DOTR mentioned, woohoo About Mimicat: One thing that's interesting as due to the Deck Cost rule: In order to duel in-game enemies, your deck cost has to be lower than theirs. 80 is a lot, as the lowest duelist has a cost of 757 and you need to have 40 cards in your deck. This card would come at the cost of using a lot weaker cards. However, due to the fusion mechanic, weak cards can become strong quite fast. In a PVP battle, you'd probably set a DC limit as well. In a format without deck costs, this card would be fantastic.
Ok tho but Don't let this distract You from the fact that grampas tried to beat Kaiba with Exodia, who was NEVER being summoned ever, not even once by anyone until Yugi does
KiteRoid should definitely be printed in real life because it can be useful to stop damage twice but I guess there’s better hand traps to stop battle damage

You should mention Ancient Lamp in Reshef. This lamp can summon a 1800 ATK beatstick that can attack (clone cards like Doron, Slime…can’t attack after using eff), and get buffed by Yami, which is almost a “default field” in late game

But then she played this card and chose Zane's little brother as the offering, so naturally Zane conceded and lost So, yeah, it's an insanely busted card
Additionally, the anime version is even MORE busted than the video game version: it would allow you to Summon ANY monster your opponent has played during the course of the game, regardless of where it is. In fact, Camula Summoned Cyber End Dragon, which was in the Extra Deck as Zane De-Fused it.
Duelist of the Roses Riryoku was insane(even though only the final boss can use the card). It halved the opponents current LP and it adds it to one monster as a permanent attack boost.
#11: Southern Stars - Duel Links It’s an anime exclusive card that permanently changes any monster’s level to 10. This actually has a huge impact on gameplay since it can be used for extra deck summons or for monsters that gain benefits by level. For example, cards like the Fortune Lady and F.A. archetypes or The Calculator become instant beatsticks or you can use it to allow level/rank 10, 11, and 12 synchro/xyz summons using lower level monsters.
Honorable Mention : Underground Arachnid A -6 Dark Synchro Monster that prevented Spells/Traps from being activated when it attacks and had the effect to target and equip 1 monster your opponent controls; if it would be destroyed (battle or effect), you can send the equiped monster instead. It also did not require the Insect Monster restriction to make that the one in the TCG has.
I'm surprised that many, MANY cards which appeared regularly in games(e.g. Invisible Wire) still got no OCG/TCG counterparts. Yeesh, some are even older than Konami Duel Monsters anime. At least the future seems bright with DM3 Construction Monsters coming through 20+ years of time..

Games need exclusives. I have been putting in every 50 gems survey at DL to make it happen. It was cute when Promethean Princess has a simul debut in MD and the OCG. It’s not a fun ride to be chasing physical in MD and then be chasing MD in DL with only the Skills and Layout to offset.
Having the egyptian gods in the story of nightmare troubadour was great. Especially since they were created for the video games years before they were released in the ocg/tcg.
Yeah I'm playing through Nightmare Troubadour right now and it's the best DM era game by a mile. It gives you proper experience of all the heights of DM (besides Waking the Dragon's sadly) and follows one of the most iconic ban lists of all time. The God's also are really fun to summon.
Wouldn't work cause of the level being on the same side as xyz ranks. Solution would either the level being on same side as levels normally are OR being where it's going from the center out (being a new thing beyond lv and rank)
One of the best cards in Tag Force was Cursed Prison, you can simply cheat out any synchro from the extra deck and then use Trap Stun or Book of Moon to negate the negative effects of that card, or just use Tyrant Neptune to copy its effects
I’m surprised the anime/game version of Power Wall wasn’t on this list. If you thought grass was annoying, just wait till your opponent mills 30 cards in 1 play 😂

9:38 Incorrect - you don't activate it if it is a spell/trap, you just revive it. In fact, if you revive a non-monster with this card, you actually can not move it until the turn after you revive it, meaning you can't even activate it the same turn you revive it. However if you revive a monster, you can move it, meaning you can attack with it and/or activate its effect immediately the same turn you revive it.
Those old pre-TCG rules YGO games are amazing. Their age and lack of proper modern TCG rules somehow made them far more timeless than games that came after the TCG rules were established are horribly outdated now. I love how nostalgic for that era of games Konami seems to be lately with all the new cards they're releasing in Infinite Forbidden and the new Early Days Collection of old games they've announced.
It's true they all have a unique flare to them. The World Championship games sort of act as a time capsule for most OCG formats but I'd say the 5D's ones also were incredibly unique thanks to their implementation of Turbo Dueling which... was way better than I was expecting. Duelists of the Roses, Forbidden Memories, Dungeon Dice Monsters, Falsebound Kingdom and the Sacred Cards Duology all of them had something unique. None will ever outshine Tag Force though.
I would love to hear your thoughts on how implementing some of the video game rules IRL would effect the meta. Like, Duel Links' way of doing semi-limiteds or Reshefs deck cost system.
There is an interesting fact about The Winged Dragon of Ra (phoenix mode) in Reshef of Destruction that I would argue makes the card better then Dark Flare Knight. In Reshef, all of the Egyptian God cards have a hidden effect that is not listed in their card texts where they cannot be destroyed by card effects (although they can still be affected by non-destruction effects like Dragon Capture Jar). Because of this destruction protection, I essentially auto-won all of the duels where I drew into phoenix mode because the AI could only destroy Ra by beating over it, which is not very easy given its 4,000 attack.

This card gains ATK and DEF equal to any battle or effect damage you inflict upon your opponent. While this card is face-up on the field, Any battle or effect damage you would take instead decreases this card’s ATK or DEF (Your Choice), and if this card’s ATK and DEF each becomes 0 by this effect, Destroy it. At the start of the damage step, If this card battles an opponent’s monster: You can destroy 1 card on the field, except the monster this card is battling. If this card is destroyed by battle or another card's effect: You can Special Summon 1 Level 7 or lower monster that is "Dark Magician" or mentions it, from your Deck or Extra Deck. You can only use each effect of "Mirage Magician" once per turn._ ATK/2800 DEF/2000
I need to double check the original sub, but the dub anime version of Sabatier was even more powerful because it was "become any card you want" instead of adding any card in your deck. You didn't even need to run the cards.
Idea: Cards that would work WAY BETTER IN TAG DUELS THAN SINGLE DUELS especially since you mentioned Tag Force a lot in here :D A good shout would be Giant Trunade as it effectively lock your opponents from using their spell and trap cards for 2 extra turns if used in Tag Duels since you need to wait for that amount of time to get your turn again after your opponent's move
Here's the actual answer: Darkness Approaches. It's that awful normal spell that just flips everything face down and for years was a meme b/c it specifies it doesn't change battle positions, so you could have something in face-down attack position. So like besides that quirk it's useless yeah? Except in the absolutely goated game Sacred Cards for the GBA (idk if it works in Reshef). In that game you place a monster on the field and it's automatically face-down, and you can either attack, defend or use it's effect. But in that game you can *only* use effects when the monster is in that summoned state as a face-down card, once you attack or use it's effect once it's face-up and is for all purposes a normal monster for the rest of the game. *Unless* you turn it face-down with Darkness Approaches, which turns them face-down and actually lets you use their effects again. And it's super cheap to buy and put in your deck b/c this is probably a huge oversight lmao.
Anime One Hundred Eyes Dragon copied the effect of all Dark Monsters. With enough set up, its possible with the anime version to create an unbeatable boss monster by coping Ultimate Falcon among other dark monsters
All format have own exclusive card except MD. When MD will get exclusive tech card or bonus artype. Maybd ultra lighting storm for example destroy all card under field, opponent cannot respond only can activate when no card on field

riryoku from duelist of the roses should be here. it just halves your opponents life points and gives it to one of your monsters. So at the beginning of game its just a 4000 burn card with a bonus effect.
Though dark synchros would be really difficult to summon since dark tuners are high level. The dark tuners would need effects that allow them to special summon themselves to the field.
Personally speaking, bringing the Immortal monster type from Duelist of the Roses into the main game would've made far more sense than making up an entirely new monster type based on one part of a mechanic exclusive to an ancient game like Dark Duel Stories, and three of its sequels.

I misunderstood the title as something like "Top 10 video game promo cards". why ecole would not work if my opponent summon 2 or more monsters if in the card description it says: "monster(s)"?, this was a mistake in the elaboration of the card effect?

About Mimicat: One thing that's interesting as due to the Deck Cost rule: In order to duel in-game enemies, your deck cost has to be lower than theirs. KiteRoid should definitely be printed in real life because it can be useful to stop damage twice but I guess there’s better hand traps to stop battle damage
Konami thinks its way to op.
@@xzenitramx666it’s in duel links so it’s not too op
@@Deathmare235 im being sarcastic about konami.
@@Deathmare235It’s had a really solid DL legacy, keeping stall decks and one more turn around even after the decision to halve burn and lock Parasite to bug decks.
Whenever they print it in real life they’ll likely buff the hell out of it.
Special shoutout to Burst Stream of Destruction in Duel Academy that was glitched so you didn't even need a Blue Eyes to activate it, so it was just a free Raigeki at x3
You should mention Ancient Lamp in Reshef. This lamp can summon a 1800 ATK beatstick that can attack (clone cards like Doron, Slime…can’t attack after using eff), and get buffed by Yami, which is almost a “default field” in late game
13:33 Correction for Illusion Gate: You do not have to offer your soul to activate it, you have to offer *A* soul. GX Spoilers from here on. She fought Zane and Zane being a badass he just about curb-stomped her. But then she played this card and chose Zane's little brother as the offering, so naturally Zane conceded and lost
So, yeah, it's an insanely busted card
You need the Shadow choker as well to choose someone else’s soul.
Lol that was it's effect in the anime too except Joey and Yugi used it against Para and Dox so it halfed both their life points.
@@Akechi_The_Phantom_Detective i completely forgot about that
#11: Southern Stars - Duel Links
It’s an anime exclusive card that permanently changes any monster’s level to 10.
Honorable Mention : Underground Arachnid
A -6 Dark Synchro Monster that prevented Spells/Traps from being activated when it attacks and had the effect to target and equip 1 monster your opponent controls; if it would be destroyed (battle or effect), you can send the equiped monster instead.
"Ecole de Zone" Translates to "Zone School" in french, for those curious what the name means
Damn. Can't turbo duel with this one. Gotta go a certain speed limit in the School Zone

I literally was thinking of someone should make a list of videogame exclusive cards video after seeing a videogame retrospective series few days ago.
Good timing
Not sure if this counts, but Arkana's Dark Magician has a different passcode from the original Dark Magician and counts as a separate card entirely, so any game that lets you get cards via passcode could theoretically let you use 4 Dark magicians in a deck
Does that actually work? Because I believe deckbuilding rules would say otherwise since the cards have the same name.
the only game i know that separate OG and Arkana's is Duel Link and you can't pick more than 4 of combined cards.
I love that in the anime, fog castle was used for the one strategy you'd expect, Exodia.
I'll miss the era of single player YGO games where you can win cards by playing through a campaign mode - Master Duel is too much of a real money cash cow for Konami to ever make anything that can eat away at it...
Duelists of the Roses mentioned 🔥🔥🔥🔥
That the only one I played. Well other than the Kiba, Joey and Yuji simulator games
I really want Dark Synchros and Dark Tuners to be real!
They are the deck is called ursarctics and Konami made them suck
@n.k.central8279 Those are fake dark synchros, we want the REAL Dark synchros.
Wouldn't work cause of the level being on the same side as xyz ranks. Solution would either the level being on same side as levels normally are OR being where it's going from the center out (being a new thing beyond lv and rank)
Ursartic ahh moment
@@shylogikthey are the real dark synchros, take them or leave it
One of the best cards in Tag Force was Cursed Prison, you can simply cheat out any synchro from the extra deck and then use Trap Stun or Book of Moon to negate the negative effects of that card, or just use Tyrant Neptune to copy its effects
i used it mainly to get an Extra deck synchro material for my Quasar, or summon a free Red Dragon Archfiend for my Red Nova.
İ remember that trap card. İt was so good
i’ve always wanted carat idol (from dotr) to be a real card, the design is so cool
13:38 "Joey! If you lose the duEl you'll lose your soouuLL!"-Tristan's second voice
After learning about Dark Synchros I finally understand that Dark Yugitubing joke from the funny train man video.
Finally, a video game specific top 10 list. I'm so glad.
I’m surprised the anime/game version of Power Wall wasn’t on this list. If you thought grass was annoying, just wait till your opponent mills 30 cards in 1 play 😂
Top 10 banlist cards that SHOULD get an errata
Top 10 cards never restricted in any way, but were widely considered to be hit
Failed cards and mechanics: naturia
Please logs I’ve been asking for these for months🥺
9:38 Incorrect - you don't activate it if it is a spell/trap, you just revive it. In fact, if you revive a non-monster with this card, you actually can not move it until the turn after you revive it, meaning you can't even activate it the same turn you revive it. However if you revive a monster, you can move it, meaning you can attack with it and/or activate its effect immediately the same turn you revive it.
Man, I could cry. I had the Exodia, Dark Magician, and Blue Eyes for Dark Duel Stories. They are worth so much now.....
I remember getting Reshef, I ended up trading it in after playing it for about an hour 🙃 then went back to World Championship Tournament
6:28 Idea to make this card a proper “Chaos” card for the TCG/OCG
_Chaos Blast!_
Quick-Play Spell
_Banish 1 “Chaos” Monster from your hand, field or GY, then target (Face-up the field or in the GY) 1 Spell/Trap OR 1 monster with a lower Level/Rank/Link than the banished monster’s; Banish it facedown. If you control a “Chaos” monster that was first Tribute summoned, Ritual summoned or Summoned from your extra deck after this effect resolves: Apply 1 of the following effects:_
_⚪️Excavate the top 3 cards from your deck, and if any of them are “Chaos” cards or LIGHT or DARK monsters, add them to your hand, otherwise shuffle them into your deck._
_⚪️Gain LP equal to the total ATK/DEF of the “Chaos” monster that was first banished for this effect._
_⚪️Inflict 1000 damage to your opponent._
3:30 Idea for a Fusion between One Hundred Eye Dragon and an “Eyes-Restrict” monster:
_One Hundred Thousand-Eyes Restrict_ (DARK)
Level 1
Spellcaster/Fusion/Tuner/Effect
“One Hundred Eyes Dragon” + 1+ “Relinquished” or “Eyes Restrict” monsters
_Must be fusion summoned. If this fusion summoned card leaves the field, return it to your extra deck. If this card is fusion summoned, you can equip up to 5 other DARK monsters from your hand, field, GY, and/or Banishment to it. If your opponent summons a monster or activates a card or effect; Draw 1 card. Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; equip that target to this card. This card's ATK/DEF become equal to the equipped monsters. If this card would be destroyed by battle or card effect, destroy 1 equipped monster instead. Once per turn (Quick Effect), You can banish 1 monster that is equipped to this card; until the End Phase, this card's name becomes that monster's original name, it’s Level becomes becomes equal to the banished monster’s Level/Rank/Link, and replace this effect with that monster's original effects._
ATK/0 DEF/0
0:24 This gives me an idea for a proper retrain of flair knight and mirage knight:
_Blue Flare Knight_ (DARK)
Level 6
Warrior/Fusion/Effect
“Blue Flame Swordsman” + 1+ DARK “Magician” monsters OR 1 “Dark Magician” + 1+ FIRE “Swordsman” monsters
(This card is always treated as a “Dark Magician” and “Flame Swordsman” card)
_While in your extra deck, face-up on the field or in the GY, this card is also FIRE-attribute. If this fusion summoned card leaves the field, Special summon 1 Level 8 or lower DARK, LIGHT or FIRE Warrior or Spellcaster monster from your hand, deck or GY, ignoring its summoning conditions._
ATK/2200 DEF/800
_Mirage Magician_ (DARK)
Level 8
Spellcaster/Effect
_Must first be summoned by its own effect. If a FIRE or DARK Spellcaster or Warrior Fusion monster you control that was first Fusion Summoned is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon this card from your hand or GY. You can only use each effect of "Mirage Magician" once per turn._
ATK/2800 DEF/2000
DuelLogs Meteor B Dragon and Twin Headed Thunder Dragon absolutely deserved to be on this list, they're both complete crutches in Forbidden Memories.
True. Not much to talk about though since the only difference as far as I can tell is the fusion materials
I need to double check the original sub, but the dub anime version of Sabatier was even more powerful because it was "become any card you want" instead of adding any card in your deck. You didn't even need to run the cards.
You should do a series where you look at a once powerful archetype and explain why it slowly became irrelevant (like firefist or gladiator beast)
Damn, great idea
Idea: Cards that would work WAY BETTER IN TAG DUELS THAN SINGLE DUELS especially since you mentioned Tag Force a lot in here :D A good shout would be Giant Trunade as it effectively lock your opponents from using their spell and trap cards for 2 extra turns if used in Tag Duels since you need to wait for that amount of time to get your turn again after your opponent's move
From experience: Riryoku Guardian is fantastic in Tag Duels. Loved making my opponents scream at a 11750 atk Gate Guardian!
Sabatier - The Philosophical Stone easily one of my favourite Yugioh ArtWork.
if only we could have gotten some Dungeon Dice Monsters representation. Knight of Twin Swords my beloved.
In Nightmare Troubadour Gozaburo has a special Final Countdown that instant actives from the hand or deck on turn one.
With enough set up, its possible with the anime version to create an unbeatable boss monster by coping Ultimate Falcon among other dark monsters
ecole de zone has some seriously cool artwork
The implication that there was a reason for the philosopher's stone only duel 😂 its not like it straight up dissappeared with 0 explanation
0:50 what the heck is laugh attribute
All format have own exclusive card except MD. When MD will get exclusive tech card or bonus artype. Maybd ultra lighting storm for example destroy all card under field, opponent cannot respond only can activate when no card on field

Highly refreshing Yu-Gi-Oh related video, thanks!
Shout-out to that one singular timelord from the 5ds game that got ported
Metaion I believe who predated the other Timelord prints by a lot!
Yeah nowadays we got all of them from the anime and even a synchro one that I'm not sure if it was from the manga or not.
@@cardking7776 The weird thing about the Synchro one is that it relates to the Arc-V manga, which is a bit rude they made it a full Timelord. The DDD Superdoom Kings at least parody former end bosses, but this one was just a later Timelord. Also unwieldy in its own theme, cause how could you Synchro when the main Level is 10? Railway cards are better extra deck options in a Zone deck.
@@runningoncylinders3829 Gotcha, never got to finish the 5ds manga and haven't started the arc V one so didn't know he was from there. But yeah he's pretty useless in his own archetype. If you're gonna synchro at all you're better off going into the lvl 12 mathmech or like you mentioned go into the train xyz.
This is going to be a good list! It's a very cool idea to explore video game cards!
Ecole de zone and soul binding gate are the perfect combo for timelord deck😂
And you forgot "basara" in tag force 5d. This continuous trap does is you can tribute 1 monster on ur field that has less lvl, then you can destroy 1 monster on ur opponent field that has more lvl than the tributed monster, then inflict 800 dmg to ur opponent. You can use this effect once per turn. And this was quick effect too, so you can use the effect anytime u want😯
I miss the stand alone Yu-Gi-Oh games. The 5D's ones had great stories. I would love another story based game
Fun fact: Duel Links has different versions of the same cards (white stead of flower knights, noble knight's shield bearer and noble knight's lance bearer), with different artworks and effects
riryoku from duelist of the roses should be here. it just halves your opponents life points and gives it to one of your monsters.
Does anyone know about the Illusion monsters that are from the video games ported into Duel Monsters proper like Mirror Sword Knight?
Wait a minute, the Dark synchro, they are only exclusive to Anime and Certain types of Yu-Gi-Oh Games!
Closest to Dark Synchro is Ursarctic.

iirc that was a joke attribute from official joke cards I think
4:11 It was also used for Ursartic monsters. BUT never reached negative numbers. just level 1
9:26 this card is basically triple tactic talents, but focused more a case of "summon a monster from opponent's gy". or superheavy samurai's "steal an opponent's monster S/T"
16:22 so broken, even the anime only used it once
I like the Dark Flare Knight from (ROD) I think it’s some perfect inspiration for a retrain for the new Flame Swordsman theme, it could have like some kinda token effect when sent to the grave to represent the wacky not needing a mirage knight in your deck effect lol
If we’re covering Video game cards, then it would really be cool to see a Top 10 Turbo Duel related cards from the 5ds WC games. I would just say “Speed Spells”, but I think the traps should also be looked at. I know that I use Full Throttle a lot to ensure that I have plenty of speed counters for my biggest spells when facing tough opponents.
I misunderstood the title as something like "Top 10 video game promo cards".
Bonus: Forbidden Memories technically only had normal monsters and therefore the Blue-eyes Ultimate Dragon, Gate Guardian, and Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth were normal monsters. If they were released into the real-life card game they could easily be summoned with Ancient Rules, Monster Reborn, etc...
*Illusion Gate* in Tag Force 1 PSP is kind of good in today's meta.
The #1 and #2 places could be printed in their game forms with the extra line "This card's controller concedes the duel and match at the end of the phase its effect is activated."
When it comes to Mirror Wall in Duelists of the Roses, that one is basically just the Anime version of Mirror wall where you don't need to pay the lp cost. Im betting plenty of people with one of those code books put in its code just to have a free win thing
Dam dark synchro sounds amazing. Imagine a 1 star being the most powerful. Requiring 2 or 3 tuners and 1 dark synchro monster. A pain to summon but some powerful effects cud be made.
illusion gate is even so op in the tag force games its actually banned in every release i believe only being able to be used after completing all main characters
Now we need a top 10 on anime exclusive cards like knight of twin swords, the landstar archetype, or battleguards
Some of these may not be in the tcg but there definitely in DL
the anime version of ecole de zone is more nasty, because the summon of every monster is negated before gets destroyed and replaced by the token, is basically a buffed solemn strike in every turn in every monster.
Isn’t there a continuous trap that basically just summons a synchro for free and treats it as a synchro summon?
It's called Cursed Prison. It's a trap used by Devak to summon Ancient Fairy Dragon in his duel with Leo and Luna.
That cheats out any synchro and blows up if the card is destroyed. It's why it's limited in ath force 5 and 6 because One hundred eyes dragon among other cheap combos exist
@@soukenmarufwt5224 What's funny double ripple is also in Tag Force 6 and the card is really good. Free Ancient Fairy and Power Tool off of one summon, me like!

Idea for future video: Top 10 unofficial translations for cards before they were released in the TCG. I still remember before Ghostrick Angel of Mischief was released, people called it things like Spoiled Angel and Dorklord. Might take some digging to find those unofficial names, but I think it's a neat idea.
Duelist of the roses representation I'm happy

"JOEY!!! IF YOU LOSE THE DUEL, YOU LOSE YOUR SOUL!!!"
Wait, you mentioned Illusion gate would bypass floating stuff. So what happens if a floater gets destroyed and then summoned by the same card? It still technically got destoryed by card effect, so even if it is now on the field it still resolves right?
15:19 Another deck trigger, amazing.
Fog Castle exists for one purpose in the anime: to facilitate Exodia.
Also, interested to see if a Monster Reborn but for Spells and/or Traps would be bad or busted.
Let's be real here, if he wasn't already in the card game, Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon would absolutely demolish this list, our old pal is useful in so many games. 💟🙏
What about a video going over the opposite. Was there any cards that got nerfed in the games?
why ecole would not work if my opponent summon 2 or more monsters if in the card description it says: "monster(s)"?, this was a mistake in the elaboration of the card effect?
You should do another top 10 cards that were broken in the anime compared to irl
how many different promo cards were released with video games? maybe a top 10 of that? sinister and feather duster would be on that for sure
talk about cards with exotic effects ex: ground erosion, this card bypass every protective effect like the winged dragon of ra (anime version) and raidraptor ultimate falcon because its negation effect is transfered to a monster zone.
That version of Mimicat does the effects of two cards... Monster Reborn, and Graverobber (which is a trap).
Yoo hiru your ygo channel is bigger than your main?
Illusion gate probably would’ve made just desserts a requirement to burn an opponent who sets up a board soon after wiping with gate
