These pulleys are designed to only lock one way, but they are a serviceable part so this video is great, thank you. The only thing I would add is put a small bit of anti seize on the thread so replacing it next time is easier.
When I saw that you removed the pulley, which I could not remove even with the wheel bolt remover machine, so easily, I had a thought as if you disassembled it and then reassembled it. However, thank you for showing it in such detail to those who do not know the mechanism of the event.
Thank you so much, having a similar issue with a volkswagen here in marble falls texas, i thank you so much for the extra advise, ot muchly and honorably valued as im donating my time, money and experience and tools to helpba stranded couple. In good hands now;) thanks for the help
Grate video my friend, I did the same thing on my alternator pulley and it broke the threads where the star shap screw driver tool goes in. The only difference I did to your video is just like you held still your left hand and turned with you right hand. I did the opposite I held it tight the black 33 teeth tool with the left hand and I turned the star looking screw driver with the other hand. Could that be the reason it Broke??
actually, you don't need to torque the pulley because they always design it to be tighten more when it's running, otherwise it will be loose by the time.
My Dutch mechanic was honest and admitted he makes most money on the parts when confronted with my proposal to only change the pulley. I decided to do it myself and he borrowed the tool to me!
When it doesn't have a free spin in one way it's clogged and causes vibrations and tensions in the belt and that mostly causes squeaking and other noises. Eventually the belt will break and It can even break the crankshaft pulley when ignored for too long.
You mean what brand the alternator is - its Denso. Its implemented in so many car brands it will take a lot ot time to count them :) And I mean that exact alternator in the video.

Its difficult to say. Maybe the torque was too much...

Mechanics in UK would just replace the whole alternator. They are not a fixer but a replacer.

Hi there! How to know if I have a bad pulley?
When it doesn't have a free spin in one way it's clogged and causes vibrations and tensions in the belt and that mostly causes squeaking and other noises. Eventually the belt will break and It can even break the crankshaft pulley when ignored for too long.
Great video, very informative, thank you for sharing 👍
