The only Ford Mustang I new in paisley was white / cream ? And parked at the top of school Wynd in paisley and years later had a for sale sign on it I always admired it. Ps my name is Frank. Gillespie and 2020 own the car sales and car wash on the left in the first 5 seconds of this video and at the age of 16 lived in 71 maxwelton road ie the first door on the left of this video! In the last sequence The next car on the left of this video was a Nissan Sunny estate owned by mr McKinnon the dad of my friends Robert McKinnon and Hamish McKinnon ! 5 seconds later you will see a grey Morris oxford parked in front of a White House. My friend Alistair Hamilton aged 17 and I aged 16 went to Foxbar and bought this car for £10 in the summer of 1977 and polished it to death and sold it got £20 a week later! And so I know this video was truly filmed in the glorious summer of 1977. RIP my friend. Alistair Hamilton.

Wonder if that was the same guy on school Wynd that had the Jensen Interceptor ?, it was white, was pretty rough, sat in the street, this was when i first moved to Paisley 20 years ago so quite a while after this video.

Incredible that you can recognise individual vehicles and know the history of some in a film which is almost 50 years old. This film must've evoked powerful memories the first time you watched it.

Born in Elderslie ,lived in Bonny Borrheed till I was 20 .Now in Somerset .This is a minted leap into unadulterated nostalgia. I miss the Old Paisley .Got my first bike jacket out of Jaffes on the high street and my mate Stef used to borrow it for Scorpions Gigs.🤘👍

What a difference to now, couldn't see one pothole, no roundabout just up from Fulbar road, no centre islands....just straight on up to King Street. I drive Mcgill's buses out of Johnstone and those roads are shit now. There goes the saying that everything gets better as the years go on. They get worse as the years go on.

I would've been 16/17 years old at the time of filming and living in Glasgow. Didn't arrive in Paisley till the mid 1990s but my God doesn't the West End look vibrant and alive here! Couldn't help but notice the Apollo Blinds shop in Well meadow street which clung on heroically and only closed last year 2023

Moved to Paisley, above the Campbell town & Islay bar in 1980 as a 6 year old... everything was still there... for years after this....The Park bar, Goudies garage, the public toilet @ the west end clock... only thing I don’t remember was the railway bridge before what is now the roundabout at the elderslie/Linwood/Phoenix.
    Thanks for putting this up.

i would bet my last rolo that waas me in my camper outside liptons car shop in the jet station. sad to see how the town has died now leaving virtually no retail, and only junkies and illegal migrants to use them. you got a good fish supper from bruno bernaccis chippy at the junction you veered left at. happy memories before the town got ruined.
