  • Hey FPV enthusiasts, welcome back to the channel! Today, I've got a candid review of my experience with the ‪@walksnail2645‬ /‪@CADDXFPV‬ HD Pro Kit, and let me tell you, it's been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, mostly lows.
I invested in the Walksnail HD Pro Kit with high hopes for an immersive and reliable FPV experience. However, reality hit hard. Despite my best efforts-upgrading antennas, maxing out the VTX power(to 1200mW) with the FCC hack, you name it-this setup consistently struggled to maintain a connection beyond 6-10ft. Yes, you heard that right.
In this review, I'll share the frustrating journey I went through, the steps I took to troubleshoot, and the ultimate demise of my drone in a dirty pond. Spoiler alert: only the Caddx Walnut action camera and three motors survived the plunge.
I tagged Walksnail and Caddx on Instagram, posting a crash video and detailing the issues I faced on my status. Disappointingly, I got no response from them. It's disheartening when a company that claims to be in touch with the FPV community ignores a genuine problem.
My advice to fellow pilots looking to dive into digital video transmission systems: save yourself the headache and opt for a more reliable option like DJI VTX. With a longer track record in the drone game, DJI products are known for stability, unlike my regrettable Walksnail experience.
Let's spark a conversation in the comments. Have you faced similar issues with Walksnail or found a reliable alternative? Share your thoughts, and as always, fly safe out there! ✈️🔧

NOTE: This is based on my own experience with the product, you could like it or don't like it, I already experienced what I experienced and the fact that the brand ignored me, means it could happen to anyone, and they'll ignore them, if they haven't already

You weren’t in ‘low power rf’ mode were you?

I wasn’t, this went on for months and even after switching antennas and unlocking, doing everything everyone suggested, same thing. It wasn’t just a low power issue even though at first I thought it was, the reason I say that is because, it goes black not the usual digital psychedelic effect, even when it’s in front of me 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ I honestly thought I fixed after the unlock, but it just went black nd reconnecting takes from 15seconds up

@@techgiantt That sounds to me like your VTX is rebooting. How are you powering it?

@@wattage2007 9v pad from my speedybee Fc, both on the F405 v3 and I later tried it on the v4 still same issue, it was the v4 board that went down with it 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ I honestly wished I was mistaken that’s why I kept trying it for a while on different drone setup, because I didn’t want to have to get a new Dji goggles while I had the Skyzone 04x v2 for all my other quads. So I got the VRX, I flashed all latest firmwares. What was even annoying was I tagged them to that video on my status on IG and wrote everything that happened and no response, it seems they only respond to select people, whereas all the reviewers said they were in touch with the fpv community way more than Dji but it’s not true, they are all the same, but at least Dji don’t release subpar things like this and ignore a customer.

I’m unclear what video we’re watching in the flight. Is that a GoPro or something? Do you have the OSD recording from the VRX? Would be interesting to see if your signal dropped immediately before video loss. If signal didn’t drop, that’d suggest a power problem. I’ve had VTX rebooting in flight due to power issues and it took 15s before the VTX rebooted and reconnected.
