@@kedarreiskirkendoll139 Took me two weeks to get the first one. And about five days for the second one. The PX here used to have them. But they've been on back order for months due to Covid 19
The IHWCU is not yet approved for AF usage but hopefully it will be soon. OCPs are pretty damned hot to wear. It's why servicemen go in undershirts without the jacket whenever they're allowed to. Especially in hot states like Florida, the only time OCPs are comfortable is when the temperature is down in the 60s.
I've froze my ass off in the woods and patrolled streets in 90f+ heat wearing 70+ pounds of body armor and equipment (RTO). Not once have I ever said "man I should've joined the Air Force". Love you guys tho :)
There's elements of this uniform I wish they'd bring to the regular OCPs, I prefer the buttons I had on my ABUs over the zipper on OCPs and I hate the zipper sleeve pockets on the OCPs, getting the pockets open is no problem but when I need to rezip it I have to hold my cuff, I do use my breast pockets so going to this uniform wouldn't be good for me. Also if Big Air Force is listening, we need the pen pockets on the lower leg to come back.
i rather go back to old acus.hate these button cuffs, takes way longer to get them on compare to velcros. also the cargo pockets aswell, dont realy want to waist my time button on and off
I didn't know that the army and the space force were also getting the 57-43 cut. I'm just a CAP cadet, and I asked a SERE instructor who was wearing the 57-43's about that cut and he said that everybody was gonna be getting them, so I thought he meant everybody in the Air Force, but I didn't think he meant EVERYBODY
With my two British MTP PCS, removed the velcro, sewed my patches on to prevent losing patches and making noises with the velcro. We do Sew are patches on are MTP PCS Barrack Shirt.
Penelope chill… I’m from TX and we say things like ya”ll, fixin, might could, all git-out, etc & don’t YOU dare even hint that we are not speaking the English language appropriately. PS: I like the new “buddens” 😜
I never was in the military but I subscribe to the minutemen theory so I got the 2 piece flight suit set in OCP and it is quite comfortable. In the firedepartment I'm used to wearing nomex so when I saw those were available I got them because I knew how comfortable nomex is. I got the top and bottoms for $30 total, so that was a big reason too. I use them for hiking and training and they literaly feel like pajamas. Was interested in the hot weather stuff because they seem more rugged since made of nyco but also keep you cool.
If you knew a little about textiles and sewing you know these are trash cheap garbage that you all are buying off on. After wearing them in the field like a real infantry man and you’ll see where they will fail.
One thing you forgot to mention is that the type of OCP depends on your job.. some people are required to wear the fire resistente version which are hotter...
Are the cargo pockets sewn down in the middle, or is it one big standard cargo pocket? It looks like the former is the case but I haven't really seen anything that confirms either theory.
In reference to the "button" scandal, in Philly (the birthplace of the country), we tend to soften Ts in the middle of words, or even completely ignore them, so "buddon" or even "bu'on" would be more acceptable than enunciating the Ts. Her "you don't sound American" comment couldn't be any more wrong... Either way, good video.
I’m looking to buy a second set, first set I received from the army, but the pants got a little tight on me lol. How do the pants that you got run/fit? True to size, go up a size, or go down a size compared to the normal OCPs
OK, I'm definitely turning into a grumpy old vet, complaining about every change the military makes. But what the hell was wrong with the OCP? Yall were getting hot or somthing? Drink water.
It took me 2 months to get mine through ya patriot tactical. My collar area is like twice the size as normal ocp. It shows like twice as much of my undershirt because it opens up lower in the blouse
How exactly will the military know your not wearing the 50/50 blend vs this 57 blend, like in what ways will they be able to tell you no you can’t wear it it fits a lot better then the normal ocp and we are the same height to 👌🏼
It’s been told that sometimes an SNCO can feel it in their skin when a junior enlisted or NCO is breaking the rules. Also I’m glad this helped my fellow short king 🤙🏽
For the shoulder pockets they went from vecro (UCP ACUs) to zippers (OCP ACUs) to buttons (OCP IHWCU)! For the main fastener for the chest, they went from buttons (BDUs) to zipper and velcro (ACU) to buttons (IHWCU)! For the cargo pockets, buttons to velcro and drawstring, back to buttons! Lmao
Why didn’t the Air Force just go forward with this and adopt it?! Dang it!! I work outside for my AFSC and the OCPs we have aren’t that comfortable at all, it matters because if we wear combat shirts under out plate carriers, we have to wear the plate carriers with them 24/7, these would be the double win solution to this.
Over time, the reinforced portions on the knee area and crotch/ass area fades at a different rate than the rest of the uniform. Makes it look multicolored and really unprofessional. Drives me crazy. I’m sure there are Command Sergeants Major out there who have had aneurisms over this.
I talked to the captain who fielded this uniform for the Army three years ago. ruclips.net/video/e0I1XlB5oKA/видео.html BTW, I am from the Bronx. Born and raised in NYC.

I'm in the Army. These summer uniforms are very comfortable and great for field exercises. Especially out here in the south west US

FYI, since the OCP is still in Standard circulation, it's not old. I would say "compared to the current OCP".
what PC did you use? truspecs doesnt seem to have pcs?!

Basically it's back to BDUs in a more modern camo pattern. Which I sort of predicted would happen. BDUs were comfortable and practical.
Man l miss the old woodlands camouflage, they were just simple and when they were broke in and after a good ironing they still looked good.
They were the best, unlike the cheap copies of them now.
They were horrid--and very limited. The solid green worked far better in the jungle for example

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 the pen pocket on the lower leg was taken for granted
Most of the units I served with in the Army back when we were wearing couch camo 🤮, we weren't allowed to use the chest pockets anyways.
Seems pretty counter intuitive to me, Boss.
@@TheNikeAirman Hey, my last command I was under, didn't allow us to use our cargo pockets except for our cover.
@@TheNikeAirman Because when you wear an IOTV, your chest pockets aren't accessible. That's my guess as to why they'd say that.

Their great for a costume party.
Just the fact that the pockets are now forward facing prove this uniform is better.

"2ND closest" to pajamas...Army aviation knows the secret to the actual-closest to pajamas, and it's called the A2CU. 😎
Those thing are pretty dope! I’m only just a little jealous 😂
Great review, Airman! What size trousers are those? For that 5’6” to 5’8” range?

Does the IHWCU get made in size extra short too? Because I am an even tinier gnome
As a fellow short battle nome, did you have to go with short pants as well as the top, or just short top and reg bottoms?
I like your video TSgt thank you for your service
If I want to but these original trousers for work where can I buy them? Does the army sell to civilians?

They ruined it with the buttons tbh
It’s not too bad once you’re wearing it since you can’t really tell but I see where you’re coming from
more air flow
Way better than the zipper.
I feel more stuffy with the zipper tbh
Same here iammbokid. In hot weather I would leave zipper unzipped and just Velcro on
I feel like if I got this I’d have to answer constantly why I look different.
Truth
So can airman wear these?
How did u put the Velcro badge on ?
That ocp blouse sounds really super awesome I love it
Sincere Ridge
What’s the sizing on these same as the reg cops?
These ones are fairly similar, although a tad bit bigger due to the looseness of the fabric
They went from buttons to zippers to buttons
In true military fashion
For the shoulder pockets they went from vecro (UCP ACUs) to zippers (OCP ACUs) to buttons (OCP IHWCU)! For the main fastener for the chest, they went from buttons (BDUs) to zipper and velcro (ACU) to buttons (IHWCU)! For the cargo pockets, buttons to velcro and drawstring, back to buttons! Lmao
What is your job in the Airforce?
I was 1C6 “Space System Operations” I recently transferred to Space Force
why did they give you the IHWCU ? ?
did you have to pay for that personally ? ?
