I guess it is kind of off topic but does anybody know a good site to stream newly released tv shows online ?
@Lance Thiago I watch on flixzone. Just search on google for it :)
Man, everytime I see one of your videos, I learn about a new tool I need.
thank you for the comment mate I love to know I'm helping
@@CafeRacerGarage yeah helping me spend money. :P
I agree! I am ordering the rivet nut gun set!
All RUclips videos should be this good
Thank you so much for introducing that rivet set. I personally never knew it existed. My welding skills isn’t so great and there are a couple things I want to do on my bike, that set just gave me the possibility of doing what I want to do and have a good result. Thanks again. I will be purchasing that tool.
Impressive job lining up the holes with those angles and tight spaces.
Thank you mate :)
I knew they made pop rivets never knew they made rivet nuts! that is a game changer!
Rivnuts are one of the best things I've ever found for building. It's just been night and days since I've started using them.
100% agree with you
Hi, greatings from the UK. Just thought id drop you a message. Ive just smashed through this entire build, and ive got to say, your work is amazing. Its helping get over all sorts of sticking points for my own build. Im in the process of making a cb250 scrambler, and your channel is super helpful. Cant wait to see how this cx turns out.
No worries mate, I'm happy that the videos are going to good use, plenty more still to come, Make sure you follow me on Instagram for Stories and updates before they come to the channel :)
Perfect. Thanks i Will use This to my project build
Thanks for reminding that These things exist 😄
Had been using Them a lot when I was working as a mechanic. They make things lot easier!!!
No worries glad to help, they are definitely awesome
Rivnuts are fantastic. Now that you have a the tool you are sorted. I would also note that I have seen other bikers secure their lowjack, electrics, etc.. behind a battery box or whatever using torx security bolts. Even if a thief comes with tools the security bolts may stump them.
I love my clinch nut tool. I highly recommend you get the knurled type clinch nuts for a more secure fastening ;)
That's ingenious, well done!
Thank you mate
Good morning
It's a good idea
The sneaky Wednesday video Dan. Love it!
I will throw them in when I can brother :)
Thanks for the tutorial. I just bought one for myself
That's fantastic :)
Thank you for always helpful videos
No worries :) Way more to come
I love it! I suck at welding lol so the less welding on a project the better!!! Keep it up Dan 🙌
Definitely solves that problem LOL but then again practice makes perfect apparently :)
@@CafeRacerGarage haha this is true!
Great idea 💡
Riveting Video Dan...
Very useful tool, got my birthday coming up soon so think I will get one. 👍
Nice one Adam I guess your not the only one that thought the same thing as I answer the comments :)
Honoured to comment first! Great video as always! I have a standard rivet gun, now I’m considering buying a nut riveter. It seems to be pretty handy for many applications!
MrStoca Thank you mate, congrats on being the 1st comment 😁. it’s also a great tool for others things like number plate nuts, seat pans fixing point, wiring harnesses anchor points. I’ve had mine for a while but I’m at the point in this build that I will start using it more and more :)
As always awesome idea. THX Man!
Thank you mate :)
Nice Job 😀
Looks great. Does drilling the bike frame like that have any impact on structural integrity.?
,
Thanks
Couple of nice tools there for someone like me (can't weld) nice & strong too : ) CHEERS m8 👌
Definitely worth getting Ma man so handy
Nice neat job with the rivet gun, Dan! Regards from Singapore this week...
🏍👍🏍
Thank you Gary, Man you move around 😯
Cafe Racer Garage just the job! 🤪
Is this more compact design of rivnut tool better for fabrication on motorcycles? Is it strong enough for steel rivnuts? Thanks.
Tray looks welded
I been fixing bikes for like 7 years but just diagnosis and fixing, I'm about to start my first cafe racer with a 2003 st1100 Honda I just want to know what battery is small and powerful enough to hide it in the bike and start it
Hey Dan , is there a video where you showed how you made the tray ? I can't seem to find it
Hey, you listened! :-) Yes, they are really handy and good. If possible one could wait with those rivetnuts till after the powdercoating.
Yes 😉Great idea :) extra coating on them wont hurt tho :)
Great video to show how these work, is it worth putting some silicone on there before crimping the riv nut up, Stop moisture ingress?
They way that these work silicone should not be necessary if they are properly installed. The metal of the rivnut seals up against the frame as shown in this video: ruclips.net/video/dkPhGIaPCVs/видео.html . It might be worthwhile to paint the inside of that drilled hole with a rust guard or similar to protect the exposed bare metal.
How do you remove a rivet nut?
They used the same thing on the subframe of my Mt-09
Oh really that's awesome I will have to go and have a look on google
👍
I'm building my electrics tray now. Is there a problem with welding it in rather than screwing it in? Is there too much flex in the frame for a weld, or was this just your preference?
It’s just a personal preference thing I didn’t really see the point in welding it in but if you want to do that you can 👍
@@CafeRacerGarage The only point I see in welding is better weather proofing for the electrics, but the way you built yours with the lip over the top of the frame rails would take care of that, I think. I did buy a nut riveter though. Neat tool, that. Thanks as always, Dan. You really do make great content.
want to learn to be a mechanic Like uncle
Haha Nice
These are commonly made of alluminium and I asume yours are too.
You are fitting them to a steel frame without any means of corossionprotection. Thats gonna kill the frame pretty quick....
I'drill them out and spray something in there if I were you.
finerasGfX This frame will me painted or powder coated so that will cover the entire area. I’m always learning so thank you for your comment
I prefer the welding since all those extra holes on the frame... Don't like'm
You are right and drilling too many holes into a frame is a bad idea, I've added a lot of strength to this subframe if you compare it to the factory one so I am definitely lot worried about the extra holes. Welding a nut or tab is better If you have that option :)
Drilling into the frame ...mmm...not somthing i would do. You could have used another method like tabs or clamps on the bottom of the tray that would wrap around the frame when the screws are tightend.
You are right there are many different ways to get the same results 👍😁
drilling two 9 mm holes into the the upper frame weakens the strength and is definitely forbidden for good reason.
I say this with no disrespect but I think the scrambler isn't a scramble. I think it's a tracker. I have a photo to show why I would even bring this up to a craftsman I truly enjoy watching and learn from.
It's definitely got a tracker look to it that's for sure :)
Rough total....you have a run me about $4433 in tool costs... thanks
Sorry I think LOL 😁
No worries, I cannot be upset about more tools.
