the other day they finally sent me my tern lr40 with o3. but this is the last digital device with DGI that I planned and bought. the next number, if there is one, will be walksnail. True, this will only happen when the cameras on the devices approach the price of the top-end analogue. Until then, I can't afford to risk a $440 device at long range. so 99% of the time I will use analog. a little chaotic, but as best I could.
Thanks for talking about how signal loss is handled - dji goes to low power mode and then... well good luck regaining a signal once it's lost many kms away. only once it's close and RTL'd to overhead does the signal reconnect. WS appears to be much better in this regard with 4 seconds to reconnect. Still nothing like analog as you state, let alone 1.3ghz analog. Cool antenna building! I found diy antennas can work well but easy to get wrong/badly tuned?
I havent got the V1 but it looks like the problem is still in v2. Maybe scraping the screws would solve this issue but on my long range quad I really want to be sure that GPS will work as well as it could.
Mads Tech did a video where he uses a spectrum analyzer which shows the V2 no longer has the interference the V1 had. Of course there are more reasons why interference could happen to include a faulty device or poor installation.
I disagree with the statement that walksnail is made "by the community and for the community" In my dealings with walksnail i never felt more insignificant and they never felt more like a souless company Though i appreciate you giving an honest review. Thank you for the great info
I have done every tests on 700mW, I am not sure if I mentioned it in the video. Probably not and that is a huge fail. But the OSD info about channel is something I forgot there from Analog vtx. It is not the reality because the vtx power on walksnail can be set up only throught goggles and not from FC.
@@farisnazeri9841 I would recommend to use the freedom of changing parameters for specific place. Race mode obviously for race, for some cruising alone 16:9 1080P 50mbps. For agressive freestyle 4:3 720p 100fps 50mbps. Its just few clicks! Use the hw and know the fw ffs!
I just put the GPS receiver at the front of the quad away from the vtx and its RF output. I can't understand the continued stupidity our Chinese freinds have of stuffing it all together at the rear of the quad .....🤔😳😳😳🙄🙄🇬🇧
it is always a compromise to where you put the GPS. You can put it in front but it is more likely to be damaged while some crash. You can put it in the back, but it performance will be worse due the interference from VTX and a bit from RX. You can put it on the side between arms, but this will cause more air resistance. I just put it at the back as I designed the frame myself and the back is combined with RPSMA connector holder and third stage antenna fixation. But there were options for mounting it under the Thumb 4k, but I assume that imaging processor from thumb will produce a lot of noise too. And for real I donť mind to shield the cables. :D I was also using coax cable on analog builds to route video signal and even power for vtx after cleaning it with LC filter. :)
@@VincentFPV Agreed, but the M10 GPS is tiny. I never carry a bloody great heavy GoPro, another madness IMO. I guess it's all down to preferences. I'm a retired Design Engineer, so I tend to make custom parts for my quads....🤔😳😏🇬🇧

"Cant have any positive feelings for like two years", 😢 You shared a lot of useful information, thanks!
Left my job and today Im going to new one. Its a lot better now. The amount of stress build up in the old job was too much for me. :)
Great solution for gps problems on walksnail vtx
yes it is! :)
Very nice view on the new problems in rov.... I really enjoyed watching this.. thanks for sharing..
Thanks. I'm glad you've find it informative
Very good video. There is few information about these topics on the web. Thankyou.
Great video. I'm probably gonna be making some 3-5 turn helical antennas for mine. I want something that doesn't stand out much.
Very useful video, thanks!
well done. I placed my gps onto some arm of the quad. There it's kinda far a way and I'm happy with it.
Amazing 😮
It was a great informative video, thank you. I really have a lot to do with my avatar walksnail device.

hope you're doing well buddy
Its fine now. :)
I think on the Goggles X the TX port is on the left side, when you wear them.
Yes there is.
im setting up a fixed wing with the same equipment - will I get interference or is it a quad thing only?
About GPS no sat, is the Vtx V1 ? it's know that is a problem with this first version.
gps просто достал, я поменял 3 модуля. убрал аж к хвосту gps. но теперь попробую и экранировать передатчик.
wasn't the interference problem mainly on v1 of VTX? I tought they fixed it with V2 or is it still major problem with the v2? Great video, thank you.

Damn thanks for this info. I do have the problem with V1 vtx (I have to power my FC with USB until I get gps fix and replace USB power with lipo

Maybe you can do a build video of your diy antenna?
Its on my channel but outdated. I'll make some new one :)

Are you doing this with the maximum output power? Just, seeing the R : 5 : 25 makes me think you're on 25 mW?

hello ,what is the recomennded setting fot vtx power and mbps?
Unlimited power and all of the mbps you can find.

@@EnglishTurbines I totaly understand. :) I still love to carry the 20g Thumb because the 4k video from it is much better than the avatar DVR.
