The short stroking is a gas related issue. Ensure the gas port in the barrel is aligned with the gas port in the gas block. I have seen this issue before an new builds and that has been the issue 100% of the time. Measure the barrel gas port hole from the shoulder to the hole, then measure the gas block from the end. Some gas blocks are designed to have the front handguard ring between the shoulder of the barrel and the gas block. I realize you may not be able to measure the hole on the gas block because of the pin/welded flash hider. If that is the case, move the gas block forward about the thickness of a thin sheet metal front hgandguard ring, and take it to the range and shoot it.
Swapping uppers will tell you if it’s an upper or lower issue, but I suspect it’s an upper lower mismatch between the VLTOR and the ADM…these are so precision manufactured that I’m not sure they’re as compatible as sloppier forged Milspec receivers. All great parts and it’s stunning.
That's a good point. It seemed like when it ran, it was gassed perfectly. Locked back on the last round and everything, but sometimes, it just didn't eject. Kind of weird, but I'll be taking it back out tomorrow for more testing, so hopefully I'll get it figured out.
The Sly Tactical padded sling is nice, and it's what I run. I like how they do their pull tab for easy and smooth pulls in or out, and I like that the buckle that slides isn't some big hunk of metal like the Ferro Slingster is. Also it's made from class 1 nylon I believe so it's very smooth on the skin as well as being very strong! Highly recommend!!!
Dude! Awesome build so far! I have to admit there are allot of parts on that build that a dream of having, like the VLTor MUR the ADM ambi lower, and Rosco barrel, but I am not a fan of Geissele but to each their own, I want a gold SPICE TAC/Tool Craft BCG I also want, the VLTor A5 buffer system, with the Reptilla Recc-e stock. that's what I want for a dream build.
Good for you! Go for it! Build your dream build. You will be really happy with it when you're done. I think I should have gone with the Vltor A5 buffer system on this one, actually. This is the second build that I've used the Geissele Super 42 buffer system on and the second one that I've had problems with...

The cycling issues are most likely the buffer spring and/or buffer. I had cycling issues because I got the wrong spring. Switched it out with a standard one and it’s shot perfectly ever since. What kind of buffer spring and buffer you using?
I think you're right. I'm running the Geissele Super 42 system with an H2 buffer and it seems like just a little too much. H2 is what is recommended for a 14.5" mid-length gas system, but it seems to me like I need an H1. I need to contact Geissele and see if I can just get the H1 buffer, because regular buffers won't fit inside the Super 42 braided wire spring.
@@sawtoothtactical404 hope you can get it figured out. But if I were you I would get an H1 buffer and a standard buffer spring as well just in case. Real nice build btw. As far as slings go I’ve only ever used Blueforce gear and they are great quality. The Warrior Poet Society sling looks good but haven’t used one or seen many reviews on it. Good luck with the build.

I have ADM UIC upper & lower I'm building out right now. Debating between the FCD EPC twin dimple & V7 Ultralight Designer dust covers. How do you like the EPC cover you have on? Just trying to figure out which dust cover I want to spend $50 on?
I want to get the EPC, but I read somewhere they aren’t comparable with the upper receiver I have, Centurion Arms CM4/Battle Axe. I’m sure it’s nothing a dreamer can’t fix, but I really don’t want to do that.
I was pulling my hair out with a super lightweight 300 Blkout build. Dumped way too much money in and could not get it running 100% with a titanium adjustable bolt carrier group until I basically took all the weights out of the buffer. Now it hasn’t had a hiccup in over 1000 rounds.
The mags I'm using are brand new Gen M3 Window P-Mags. They're pretty much the standard for reliability, but I'll try some of my other mags, just in case that could be the issue.
Spending all that money to building an unrealiable gun. That sucks man. I guess that's the reason not to mix and match a bunch of different parts. You should have just picked up an LWRC 5.56.
I have other guns. The point isn't just to pick something up, although LWRC is fantastic. I enjoy building them. I put a different buffer and spring in it and it's totally reliable, but that's part of building: sometimes you gotta experiment a little to see what's going to work.
