This version of summoning is the most reasonable so far. As much as some people love the idea of summoning in endless hordes (and GW loves the idea of people buying mountains of plastic for summoning) it just isn't fun to play against and with, and it pretty much impossible to balance well.
I’m so glad that they changed Summoning like this. I always wanted to start a Tzeentch Army, but I was put off by the summoning mechanic since it meant the entry cost was prohibitively expensive. Same goes for the endless spells rule. It was cool, but it meant I had to own the endless spells or just miss out on an army mechanic entirely.
Tzeentch is my main army, and super hard to play for me lol. I loose like 98% of the time. But i still enjoy them, and these new rules look fun! Can't wait to try them
Summoning was stupid and no one was talking about it. Demon armies just casually need to buy 3000 points of models for a 2000 point game. And no one tells that to new players, no guide says that. My brother bought some Seraphon and we just now heard for the first time he would need more models than you can fit into a list.
A friend of mine plays tzeentch and he always reads the tecnical ruling of casting spells as that you dont technically choose a target of a spell until after its cast. So all he does is shoot spells into the air avoiding casting anything at my khorne guys, effectively negating my whole armys strengths and still getting to summon of a lord of change. So im happy with the nerf to summoning honestly
No more big birds mid battle If you want em, gotta pay for 'em The theme of 4th seems to be more recursion in general and less allies or coalition It became that way towards the end of third, but these faction focus articles confirm at least the former I think summoning affected some army unit costs more than others due to how things could snowball With summoning removed, they may be able to ease up on points values a tad but not too much --- because recursion is still a pretty strong
No free summoning is very healthy for the game, but wyrdflame is just disease points and all the minor changes don't make me excited to put this army back on the table.

Yeah the burning mechanic with turning them into chaos spawn sounds great

I didn’t realize cream played warhammer! Another reason to love him even more
