I own and love my Holden Cruze SRi 1.6 auto as it is fun to drive as an everyday car. The only criticism I have is the major security risk that the Holden Cruze has built into the car. For some reason, Holden believe that it should be compulsory to advertise your car's position to potential 'car hijackers' when you want to use your car and then provide excellent lighting to make the 'Hijackers' know exactly many people are getting into your car. Auto head lights like auto windscreen wipers should be an option, not a compulsory function.
Thank you for talking about the RIDE which so many frigging car reviewers ignore when it is a really important aspect of buying a car. Especially on Australia's mostly appalling pot-holed roads although the ones in this video looked nice and smooth,
I had a 1.8 and did 298000kms hasle free motoring. I ended up buying the sri as you fearure and this is a brilliant little car. Its solid and feels great.
@@stormb3948 Depends which one you get. If I were to get a Cruze I’d stick with a 1.6 Turbo. I got mine to 240,000 with no issues. Unfortunately it was written off as some guy hit me from behind at 70km an hour as he was on his phone in stop and start traffic.
I own and love my Holden Cruze SRi 1.6 auto hatch and has been great fun to drive as a daily work horse. As the Cruze has a sporty feel when accelerating, it's difficult to drive quietly. ha-ha Despite my aggressive driving style, I still reasonable fuel economy (ave around 10/ per 100km urban driving)
@@urabusliberty9258 100% m.ruclips.net/video/CXMRoVYjFNw/видео.html for a laugh - or literally any used car review or John Cadogan will let you know how horribly unreliable a Cruze is.
CarAdvice.com Yes if is on the way out maybe they can do something like they did with the Pontiac GTO and the Chevrolet SS. those are Australian made and build.
I've driven both (although I'm no expert). The Cruze, particularly the SRi, has a much more sporty/heavy feel to the pedals and steering, and drives more like a small commodore. The dash layout and with all the buttons is ridiculous, and the tech definitely feels a generation older. And those looks..... The Astra on the other hand is a much more refined car. The "European built" marketing is actually true. Lighter steering and pedal inputs are less engaging, but the cabin is a much more enjoyable place to be. Everything you touch feels very high quality - however I was driving the top of the range RS-V. I like a sporty driving car, but personally I would still get the Astra. Just a much nicer place to be.
I purchased a new one for 25K got rid of it within 2 weeks of owing it, Had a front end noise took it back to holden drove another to compare same thing , even mechanic said they are shit boxes, Lost 5K end up buying a demo Barina RS Best car would not look back.
Does this car have WiFi, Heated Seats, Climate Control, Adaptive Cruise, Collusion Detection, Park Assist, Reverse Camera, Sensors, Sat Nav and Button Start
It gets heated seats, auto climate control, reverse camera and sensors, satellite navigation, push button start, auto headlights and keyless entry. Doesn't have all the latest safety technology, but neither does the latest Toyota Corolla, which is a brand the can afford to splash some cash on the small car.
Well well. How interesting. I have no particular interest in watching a review of the Holden Cruze, other than this: Everyone and I mean everyone who is apprised about current cars in Australia knows that the Cruze is an absolute shit box of a car. Every car magazine review absolutely pummels it. But you guys think it's good. And that's why I watched this review, I wanted to see how you stack up as reviewers. You have no credilbilty whatsoever, and I can't unsubscribe any quicker, can't trust your reviews sorry to say.
+Karl P - so you've driven it then Karl? Great way to have a balanced opinion there. We never say it's the greatest, but is a good little car and very good value. The 1.6 turbo is a fun and willing engine. You get a long warranty, good support and it can pull long miles in comfort. It's old, awkward looking and not as efficient as newer cars - but it's not being built any more so that will never change. In runout it makes a strong value argument. Seems pretty balanced and fair to us.
Family has both the hatch and wagon. Big difference. The hatch is made in Australia, and the Wagon is made in Korea. The hatch is not perfect but is certainly miles better than the wagon
The 1.6 Turbo Cruze’s are fine. I’ve got one sitting at 224,000 km and it drives immaculate. If the 1.6 Turbo Cruze’s were the only model in the line up the reviews would be wayyy better. Much better and more reliable engine than the crappy 1.8 Petrol.

cant wait for the new holden cruze
Cruze has terrible reliability
how so? it has far better ratings from KBB, edmunds, consumer reports, and JD power compared to the Ford Focus, Dodge Dart, or Nissan sentra.
They are shit boxes so many in the wrecking yards now

Which one of the SRI V series has wifi and sunroof? The sri v or sri v fh II?
Or z series
Why is this not in the USA?
This is so cool.
The hatch? Was designed and built in Australia.

It's already in USA but it's not Holden but a chevy
This Holden looks exactly as my 2010 chevy cruze ltz saloon
cos they are the saem car, the chevy version is just whats sold in America
Why does it look like chevy cruze ?
Because is it, Holden is the equivalent to chevy in Australia
+Monkey D Luffy - because it is :)
well holdens are a bit higher quality as they get a bit more luxury touches (more leather, soft touch, ect)
So 2016 Runout Cruze or 2017 New Astra?

The fan slows down because my phone is ringing? That's a dealbreaker! It's because of shit like that there's no Holden anymore.
the convex mirrors suck...huge blindspots on them
That front is terrible! The second gen version was better.
Looks like it was designed by the same people who dreamed up the Pontiac Aztec.

Reliability not guaranteed. Resell next to nothing.
Wouldn't buy one, the road noise kills my ears after an hour drive
It killed my ears immediately when i first drove it
I resolved this problem using Michelin PRIMACY4, size 225/50 R17. Silence is Gold my friend.

Should have mentioned that the long warranty will come in handy as it will spend more than 50% of it's life on the hoist.
