they also said it's drum term.
Cooooooooolllllllllll
oooook
why do they only have easy patterns they need some more advanced stuff. everyone isn't behind
+jakhari123 If you think it's too easy then maybe you should challenge yourself by trying to play it precise but faster? Or maybe come up with your own patterns?
Dekten Suckmycock I've done that already. I wish there where videos for advanced drummers that actually have a challenge to them
jakhari123
