Unless you plan on actually entering a drift race. Keep it the way it is and have fun. Sometimes leaving the cars just the way they come is fine.

That's my old rig!! Glad to see you have it running better than I did. Apologies on the missing 4th wheel, could have sworn I packed them all 😅 also, the white MST wheels are supposed to be glued, but I had plans for a different body and wanted to get the offset right for the new body. I missed this thing enough that I just bought another TT02 kit with the '99 (I think) Subaru body. I plan on doing the rwd conversion and full bearing kit, but had a blast driving this car.

I have a tt02d as well. I have the carbon shock towers and a bunch of aluminum pieces. It adds up very quick but hey it's better than other stuff lol

@Bastelhans the reason why is that it will turn it into a drift car and give the car more angle
IMO all you need is ball bearings, aluminum driveshaft and oil dampers.
But with that said...... I just received an order of GPM Bling for my MF01X Beetle.... 🤣

Those mst adjustable rims instruct you to glue the rims in the spot you won’t but most people don’t do that, all I did was put a price of regular scotch tape one on each slot
You need rear diff lock , front ona way diff, metal bearing , fast servo, more steering, oiö suspension, alu drive shaft, and gyro ,

I say go for it if you feel you will enjoy building it up and then racing it around. Ultimately this is your hobby and what you want to do with it. 190.00 is a bit of a price but what else do you spend money on excetp your hobbies and food and bills? Enjoy life to the fullest is always a great way to decide anything.

Honestly man. as a person that started drifting on a tt02 I'd say leave it for touring or rally and get a sakura d5s or one of the other popular rwd drift cars. the tt02 will only ever be a basher because local tracks don't use awd cars for drifting anymore. and by the time you upgrade the tt02 you'll be well into proper drift rig territory.

Buy the package I have their drift package on mine its mad adjustable I'm thinking about getting the kit u were looking at because I have 2 and want 2 different looks I have video in process of how I like it and how it proforms but I would recommend the upgrades
I say if you are going to run it then do it. It will be worth it for you. And if you only run it a bit then drive as is till it breaks and fix it with the upgrades.
I made mine rwd and order the yeah racing wide steering kit. Super cheap.

get the rwd kit, its way better for drifting and is fully adjustable, no moding or cutting needed to get it to fit
Drifters are fun man. Im excited to see more scale happen in the drift world. PS Ive made a bunch of inserts for those wheels. Search on shapeways for some options!

The TT-02 R32 I own had plastic bushings and when I put bearings in it was so quite and almost sounded like it backfired when i dropped the throttle.
I would love to help you out but I have never put a kit together yet lol I have two kits that I don't have time to did in.

You will regret spending money upgrading it once you learn more about rc drifting, id put the relic in the corner and not spend a penny more on it😉 4wd drifting is kinda outdated and that's not a great chassis for it either way. itll make a fine lil rally/road basher tho.
Id get a 3 racing sakura d5, and watch a load of yt vids on setup, tht would be my advice, the chassis is $120. Mst and yokomo also make good and cheap(well they start cheap☺) rwd drift kits also worth looking into.
Totally agree. If there is a Tamiya body set out there you like. get it, will not be disappointed but start with another chassis from the get go.

For a vehicle like this specifically? I am primarily a crawler guy so on my drift stuff I’m just using basic older electronics I have left over. Nothing special at all, I run them on my old spektrum dx3s. And for the servo i have some with a $12 amazon servo and others on. 20 year old futaba I’ve had since I was a kid. I’ve yet to really get into the electronics side of the hobby. My focus is on chassis and engineering.

That Yeah Racing for the TT01 was not an improvement..not sure how great the one for the TT02 would be..check the reviews on RUclips..they were accurate on the TT01.I knew before I bought it..that it would need some tweaking.

TT01..and TT02 similar parts..incompatible between them.
entry level everything there, no ball bearing , does not support brushless unless u upgrade almost everything......this is just a basher

I bought a cc01 and went aluminum upgrades.. $100 +the next 250..
On MY tt02 its ball bearings and aluminum drive train wise. Prop shaft. Dog bones. Cups.. left the rest. Couldn't justify any more cash.. break a suspension arm .. $13 for parts tree. Vs. $$$$$$
