That's what scares me most about used cars, you just don't know if the person before you went 30,000 miles on an oil changed and raced at every red light. Sure you can visually see wear and tear if it's really bad, but a lot of the internal damage/wear/tear can stay hidden until after you've bought the car and drove for some time. Just makes me extra cautious when inspecting a used car for purchase. Be careful out there folks, there's some really slimy people that sell junkers disguised as "low mileage lease buyback" cars/trucks
I'm a GM guy first, but I've been hearing a lot of positivity about Toyotas so there's a high chance I will own one some day, I also heard that Lexus is a good car too since they're basically Toyotas but just the luxury version of them
I own a 2013 manual Cruze and love it. Had to fix the usual issues with the coolant hose and housing and also the coil pack. Repairs cost less than $200. Have had no other issues. Not bad. $200 worth of repairs and had the car for 7 years and 103K miles.
@@eponymous7910 just traded my 2015 52,000km manual, for a Mazda CX-9 2016. Took care of that thing, but the transmission... Changed twice, after the third issue got rid of it
Everyone in Australia knows the gear boxes are rubbish and so are the electricals have driven 2 other peoples do drive nice when working lol.. everybody ends up selling broken for peanuts after doing their arss on them
@@alexs.818 Yea, 1st time around 30k kms; doing a regular checkup, something is wrong with your transmission. Take it into the shop, they have to replace it. 2nd time at like 40K kms, same thing. 3rd time 50K km, doing an oil change, transmission pan sweats. They look at it, take it back and let me know that it'll have to be changed. Now this time I have to pay some money out of pocket as not all of it is covered. After the fix, traded that thing in.
We had a 2012 Cruze with the 1.8 non-turbo 4. Never had any problems with it and nearly 200k miles of city and suburbs driving. Daughter drove it thru her college years and after, so it didn’t always get maintained on time. The drivetrain was bulletproof. The only reason we no longer have it is an accident that insurance totaled it. The insurance settlement was the downpayment for her next car. No regrets with the Cruze. If you went thru 3 or 4 transmissions you had to be abusing it.
@@richsweeney1115 in the case of the Chevy Cruse, it depends which engine. The turbo engines are bad - turbo failures. I know someone who had one and his failed. Ours was the naturally aspirated engine, which had a better lifespan.
@@PAHighlander24 eh...I haven't heard much good about them at all..either the motor, or tranny would go before it should have.. now,if I could find a 6 spd, without a turbo..and I was looking for a car..it cautiously consider it...even though I don't really like chevy anymore ,because I've seen how shitty they're made...and, I'd buy a honda before a cruze, I like toyota, I'm just more of a honda guy. Actually, ford and honda are the only ones I've ever had that I neverhad any real issues with, I've worked on cars for 20 years, and I know for has its issues too...but I still like them better than Iike newer chevys.
@@PAHighlander24 long as u keep ur oil feed line to your turbo flowing good and your waste gate your turbo should last awhile along with oil changes with full synthetic
I bought a Cobalt once. Under warranty: Bad ignition coil 2x Moisture in headlight Bad battery Bad body control module 3x Air bag sensor Plastic intake broke Rear brakes 2x (common issue) I think that's it. 🤔 Hard to remember it all.
My Chevrolet cobalt is a 2010. It’s also a five speed standard transmission. It just turned 276,000 miles today. The car is starting to go south. That’s why I watch this video I have my eyes on a 2016 Chevrolet Cruz six speed. Everybody’s telling me to get a brand new Subaru but watching Scotty’s other video on the Impreza and knowing two people that had them they become problems after a while although they’re great cars in the short term..
i got into one of those when they first came out and i got bad vibes i never bought one i bought a very good used cavalier for cheap...much better car.
Have not seen one of those in many years. My Dad bought a brand new one in 1978 and had nothing but trouble with it right out of the gate. He got rid of it right away and bought a 1979 Toyota Celica. He loved that car.
I wonder if they stopped selling because the 2017+ models were actually quite good and they lasted a while. My Cruze hasn’t given me any issues. I really like this car. Just take care of it.
I bought a Chevy Sonic in 2019 brand new as my first car. It’s been a zippy little car, with impressive driving dynamics I have to say. For being a subcompact car, it feels like a heavier car, the steering is smooth and firm in corners. It feels better in driving than a Hyundai Accent, Kia Rio and Nissan Versa I would say. I’ve been giving its maintenance by the book and changing the oil and all filters in the intervals Scotty recommends. It has been reliable.
Turbos are very sensitive to how clean the oil is and how you start and shut down the engine. These little high pressure turbo engines are even more sensitive! I prefer a bigger normally aspirated engine - all that fuel economy savings goes out the window 2000 USD at a time when you have to put the car in the workshop to replace a turbo
My grandpa bought a Cruz when they first came out. Brand new. Had a leaking heater core and you could smell coolant every so often. He didnt bother getting it fixed because he had terminal cancer and wouldnt be driving it much longer. What a piece of junk.
I got a ford focus and it has 65,000 kilometers on it.....the heater core was leaking so I got it bypassed, costs too much labour to put another one in. also the steering rack failed...it's worse than a cruze lol
I have the 2017 Cruze. I bought it brand new in 2017 and It’s been great. Always starts always runs. Obviously have to do the maintenance but other then that, my car is at 66k miles and it’s still running on original battery too.
This is what I have been saying for years any car can last a long time if you maintain it and drive it conservatively. It doesn’t have to be a Toyota to last.
For my elderly dad a few years ago, I bought a used 2012 Cruze. It was an electrical nightmare (replaced batteries, sometimes dead despite new battery, maybe bad grounds, and electronics that worked intermittently). It was given to my parents’ grandson in law, who promptly traded it for a Honda Insight (2019). And the above was all before the car had 30K miles on it.
Where we live local mechanics wouldn’t get your car fixed for days. Too busy. And the tire shop mechanics can’t be trusted to remember to refill your oil on an oil change or tighten the calipers in a brake job. Dealers cost more but around northern NJ they’re about the only real option if you want the work done right and want your car back the same day after a breakdown.
my sister owned a 2018 chevy cruze. the start-stop system failed constantly and she would stall out in the middle of intersections. unfortunately my sister was rear-ended by a guy going 40mph, but she wasn’t injured. however thankfully that car was put out of its misery.
We just bought a 2019 electric version of the Cruze with 18,000 miles on it. The Volt, Premier. After one month and 2,000 miles we love it, especially when passing the gas stations.
@@danielmeador1991 So then the 1.8L is the only engine that uses a timing belt. Thus it's the one to avoid above all offered engines? If that is the case then stay away from 1.8L
My son was gifted a 2013 Cruze from his Grandpa…..the only way I’d ever have one in my driveway. 🤦🏻♂️ I will say it’s insulated very well….super quiet on the highway.
@@73av8r5 They seem to be extremely hit or miss, I know some people who have had over 200 000 miles of nearly trouble free motoring, others don't make it to 60 000 miles. The 1.8 liter engine is generally more stout over time, the 1.4 is a terrible design.
Owned a 2012 Cruze for 9 years and I swear was bringing it in every year with a leaking problem. Once it was oil, then the year after it was the anti freeze year after that the coolant, last year it was the oil again and just 6 months ago the coolant AGAIN. Traded it in at 135,000 kms and never looked back
I have a 2007 Chevy Cobalt SS. It's a sedan. Has close to 200,000 miles on it. Burnt orange metallic. All the red cars peel. 3 batteries, 4 starters, 1 alternator, & the front wheel bearings. That's all the major stuff that's been replaced. Tires, rotors, brake's, & engine cover. The foam got loose on the engine cover. Some small things: Wheel cylinder (brakes), steering column cover, ground cable, sparkplugs, all the coil packs, & lubed the intermediate steering shaft. Original paint, wheels, seats, carpet, power steering, and transmission. The fluid & filter has been changed. Also, the valve cover gasket & wire loom has been replaced. I almost forgot, I had to replace the throttle body sensor a few years ago.
I have a 2008 Cobalt LT Sedan. It has 266,000 miles on it. It's on its 2nd battery, original starter, original alternator, 3rd set of front wheel bearings, new rear wheel bearings, new rear coil springs, new anti sway bar end links and bushings, new lower control arms. I also replaced all the brake calipers and cylinders a while back. Also on its 2nd set of spark plugs. I also had to have a new exhaust flex pipe welded on. I got the ZZP kind. A couple weeks before my new car was ready, a 2021 Subaru Legacy Premium, the timing chain guides broke on my Cobalt and had to get that fixed. New timing chain, guides, and tensioner for about $968. So I decided not to use my Cobalt as a trade-in. Gonna eventually sell it, I hope. Other than that, it still runs like a top. I've also changed the oil, with full synthetic, when the oil life got to around 5%. So, about every 12,000 miles. Also, I almost forgot to mention... At around 198,000 miles, I hit an elk with it. Smashed the hood and the windshield. Thankfully, it wasn't a total.
Ford gave up on sedans and small cars. GM has discontinued small cars. Toyota says their is still a market and will continue to make sedans and so will Honda. The American brands are focused on SUVs/crossovers and trucks. Young single people may still prefer to drive a sedan instead of an SUV
@@julzb7165 The Jazz is called the Fit in the USA and Honda discontinued it probably because of slow sales. This means they are not brining the new redesigned Jazz/Fit unveiled in Japan to the USA
My sister's 2011 Cruze with that horrible four-cylinder turbo blew the transmission at 45,000 MI overheated and cracked the water pump at 45,000 MI, and again just blew the "secondary cooler", somewhere in the cooling system, at 49,000 miles. All highway driven miles.... in little old lady mode!!! POS!!!
My first car was a new Chevy Vega . My second car was a Chevy Monte Carlo. My third car was an Oldsmobile Cutlass. All gave me huge problems. No GM products for me . I have Toyota vehicles and will never own anything else from now on.
Buddy Bonin I've owned four Square Body Chevy trucks, two 85s and two 86s, aside from having to get a rebuilt transmission in each one I haven't had any serious problems with them other than that, I also routinely check all the fluids so they take care of me for the most part, most GMs are reliable you just have to get the right one, I'm currently looking at an Oldsmobile Aurora and an 01 Cadillac Catera to drive on the weekends
@@venomous0229 Ok you have to remember how old they are, I was probably the first owner for each one to have the transmission rebuilt, but once they're rebuilt you shouldn't have to do it again, like I said that was the biggest thing I had to fix on each one, other issues I had were minor and happened sparingly like having to replace a water pump, fuel pump, a new rubber hose, etc, when you have an old car you have to stay on them and when you do you'll see that they'll last, plus when you need something fixed it won't cost a boatload of money like a new car🤷🤷🤷
I have a 2010 HHR with 184,000 miles on it; no major problems. Changed oil with Mobil1 synthetic and filter every 5,000 miles. Replaced front rotors and brake pads. Still going strong! 2.4 liter 4 cylinder
I have a 1994 s10 2.2 litter 4 banger for 17 years and my dad owned it for 9 years! Gets 25 mpg for a pickup and haven't needed major repairs just the basics! 👍
The manuals are a different story. I had a 2001 Saturn L series, an ecotec based car. I got 197000 miles out of it. It was still running when it got stolen. It had the manual transmission
I had a '14 turbo cruze and loved it. Took it from Winnipeg, Manitoba to Dallas and back. Also went from Winnipeg to Georgia to Toronto back to Winnipeg. Never had any issues ever. It drove pretty good on the highway and did its job well. Not much passing power at 75mph and doesn't win too many races. Ended up trading towards a Chevy Equinox because I had two kids. Worked very well with 1 baby seat.
I take frequent trips too cleveland from Ann Arbor, and my cruze has done great. Never had a problem in 102k miles other than the AC compressor going out at 60k. Grandma had OCD and always took care of it very well, inside and out. Wish it had cruise control though 😂
I am a used car dealer; we have do, oil, trans service, belts etc. We give a 100% power train warranty. Too many problems. The 1.8 litre is a better motor.
A common problem on the Cruze is DTC P0301, "Misfire cylinder 1", and the the Stabilitrak light comes on. By the time you get this code and light, you probably have a cracked piston, aka time for an engine replacement. This usually happens right after the 60k mile powertrain warranty ends. There are are computer software updates for the engine control module that the dealer may or may not do for free. This can help reduce pinging, which causes damage to the pistons. Using 91 octane gas will also help.
You are right Scotty about Japanese small car quality; but they sent teams of people here to observe and learn from every level of our systems of planning through production, from the 50's on for a couple of decades.
I have a 2013 Cruze. I bought it in 2014 with 39000 miles. I now have 240,000 miles. Engine and transmission still run perfectly. My only significant problems have been coolant leaks… 3 water pumps.
Also GM did NOT make advance safety features standard like Toyota and Honda do. On Chevy and even a Cadillac lane departure alert, pre-collision system with emergency breaking and adaptive cruise control is optional. Whereas it is standard on Toyota Camry and Corolla. I don't if why the American brands don't make in standard, while the Japanese and others imports are standard
I prefer suv's for many reseasons. 1. I live in a snowy climate, and they handle it better (especially before plowing). 2. I love the outdoors, and the clearance helps me get in & out of more places. 3. I have a large family, and it fits everyone and their stuff comfortably. 4. The frame verses unibody is tougher. 5. The ride hight provides better visibility. 6. I think they look better. 7. Great for hauling, and trailers. Money is tight for me, so the more my car can do the better. Because I don't need to rent, or buy another vehicle for each purpose. Or hire someone else. I use a smaller vehicle as a daily driver to save gas.
I sell used cars for a living and I've never seen inflation like I'm seeing it now. Some cars have gone up 50% in the last 5 or 6 months and that's at the auction. It nuts.
I have a 2018 Cruze and I love it. I am retired and only put about 5000 miles on yearly. I take it to the dealer whenever service is due. It had 6 miles on it when I bought it new. Absolutely nothing has gone wrong with it. I love your videos. Keep it up😃
I love my Cruze! I test drove the Civic & Corolla beforehand & the Cruze blew them away. CR rated it #1 in its class over them. Built in Lordstown Ohio! My mom bought an Elantra the same year & the thing fell apart. My Cruze is still going strong with 120k on it. And yes Scotty, I DO take care of it!
I really like the looks of the Cruze - but I remember my last Chevy when the transmission went out at 40 thousand miles (I don't make enough money to give it away)
Last month I paid $4300 for a 2015 Cruze for my daughter with 80,000 miles on it. So far so good. I had to replace the temperature sensor but that's it. Crossing my fingers. I did some research and the ratings are all over the map. It does have a 4 out of 5 reliability rating. If I get any issues with it, I'll be taking it to the bone yard.
It would be a good time to unload it before it eats it, buy a Toyota their worth the extra money I put over 305,000 on mine until some scumbag totaled it, I have had many with over 260,000 and still ran perfect they were 5 speeds.a clutch it 212,000 just simple maintenance.
2015 is the last year of first gen cruze, so it's one of the good years. 2019 is the other good year because its the last year of the second gen cruze.
That's a used Hertz rental car ... when Scotty opened the door for the Lordstown OH, that's the Hertz asset sticker. A miracle this car is still driving.
The Cruze had a funny recall. Folks had these as company cars. Walk out in the morning and the trunk is open. Neighborhood kid rings doorbell says the trunk is open again. Just a slight bump of the key fob in the pocket or taking it out to put it on the counter at home would open the trunk. Fix was to increase the delay in the computer
I have driven aggressively my entire life and haven’t experienced more than a slave cylinder failure in the clutch of the manual 1996 Ford Explorer which was never rolled over.
I doubt that he replaced the same item 3 times while under warranty because then the car would have automatically qualified under the lemon law and Chevrolet would have had no choice but to buy the car back
Like your video! The Cruze has been a good car but I was laughing when you mentioned the ECM issues because I just had to replace mine. I have a 2017 Premiere. Bought it in June 2017 and have been getting regular maintenance. I have 53,000 miles on it and my ECM went bad a week ago. Kind of was pissed as I didn’t think it should have gone out that soon. I love everything about it except that so far. I’ve noticed since the ECM was replaced a drop in my gas mileage but the dealership I got it replaced at told me it’s going to take a couple weeks for the ECM to “relearn” your driving habits. Sure hope that’s the case. If the ECM goes out again for some reason that might be the last time. Funny thing is I just am a couple months away from paying it off..
My sisters chevy cruze just had the turbo problem. The thing was screaming. I do currently own a 2010 Chevy Impala ltz with the 3.9, I take good care of my car and so far I've had no problems. Currently has 84 000 miles so it has not stood the test of time yet. Other than the impala I wouldn't buy chevy. My next car will be a Lexus or Toyota
My 2014 Chevy Cruze has 94,000 miles on it so far. I’m the original owner, bought it new in December 2014. I have had the water filter and thermostat replaced recently and have had the valve cover replaced earlier this year as well as the coolant reserve tank too because it had a crack in it from all the weather conditions over the years. Other than those problems, so far so good. I keep it well maintained with the oil changes, filter changes and soon will be doing a transmission fluid change once it hits 100,000 miles. The real downside of Chevy Cruzes was just cheap parts that fail and break on you at the worse times like what happened to me. They are nice small cars, just make sure you keep up with the basic maintenance changes.
Replace your coolant hoses - I had two blow. After the coolant spilled all over the engine the engine started leaking oil - a quart a week. Took it to the repair shop and they wanted $4,500. 2011 Chevy Cruze - 77,000 miles. Likely headed to the junkyard where it belongs.
@@Chimidway88 should be doing trans fluid change no.1 at around 30-40,000 miles. At 100,000 you've allowed far too long for heat degradation to alter the properties of the fluid and the foreign particle load from normal wear is much too high by that time.
My 2017 cruze is the best thing that ever happened to me. Carried me through senior year of high school and 4 years of college all the way in Buffalo. Will forever be a supporter of this line
I rented a lot of Chevy's when I was traveling. There always seemed to be something wrong with them, mostly little stuff but it was enough for me to question their quality control.
I have a 2019 chevy Malibu, very very similar to the Cruze. Same engine and everything. Bought it used at 32k miles from hertz car sales. the only problem with the car is that it does not shift the gears right. It will take much longer time for the gears to shift. It has put me it very unsafe situations. Now this does not happen all the time. Most does it does well and the car is fine, but some days it will literally stall on accelerating. I floor the gas pedal and it will take a couple seconds to shift gears and accelerate. Any advice ?
My GM experience: 2011 Chevy Cruze 2019 Buick Encore 94,000 miles between them $7,700 in repairs Never missed an oil change on either. I went from a die-hard GM guy to someone that’ll never step foot on a GM lot again.
I would never buy a new chevy unless its a 2500hd silverado, other than that, ive got a 2005 Chevrolet Classic with 212,829 miles with the original l61 2.2L 4 cylinder Ecotec motor and it runs fine, no turbos, completely stock
@Vance Wankel my Encore was still running when I got rid of it but every time it hit -18°C / 0°F condensation in the turbo would freeze, blow some kind of a seal and require an $1,100 repair. Happened to me twice in 19,000 miles when I said enough was enough. Took a $5k hit, sold it and bought a CX-5.
Badge fanboys. I want a 3/4 ton cat eye ‘03-‘07 silverado/sierra but that’s only because my stepdad bought one brand new when I was 12 and they don’t have “active fuel management” cylinder shut off plug fouling technology like the recession Chevys do. Already owned a ‘01 half ton and know how to work on them but other than that I’m not really a brand loyalist anymore.
The trucks are ok. Any truck you buy is gona have problems. Chevy has small problems where Ford and Dodge have bigger problems. Toyota is not prime tier either. Plus they rot REALLY fast
We own a 2017 Chevy Cruze at 52k miles with a manual transmission and the damn thing runs like a champ! Super good gas mileage and smooth handling. Granted we bought it for the gas mileage as our other 2 cars are gas guzzling v8’s 😂😂😂
I'm getting my 17 Chevy Cruze AT fixed soon, I'm the 3rd owner but you know how it goes.... the first 2 owners just used it for it's gas saving capabilities with little to none maintenance. Once I got this all sorted out I'll baby this as it's really giving you gas savings it's crazy (my brother has a Toyota Yaris iA/Mazda 2 much better low maintenance car but can't beat my gas money savings). Got it from 136k miles to 179k miles in 8 months of driving 170 miles a day 😅😅😅 guess it's asking me back for the money I saved because the old owners didn't took care of it. I feel much comfortable on this car than the Mazda 2 my brother had and this has android auto which really helps me avoid slow traffic and man did we got to a lot of canyon and side street drive but still @ $20 for a 170mile drive it really is crazy it can save this much.... too bad it's discontinued. It could've been improve but you know how American cars are.
Why would you need that start stop technology on a small car that gets good gas mileage? I don't know if that is offered on the Camry, but I don't think the Corolla has it.
My cousin has the older model and it has had a lot of problems. Very cheap. My grandpa bought it new for her after she traded in her old car so she’s still gotten more use out of it then someone who bought a used one.
@SpRiNgCoMa4372 0_0 idk about jetta's but ik the 2 Chevy cruzes I had we're pieces of sh!t blown head gaskets coolant leaks transmission problems just terrible srry smh!
Those are junk !! I work at a junk yard (Chevy dealer) And they are 💩💩 any type of 4 cylinder from GM are just junk but people buy them like they are free ! Lmao ! 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Glad to see Scotty giving a fair review of the Chevy cruze. I bought a 2014 new with the 1.4 turbo and I’ve been very happy with it. Being light the original tires lasted to 102,000. And I still have the original brakes at 140,000. However that’s partly due to the fact that I have a manual. Water pump failed at 135,000 but covered under warranty.

Daughter drove it thru her college years and after, so it didn’t always get maintained on time. The drivetrain was bulletproof. The only reason we no longer have it is an accident that insurance totaled it. The insurance settlement was the downpayment for her next car. No regrets with the Cruze.
Those turbos have a high failure rate. I would never buy a Cruze. I work in an online parts store.

@@garymcmullin2292 I did my first transmission fluid change at 50,000.
I love the people walking around aren’t bothering you
I have a 2019 chevy Malibu, very very similar to the Cruze.
Transmission control module is failing
Edit: I may be wrong but it's very common
Get a 94 Celica
Sell it.
It’s a a gm cvt. Cvts are garbage, if your going to get a Malibu trade it in for the premier trim with 2.0 T and 9 speed automatic. It has 250hp
Also if you plan on keeping it charge the fluid
have a 17 w/144k+ runs great. just changed the original turbo out W/New turbo.
Keep the blood clean often in all cases. No problems.
I agree that Weimar dollars are a bad trip. Spending in DC is ludicrous.
I have a 2016 Cruze LT, bought new, with just over 60,000 miles. Yeah, I get the oil changed every 3,000-3,500 miles. I love it! Fingers crossed!
My GM experience:
2011 Chevy Cruze
2019 Buick Encore
94,000 miles between them
$7,700 in repairs
Never missed an oil change on either.
Dam lucky he got that much 😂😂😂
@Vance Wankel my Encore was still running when I got rid of it but every time it hit -18°C / 0°F condensation in the turbo would freeze, blow some kind of a seal and require an $1,100 repair.
Happened to me twice in 19,000 miles when I said enough was enough. Took a $5k hit, sold it and bought a CX-5.
I have a 2011 LT Chevy Cruze with 114k on it, it’s a great car and has never let me down, and yes I change the oil😂
What amazes me is there are still loyal Chevy fans after making all those 💩 vehicles
Haha right? I’ll never buy another Chevy again post early 2000’s.
There are so many Chevys in my state it's ridiculous . From Impalas to cruzes you name it .
The trucks are ok. Any truck you buy is gona have problems. Chevy has small problems where Ford and Dodge have bigger problems. Toyota is not prime tier either. Plus they rot REALLY fast
@@selfimpovingprophecy5970 I also have a hard time keeping in mind that god didn't evenly distribute intellect
I daily my 1991 Corvette
Very dependable
Wow Scotty now gives lessons in economics as well as car advice 👍
Yes he did. It was from the university of clarksville
We own a 2017 Chevy Cruze at 52k miles with a manual transmission and the damn thing runs like a champ! Super good gas mileage and smooth handling. Granted we bought it for the gas mileage as our other 2 cars are gas guzzling v8’s 😂😂😂
"you can cruise all day long in this thing, it's not like it wont *_cruze_* " 😊
With the ridiculous price of vehicles, Scotty is more valuable than ever.
Next time, use lemon decals.
The CA in CAFE. Corporate average. Squeak 2 easy MPG city out of a tin can easier than 2 out of heavy SUV.
My cousin has the older model and it has had a lot of problems. Very cheap. My grandpa bought it new for her after she traded in her old car so she’s still gotten more use out of it then someone who bought a used one.
The Chevy cruze is a terrible car 😩
@SpRiNgCoMa4372 0_0 idk about jetta's but ik the 2 Chevy cruzes I had we're pieces of sh!t blown head gaskets coolant leaks transmission problems just terrible srry smh!
@springcoma0_064 ...because the Jetta is worse than the Cruze. Jettas, all newer VWs, were meant to be leased while new car warranty is in effect.
Had a 2011 cruze. Transmission went out at 74k miles. I guess the fluid did technically last the life of the vehicle, but I'm not satisfied.
Those are junk !! I work at a junk yard (Chevy dealer) And they are 💩💩 any type of 4 cylinder from GM are just junk but people buy them like they are free ! Lmao ! 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Yeah for the same money buy a Corolla or Civic
Glad to see Scotty giving a fair review of the Chevy cruze. I bought a 2014 new with the 1.4 turbo and I’ve been very happy with it. Being light the original tires lasted to 102,000. And I still have the original brakes at 140,000. However that’s partly due to the fact that I have a manual. Water pump failed at 135,000 but covered under warranty.
I have one too so far every year it’s been giving me problems once I fix up the repairs I might sell it for a down payment for a 2014 honda accord EX
