Great song - deep, profound lyrics - powerfully sung with passion. I think what was missing in this was a great guitar lead - think David Gilmore (Pink Floyd) in "Comfortably Numb." That would have been the icing on the cake.

That’s what I literally just now woke up hearing even though the song has not crossed my mind in over a decade. I asked for help finally as an atheist agnostic, but not a hater of anyone. I can’t explain it, so apparently someone wants us to be unified. So I will do my best.

@@benknapp4166it’s well known that many thought Creed to be a Christian rock band which is what was part of the break up because the band resented the way Scott wrote his lyrics with Christian undertones which Scott Stapp admits his lyrics were faith based influenced by his Christian faith. He even said once that he felt the Holy Spirit when he was writing his lyrics. He also said he asked God that if he would make him a success that he would stay true to Gods word in his lyrics. So to say that this has nothing to do with Christianity is way farther from the truth.

This song is So applicable to the world today, i'm sure most of you could agree, it's how we the individual listeners perceive the world right now... We all feel individually angry and helpless, yet everybody wants to change the world, making us feel violent and isolated. Some more than others and that plus 1000 other possible reasons is when extremists become who they are. Unfortunately most are then beyond any kind of reasoning or chance of understanding the true nature of the ones they might end up attacking. This extreme mentality in an objective context is not racist, it's not sexist, and it doesn't care what book you believe in. Any body of any shape size and all colors of the rainbow are susceptible to extremist views under the right circumstances. If only it were as easy to be able to just say "you don't understand, please let me help you to" or what ever needs to be said to fix any given situation, come together (right now) all Hippy Trippy Love Peace Chicken Grease... y'kno like the episode where Lionel Huttz imagines "a world without lawyers" and he pictures everyone all happy hands joined together in perfect harmony before he quickly CRINGES Back To REALITY In Disgust! Wow...This song was a warning. As soon as policies like affirmative action started drawing lines between us, we were doomed. Unity was thrown away, and we were sold the lie that Diversity makes us strong. Diversity is division, and no nation divided is strong. Unity in spite of our differences is what once made us strong.
